James Harden has reportedly added the Bucks to the teams he’d be willing to play for but acquiring the perennial All-Star guard would be very complicated even if Milwaukee wants him, as Eric Nehm of The Athletic points out.
Milwaukee can’t move nearly half of its players on guaranteed contracts since the club added six players via trades or free agent signings. Most of those players aren’t eligible to be dealt until late February. The Bucks’ proximity to the hard cap also makes it nearly impossible to trade multiple players for Harden unless a third party is involved or Houston tosses in some minimum salary players.
We have more from around the Eastern Conference:
- While the league has trended toward smaller lineups in recent seasons, the Cavaliers could go with a jumbo lineup at times, Chris Fedor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer writes. Coach J. B. Bickerstaff plans to utilize Larry Nance Jr., Kevin Love and Andre Drummond in certain situations. “We expect there are going to be times where we throw that big lineup out there,” Bickerstaff said.
- Sixers center Joel Embiid has bonded with assistant coach Dan Burke, who ripped him as a Pacers assistant last season. Burke claimed then that Embiid “gets away with a bunch of (stuff).” Embiid doesn’t harbor any grudges, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps. “I think he’s a great guy,” Embiid said. “We’ve actually been very close since we got here. I think him and the whole coaching staff is going to kind of look at me to kind of be the driving force of the defense.”
- Tony Snell is currently not with the Hawks, since he’s self-isolating, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic tweets. He hasn’t tested positive for COVID-19 but was deemed a close contact to someone who did. Snell was acquired from the Pistons this offseason.
At this point, I hope Houston trades him to the knicks
They have nothing the Rockets would take in return.
Milwaukee, on the other hand, does have Giannis.
Bwhahahahaha…..lol……that’s a good one! Best joke I’ve heard today.
You do realize that the Greek Freak is light years better than Harden is, was, or ever will be. The whole point of getting him would be for Harden to play second fiddle to a true superstar. Not just another great scorer like himself.
I sincerely hope that was a joke… The Bucks wouldn’t even take the Rockets entire roster for Giannis nevermind just Harden! lol
Brush (Harden Westbrook MVP) I only read these Harden posts to see your comedic genius. I hope your being a troll, otherwise you need help buddy.
Giannis might not be a big fan of Harden’s game but if Bucks could find a way to pair both of them somehow this actually could be lethal.
Bucks need playmaking & shooting which Beard can provide. Imagine how much of a space would Giannis have under the basket when teams will start doubling Harden and how many open looks would Beard have when defense concentrate on The Freak.
The Bucks would have to be a stupid as those running the Rockets to trade the Freak
Hard no.
“I want somebody that’s going to pass the ball.”
The Sixers will wait until Ben Simmons has increased his value before trading him. Why does all these proposed trades devalue his worth? Morey is not stupid like his predecessors.Simmons is not a malcontent. Only if Harden signs a long term deal would I trade for him. Tim
Harden is already signed for 3 more years (and at an outrageous price) … so no one is ‘waiting for him to sign an extension’ or holding out for him to sign one… if anything acquiring teams would be more weary of acquiring him because he has 3 years left… not because they’re worried about losing him too soon.
Even so, once they got him, they probably couldnt get rid of him soon enough..
Dude doesn’t take advice nor constructive criticism, he think he knows it all. He hogs the ball, flops and flails around the court like an asclown, but he is one heck of a scorer..
Now, he also requires a minimum of 20 seconds of dribbling per possession, and if he does decide to pass you the ball, you have to immediately shoot it so he can rack up his assists to make people think he actually even looks at his teammates…But, he’s one heck of a scorer..
Too bad, he’ll also give you the random 4-20, (1-12 from 3) night, and you can always count on him to chime when the lights are the brightest!! But, he is definitely one heck of a scorer!!
Harden will be 33 when it comes time for a new extension and he wants the full 5 year max. Not worth it!
Harden=LOSER!
Harden like most players only want to play on about 4 teams. Trade Harden to Dallas for KP. Harden and Luka could be lethal combo.
The Cavs could come out blazing.
•Many players will be grumpy and feeling repressed by covid rules.
•CLE can take advantage with speed & anger at not getting an invite.
•Their big is not that big but was effective in limited use.
•Drummond & Okoro adds backbone to the defense.
•There’s no lien on their first pick anymore.
•Coach is better… more experienced.
•Garland has had plenty of buildup time instead of not enough.
•They are probably all done with showcasing Sexton since he did not attract interest, but he is offensively efficient and I look forward.
Sexton or Garland have to be dealt
#FreeTheBeard
Free him to the hornets…bwahahaha
Lamelo, Bridges, PJ, Rozier + 3 firsts?
MJ can teach Harden how to party all night and still ball
Enough with those suggesting Giannis for Harden. We don’t really want Harden and if we did it would be Middleton as the main piece
