Wizards forward Isaac Bonga got benched on Thursday after starting the first four games and coach Scott Brooks said it was simply a numbers game, Kevin Brown of NBC Sports Washington writes. With Rui Hachimura returning from an eye injury and reclaiming his usual spot in the lineup, Brooks had to choose between Bonga and Troy Brown as the backup. He chose Brown. “We’re trying to find minutes for Troy (Brown Jr.) and Bonga, and (Thursday) it was Troy, but who knows who it will be (Friday) night,” Brooks said.
We have more from the Southeast Division:
- Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce said he had promising reports regarding guard Kris Dunn‘s arthroscopic right ankle surgery on Tuesday, according to Sarah Spencer of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Dunn is wearing a walking boot and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The former Bull has yet to make his Atlanta debut. “It sounds as if everything went well, as well as the surgery can go, and he’s staying here at the hotel,” Pierce said. “But he’s post-op and laying low.”
- Hawks free agent acquisition Bogdan Bogdanovic has averaged 15.3 PPG on 42.9% shooting from deep but Pierce says his value goes beyond perimeter shooting, Spencer writes in a separate story. “He hasn’t had any bad games,” Pierce said. “Bad games aren’t ‘make or miss.’ He’s taking those shots, I’ll live with them…. I trust his work. I’ve been praising the fact that he’s probably our hardest post-practice worker.”
- Would the combination of Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson be enough to satisfy the Rockets in a potential deal with the Heat for James Harden? Not even close, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald tweets. Houston wants “significantly more than that” for Harden, sources inform Jackson.
Harden $1.00
Herro $0.40
Robinson $0.20 because of expiring contract
Salary filler has no future value
Trade $1 for $0.60
Requirements
Proven and Massive
Harden $1.00
King size snickers $1.50
Wrapper has no future value
Trade $1 for $1.50
Requirements
Chocolate and nutty
Harden is 31 and a for sure Hall of Famer, the package should be massive. I get you have to pay for him twice, package of players and his salary, but he is one of the best scorers of all time.
I still doubt that the R’s will trade Harden, but if they do, Herro and Duncan , and a pick or two will be the best that they could get . Maybe the Heat would include one more player , but what other team would beat that? Denver? But they would have to decide to take the ball out of Jokic’s hands. Miami needs more to compete with Philly, Nets, Bucks and Celts.
Lol
Still think Houston shouldn’t be looking at Hardens needs and wants who cares about the teams he’s mentioned.
I’d be looking at the Nuggets, Gary Harris, Micheal Porter Jr, Bol Bol and a first for Harden and House.
The Blazers McCollum, Little, Collins, Trent Jr and 2 first rounders.
The Hawks (eventually) Bogdanovic, Collins, Heuter, Reddish and a first.
The Pacers Oladipo, Turner, A Holiday, 2 firsts.
New Orleans (eventually) Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Jackson Hayes, Lewis Jr and a first.
Or Clippers PG13, Kennard and Zubac.
Prioritise getting multiple young pieces or picks, you don’t need an all star level player to head line the package plus youth plus picks.
Nuggets can give you 2 young dudes and a pick
Blazers can give you 3 young dudes and a couple firsts.
Hawks can give you 3 young dudes and a pick.
Pacers can give you 2 young dudes and 2 picks the Pelicans can give you 4 young dudes and a pick and lastly the clippers can try their hardest.
It’s crazy to even think that some of these teams like ATL or NO would risk their future for someone who has proven he can’t win important games.
He’s proven to be one of the best scorers of all time and a lock for the HOF.
Plus I’d hardly call it risk their future.
If they made this move they still have Zion, Ball, NAW and picks in the future.
Hardens wishlist isn’t as much that he’s trying to force the Rockets to trade him to those teams, it’s making it that those teams are the only ones that want to trade for him.
As much as fans want the rockets to give him away to the Kings, teams not on his wishlist aren’t likely to pony up many assets for him. The Rockets will take the best deal regardless of who offers it, but only teams that he wants to be on are gonna offer a lot.
