Veteran guard Jarrett Jack is the latest addition to the G League Ignite, the league announced in a press release. He will join the team for training camp in California later this month, and the season is tentatively set to begin February 8 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Jack, 37, played for eight teams in 13 NBA seasons, but hasn’t been in the league since 2017/18, when he appeared in 62 games for the Knicks. He posted career averages of 10.8 points and 4.6 assists in 867 games.
After being waived by the Pelicans prior to the start of the 2018/19 season, Jack joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G League, but played just one game before suffering ACL and MCL injuries. He rejoined the team last season and averaged 15.6 points and 5.0 assists in 25 games. He also participated in The Basketball Tournament last summer.
G League Ignite also confirmed the signing of Donta Hall, who was named to the NBAGL’s All-Rookie Team last season with Grand Rapids. Hall signed a 10-day contract with the Pistons last February and appeared in four games. He signed with the Nets for the NBA’s restart and averaged 6.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in five games.
Hall could get a callback from the Nets to fill Jarrett Allen’s roster spot.
well he signed with ignite so i dont think so. i think he doesnt have much a jumpshot and cant space da floor right? he could take claxton’s spot cuz claxton is practically useless and has injury issues arent beneficial either. and plus hes playing in da g league despite being on a standard contract.
Of course he could leave Ignite for an NBA roster deal. Ignite is a select team strictly for G-League. If they’ve already begun their bubble season, then, yes, he’s probably staying there for now due to quarantine issues and could sign 10-day contracts afterwards.
If Claxton gets healthy soon, he should surpass Hall. In the meantime, DJ and Perry are the only 5s on the roster. KD can be positionless and play anywhere but you don’t want that.
ik but they could get skal labrissere as a backup 5 behind jordan or even dedmon for more floor spacing and defense. just need someone that plays similar to allen but with more skills and shooting. claxton can never stay healthy and perry is just a rookie. if they wanna contend they could quickly get a 5 who could do more than DJ.
Donta Hall should be on an NBA roster. No, he doesn’t have a jumper. No he doesn’t space the floor. But if you’re telling me that Ben Wallace wouldn’t have a role to play in today’s NBA, you’re crazy. That’s who Hall could be: a slightly better on offense, slightly worse on defense Ben Wallace….
ur right
I wish Jarrett jack was still in the nba he was always solid
yup. he was great when he was with da warriors but hes past his prime. hes 37 so might as well join da g league or even rejoin da knicks cuz they dont got any reliable point guard.
