Over the last week, we’ve been examining projections for all 30 NBA teams for the 2020/21 season, publishing polls asking how many games each club will win. With the help of lines from professional oddsmakers, we’ve had you vote on whether each team will go over or under a given win total, from the Bucks (51.5) all the way through to the Knicks, Pistons, and Thunder (22.5 apiece).
Here are the full results of those votes:

- Houston Rockets (35.5 wins): Under (50.4%)
- Memphis Grizzlies (32.5 wins): Over (53.8%)
- San Antonio Spurs (30.5 wins): Under (62.3%)
The main takeaway from these results: Our voters very much expect good teams to be good and the bad teams to be bad in 2020/21.
Of the 17 teams with projected win totals of 36.5 or higher, only one – the Clippers – was voted “under.” Meanwhile, of the 10 teams with a projected win total of 31.5 or less, only two – the Pistons and Hornets – were voted “over.”
Here were the five “over” bets that received the largest vote shares:
- Los Angeles Lakers, 48.5 wins: 79.1%
- Milwaukee Bucks, 51.5 wins: 73.7%
- Dallas Mavericks, 43.5 wins: 73.6%
- Portland Trail Blazers, 41.5 wins: 70.1%
- Denver Nuggets, 44.5 wins: 69.7%
Here are the five “under” bets that received the largest vote shares:
- Orlando Magic, 31.5 wins: 73.5%
- Cleveland Cavaliers, 23.5 wins: 68.5%
- Oklahoma City Thunder, 22.5 wins: 64.4%
- San Antonio Spurs, 30.5 wins: 62.3%
- Chicago Bulls, 29.5 wins: 61.6%
Betting on some of the NBA’s worst teams to go under their projections makes sense, as long as you’re correct in forecasting which teams will be at the bottom of the standings.
No team this season has an over/under mark below 22.5 wins, and a team that finishes 23-49 would have a .319 winning percentage. A year ago, the league’s bottom six clubs all had percentages lower than that.

Las Vegas overrates bad teams such as Kings Wolves Knicks Cavs
And OKC, they won’t win anything close to 23 games.
OKC still better than HOU!
How so? Why those teams specifically? Just because u dont agree with something doesnt mean it’s wrong…I’ll wait
GSW don’t look like a team that will win anything close to 39 games. In fact, they will lose a lot more times than the Rockets do this season. I know it’s not a popular opinion here, but those who disagree with it will soon realize how wrong they are.
GSW still better than HOU!
I wonder how confident the 79% of those here who think the Lakers are going to win at least 49 games are feeling right now after they embarrassed themselves in the first quarter against the Clippers, and are now down 39-19 at home.
Their defense is far worse now with the likes of Harrell in the rotation, and Schroder has never been much of a defender himself. I doubt anyone will win 50 games in the West this season, not even the Lakers. Maybe they win 45 games, 47 tops.
You really are a troll Sillyman ……
What’s the score at half. You’re not not a fan dude. You are a complainer and critic. We only got 71 gms to go. Try to enjoy the game.
Why do you keep opinionating houston(m? Your extreme biases makes you the least reliable predictor here.

I thought posters would wipe out Charlotte, but they were a rare bad-team over. Bovada must like the Clippers’ new passing wings.
LAL are outrageously better than HOU!
salty rockets fan lol
Lakers are defending champs. But I think their team D will suffer. Let’s see what they do about it. Clippers, Nuggets, Blazers all will have a shot. And the first round won’t be easy either. Could be upsets happening. Bucks to me are favored in east. With Celtics, Heat, Nets all as good. Even Sixers could cause trouble in east. Lakers might’ve a the favorite. But there are 6-7 teams who could win this yr. I see a competitive playoffs this yr. Should be a fun yr. I hope they can pull it off. And it would be nice to have fans back at some point.