Ingram is gong no where/. Harden is a choker. Houston is gong to have to be realistic on what they will get. Jaylen Brown is not being traded for Harden either. Summons is not either. Portland is where he needs to go. Lillard can close the game. Aldridge will be back to at the deadline. They need to go all in to beat the Lakers.
Hawks and Pels hang up and block Houston after that ludicrous proposal. No one want’s Houston’s trash.
Never thought about the Pacers but I mean thats really just Turner and a couple 20’s if Ola doesnt do a S&T
Nugs get off to a slow start it might make them look harder at Harden indeed but idk they move the ball so well and Harden is basically a stop sign….might be some tricky hoops to jump thru there
If Im Rockets I want the Pelicans fit and I think in a normal circumstance its the best fit but I worry AD burning them will deter Pelicans away from the ‘Big Star’ – I do think they have enough tho while keeping Ingram and Zion to bring in Harden as well with all those picks at their disposal
Washington finally got their first win of the season, leading by 30 points before the benches were emptied late in the game. Without Westbrick, of course.
There seems to be a lot of confusion here which I must clear up. I was a Westbrook fan for exactly 505 days, in other words his tenure as a Rocket (it killed me to do so).
My feelings about him now are no different from what they were when he was in OKC. He stole the MVP from Harden in 2017, the only reason it was given to him was to make up for the Big O not getting it in 1962. Averaging a triple-double for an entire season is no basis for awarding a selfish player like Russ the MVP.
So it everything clear now? I’m not all of the sudden despising Westbrick because he left the Rockets, I’m ecstatic that they’re rid of him after a wasted season!
In 3 months:
Let me make this clear to everyone, I was a fan of Harden for his tenure as a Rocket (it killed me to do so).
My feelings about him are no different than when he was on OKC. He stole the MVP from LeBron in 2018, the only reason he won it is because voters were tired of voting for Lebron. Scoring a bunch because your usage is so high is no basis for awarding a selfish player like Harden MVP.
So it everything clear now? I’m not all of the sudden despising Harden because he left the Rockets, I’m ecstatic that they’re rid of him after a wasted season!
So the stunted is aware of having a code, of course one that follows his instincts.
Everyone knows harden(‘s deal, no need for explanation. He is like a cartoon figure of a fan drawn for satire. Rockets, Nets, OKC, anyone Cali, and the people associated with them, all distorted.
@rox_guy…
The fact that a player goes to your team doesn’t mean you need to follow him, you can still hate him, absolutely irrelevant point.
The fact that you follow a team it doesn’t mean you stand by all their moves, it means you must be their strongest critic & really be super hard & mad at them for almost every move they do.
If you defend them & criticize less than fans of other teams, it means you are just a bandwagon fan, not a real one, as a proper fan would expect the best if not perfection from his team… hence why never anything you say makes sense.
IMO you are a HOU hater, it shows in every post that you attack ex-players & every post you defend the un-defendable actions of the team!
Get a life & find a team to follow!
Correct, Randolph, Ariza, Dedmond, Whiteside and mory…… and much more
I understand you
She winning vs. Wolves with don’t Towns. Woow. Westbrook gives the Team offense. Washington is a terrible defense team. A ring protector and a better 3 and D player than Bonga and she winning games vs. better teams. In game two Bulls scored Bertans 0-8
0-8!!! And a horrible defense. Lopes… Omg very bad.
Beal Okey the best scorer in the eastern conference but defense?
Westbrook is don’t perfect. He shot is struggle. But he is a aggressiv player with good atlethic and passing.
In game one vs. was Neto the problem because he was terrible from three.
Westbrook is don’t the problem for the wizards.
You use players names as your profile name, then change depending on a whim.
Why not just say, Rockets01?
Instead of
temporary rockets player A > temporary rockets player HOF!!
HOF Rockets player HOFx2
You defend Westbrook when he’s on your team. Now that he’s not, he’s back to being Westbrick. You come off as confrontational and aggressive Fandom, why do you care now, at this singular one point in time, about appearing fair and balanced?
Bonga Dunn Bogdan, Herro
just liking the headline, no point
