The Timberwolves have waived two-way player Ashton Hagans, according to a team press release.
Hagans was signed to a two-way contract in late November. The undrafted rookie out of Kentucky made two very brief appearances with the Timberwolves before joining the team’s G League squad, the Iowa Wolves, at the Orlando bubble.
Hagans was one of several Iowa players suspended two games without pay this week for violating the league’s health and safety protocols. That incident contributed to the team’s decision to cut ties with the 21-year-old point guard, as Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic tweets.
Hagans started two seasons for the Wildcats. As a sophomore, Hagans averaged 11.5 PPG and 6.4 APG in 30 regular-season games.
Jordan McLaughlin is Minnesota’s other two-way player. Along with the vacated two-way slot, the Timberwolves also have an opening on their 15-man roster, giving the team some flexibility to make moves.
Lonzo Ball & some other boys stole sunglasses in another country. Good Play can erase bad memories, and Ball doesn’t necessarily play all that well to forget about that incident.
Kentucky blue-bloods land on their feet, he’ll get another shot if his play deserves it.
That wasn’t Lonzo
That wasn’t Lonzo
It was his brother, LiAngelo. I guess if you disappear off the basketball planet & have a more famous, also went to UCLA, but underperforming brother, he will take the blame by mistake from time to time. Oops!
This upcoming move will not only turn around this entire season but also erase all the painful memories of the Timberpuppy franchise going back to 1989.
PASS ME SOME MORE KOOL-AID, Mr. Rosas !!
Hagans was nearly kicked off the Kentucky team last season as well. It happened near the end of the season and the news was virtually forgotten because of the cancellation of the tourney, but we UK fans remember. He got suspended for two key SEC games and then came back.
He needed to stay in school because his maturity level is not there yet. But then again, we all need people to serve as cautionary tales as well. The biggest problem is that a lot of people still don’t learn from these cautionary tales.
Hagans has heart coming from a Kentucky fan
Welp…. that was quick
Wolves didn’t use a draft pick on him right?? He was a rookie free agent I hope.
