Raptors guard Patrick McCaw hasn’t suited up at all for the team this season as he recovers from knee surgery, but his returns appears imminent. As Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca tweets, McCaw is listed on the latest injury report as probable for Friday’s game vs. Minnesota.
Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry, meanwhile, is dealing with a thumb injury and is listed as questionable for Friday’s contest, per Lewenberg. Head coach Nick Nurse previously indicated that he expects Lowry to miss at least one more game.
Here’s more from around the Atlantic:
- Nets forward Kevin Durant has been sidelined for the team’s last three games due to a hamstring injury and it remains unclear if he’ll be back on Saturday vs. the Clippers or if he’ll have to miss more time, writes Brian Lewis of The New York Post. In Durant’s absence, the Nets have won games in Sacramento, Phoenix, and Los Angeles (vs. the Lakers), and James Harden is making his own MVP case, as Lewis details in another story for The Post.
- Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype considers possible trade targets for the Celtics using their $28.5MM exception, including Eric Gordon, Thaddeus Young, and Harrison Barnes, among others.
- Ian Begley of SNY.tv suggests that Terry Rozier, Lonzo Ball, and Buddy Hield are among the potential trade targets to watch for the Knicks, viewing them as more realistic options than the likes of Bradley Beal, Victor Oladipo, or Zach LaVine.
The C’s don’t need any of those guys the need a big and a leader we have to many young players they need leadership
Collins is better than those guys
I’d make an insane offer for Collins
Draft picks offer
Celtics can do salary dump in summer
Dump Smart salary for a future first in summer
Trade Walker for a player who makes $25 million a year in summer
Smart’s not the problem he’s the only one on the team that has balls and can play D he just needs to stop making bad shots
I think you would like him to make bad shots. What you want him to stop doing is missing bad shots, or taking bad shots.
What happens next year when you need to resign Collins and have no money left? He is not coming for free, and you rent him for a season?
They should have his Bird rights I believe
Knicks get BALL
Ball will go to Raptors for Lowry
We need a player like Terry Rozier period! His fg% is great and his three point percentage is over 40%.
We need a player with these offensive capabilities in that position.
We do not trade Quickley, Obi, RJ and Randle. We try to keep Burks. Otherwise IMO everyone else is tradeable especially Payton.
IMO
Knicks should not consider Rozier, Lonzo and Hield
Rozier overpaid
Lonzo asked for insane amount of money
Hield overpaid, Defensive FG 54.8%
Half of the players defensive FG is higher than FG
That’s 3-time NBA Champion Patrick McCaw to you, pal.
You mean. Teams won despite having McCaw on their roster. There. Fixed it for you.
No, I don’t mean that. The man played in the playoffs every season of those 3 rings, and when you go to his basketball-reference page it says it at the top “3x NBA Champ”. All you did was make a truth into a lie, well done?
I didn’t say he didn’t play on those teams. He just wasn’t very useful. Are you trying to tell me he left the Warriors on good terms?
tHeRe fIxEd iT fUrR yOu….
Begley = Berman – 200lbs.
It’s kind of basic. All these teams are still in the playoff hunt. All these players are in their team’s short rotation. All these players are the right age to be part of their team’s core. All these players are either under contract or controlled via RFA matching right. Despite all this, their teams are actively shopping them.
If McCaw can find that shooting touch he had in GSW, then the Raps can use him for sure.
I thought Charlotte would be looking to trade Rozier, but I doubt it’s NYK where he lands.
CHA/NYK are both competing for the playoff’s,both in the Eastern Confeence & I doubt CHA is in a hurry to offload Rozier. I can see it happening though & more than likely in the offseason.
He was never a good shooter
McCaw lost it his second season with the Dubs. He screwed over his 3rd season by not signing with a team until 20 games into the season. He really hasn’t played much the past two seasons. He’s better off going to the G-League, or playing overseas.
Knicks would be better off getting Buddy
No to Ball. No to Hield. Rozier I’m ok with. Also think they should be looking at Fournier. Don’t be shocked if Knicks move Randle for big talent. Even in three way he can help us get a LaVine. For some reason I think Thibs wants him. A steady 24 a gm plus starting Obi1. I’m all in on that lols. We got three of top 32 picks next yr. Yeaaahhhhh rebuild rebuild rebuild. All about rebuilding. NYK.
I would not mind Hield because the Knicks need outside shooting (though his shooting has declined both last year and this year), but he makes way too much money. Rozier would be nice, but I think he’d cost too much and I’d rather just continue the rebuild. Ball I want nothing to do with.
C.J. McCollum, Lavine, or on a long-shot Beal, would improve NYK significantly. (Maybe a bench piece or 2 also)
Rozier is priced right for his skill & play level.
Dipo I’d avoid unless he can turn it around this season. Still a good player, maybe a future 6th man candidate if he can’t regain his previous All-Star form.
Do not trade Randle/Quickley/RJ. They are the untouchables. I’m not high on LaVine’s. I would focus on Rozier. He fills holes in our offensive game including shooting g almost 50% fg and over 40% from three.
Also do not trade Obi.
Reason I like Rozier he’s got tough mentality and plays D. I’m good with him Rose, Quickly. Move Nttilikina and Payton. I agree we need that steady reliable shooter. It’s why I would look at Fournier. Plus he can play the wing 2-3 for us. Randle I’m a little torn up about. He’s doing well under Thibs. And I believe him when he wants to be here. Wish Obi1 would get more mins. Don’t see why he can’t be 6-7th man avg about 22-24 mins. Tells me they want to showcase Randle. Randle has one more yr left. Do we really want to pay max money for him. Think it’s best to sell high on him now. Hornets need mins for Ball and Magic have looked to move Fournier before. We have assets to make big trade or smaller one. If we can use Randle for a your talent or star. I do it. I try not to give our #1 picks next yr. Only the 32 pick and future picks. This draft is loaded with wings and 3-4s.
