4:58pm: Dragic has also been ruled out for Friday’s Game 2, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic.
3:21pm: Heat center Bam Adebayo will miss Game 2 of the NBA Finals vs. the Lakers, league sources tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (via Twitter). Adebayo had previously been listed as doubtful for Friday’s game due to a neck strain.
According to Wojnarowski, there’s still hope that Adebayo will be able to return to Miami’s lineup on Sunday for Game 3. The All-Star big man was originally diagnosed with a shoulder strain following the Heat’s Game 1 loss, but a subsequent MRI revealed the neck injury as well.
Without Adebayo in tonight’s lineup, the Heat figure to lean more heavily on Kelly Olynyk and possibly Meyers Leonard in their frontcourt.
While there’s no official word yet on Heat starting point guard Goran Dragic, he’s dealing with a torn left plantar fascia and was listed as doubtful for Game 2 too, so it would be a surprise if he’s cleared to play tonight. He’s also hoping to return at some point this series, though that sort of plantar fascia tear often sidelines players for weeks.
Kelly Olynyk 2020 Finals MVP.
Olynyk could get some points, he isn’t bad at all offensively. Defensively? Ugh.
Just wait; he’s gonna drop 40 points and emphatically block LeBron at the rim to seal the victory.
I mean, you weren’t far off.
Lakers in 4
I told you. You just had to believe!
Hahaha.
Curtis I still am not sure how the lakers would have played against clippers. To me that was the biggest threat and the choked. I even think celtics would have been tougher than heat.
Just messing and agreed on Clippers. That would have been a series.
Watched a video on YouTube of how heat even beat celtics who were much better. I guess the exposed kemba on most rotations and seeing as tatum took over the lead scoring role kemba can’t do much else. He is a huge target on the court. I think Danny should trade him for a center and let brown and tatum crush the competition. They are a center away from being a real force.
Injuries happen in finals.. I don’t feel bad for heat.. lakers lost magic and Byron Scott in 89 finals to pistons.. lJames worthy was hurt in finals to bulls..all huge losses.. they couldn’t recover in both series
At this point in the season everyone is banged up to some degree or another. It’s the nature of the Beast.
Lakers in 2
Tonight will tell us a lot. If the Lakers blow them out again, there’s no chance, turn off the lights, going home.
Sweep
This Finals matchup is a joke. No wonder ratings are so bad. Let’s face it, too much star talent has moved to the west. Unless a big move happens for any of the east teams this won’t change next year.
“the West?” Lakers walked through the three Western teams they played in the playoffs. This isn’t
“East” vs “West” Lakers are just too tough for the league.
Somebody gets it
My friend Curtis for one I must wholeheartedly agree with you… LAL are just too good for the rest of the league! That is words of wisdom!
Ah but my friends.., 2021 will be a different story when my Golden State Warriors line up and put together another successful campaign. Curry will be back, Klay Thompson will be back, Draymond Green will be able to do what he does instead of playing with 7 GLeague guys, and fingers are crossed that Andrew Wiggins lives up to his potential finally after 7 years. Can’t wait to see if the Warriors can tap into that Fountain of Youth to go along with their experience of five straight finals. Bottom line, don’t write off the Warriors just yet.
2020 Lakers got lucky just like the 2019 Raptors when they both beat a team missing most of their top players out with injuries. Congrats.
Put that up as a banner in Toyota center next to the “7-16 vs the Warriors in the playoffs” one. Lakers get real rings and another title in the raftors.
This guy is all excuses all the time when he isn’t just a blind homer for the Rockets. Absolutely zero credibility.
And yet they still beat a healthy Rockets team in five games.
Homer glasses work both ways. Clippers were built for Lakers series. I still think they could of beat them. But looking ahead is no excuse. Truth is Nuggets exposed them some. Even if it was overconfidence. A true champion shows up every gm. Cause anything can happen, like an injury. Never going to be a Laker fan. But Bron is best team player ever. It’s hard to even put the full value of that. Heat had a chance to at least make it a series. They can’t absorb any injuries. Let alone two of their best players. Bron n Rondo know what’s at stake and where they are. Two of smartest players in gm today. I’m not gonna say Lakers got lucky. Truth is they are good enough to win this. They have always showed up. Where the Clippers or Bucks didn’t. You have to give them their due. A champion is always focused, no distractions. Lakers have been locked in for the Whole run. I just want to see Bam have a great game. Jimmy too.
One thing I see for sure. Is there will be a Big FA that will want to go to Miami.
