James Wiseman will be reevaluated once the Warriors return home from their road trip, Anthony Slater of The Athletic tweets. The No. 2 overall pick in the draft is recovering from a wrist injury suffered January 30 against Detroit. Coach Steve Kerr said the rookie center is progressing well from the left wrist sprain. The Warriors’ next home game is Thursday against Orlando.
We have more on the Warriors:
- While the odds are starting to drop, Stephen Curry is a value play for bettors wagering on the Most Valuable Player award, according to Ethan Strauss of The Athletic. Curry currently has the sixth-best odds, but is posting offensive numbers on par with – or better than – any season in his career except for his brilliant 2015/16 campaign, Strauss adds. Curry is averaging 29.4 PPG and 6.1 APG after his 57-point explosion against Dallas over the weekend.
- Klay Thompson has shed the walking boot as he continues to recover from a right Achilles tendon tear, Slater notes in another tweet. “Getting the boot off is a milestone,” Kerr said. “I’m not sure what’s next.” Thompson suffered the injury in November.
- If the Warriors want to bring in a free agent big man due to their frontcourt injuries, a wrinkle in the COVID-19 protocols could make that happen quickly, Marcus White of NBC Sports Bay Area relays. According to TrueHoop’s Tom Haberstroh, free agents who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days (and are now negative) only require a two-day quarantine.
Warriors should have picked up another big when Chriss went down. Dont really get the wait. I watched that Mavs gm. And Wiggins at end of gm was playing soft. Gave Luka too much room. And ran from ball instead of to it on offense. Gotta be more aggressive Warriors need him.
They could always let go of Chriss and use his space to bring in a player. Not sure why Meyer is so stubborn on making in season moves.
Ever since GSW let Jerry West go, the front office has been one of the worst in the league.
If GSW doesn’t get rid of the Lacob nepotism hires, they are going to keep turning into the Angels of the NBA, these knuckleheads can’t figure out who to put around Curry, and the Angels are wasting Trout’s career in a similar fashion.
Bob Meyers is a over rated GM. He just got lucky when Durant signed. He has made many mistakes as GM by not signing good back ups. The Russel signing put the Warriors way back but again got lucky when he found the Wolves to unload him on.
Agreed. In the least, they should have Signed someone the day after Wiseman sprained his wrist. The new player would be eligible and playing now after clearing 6-days of Negative Covid tests.
No Wiseman, Looney, Chriss or Smailagic. Trying to tred water with Draymond, Toscano-Anderson and Paschall. Guess they are okay giving up 134 points per game.
I don’t get it. Why do people think the Warriors should sign a player that they won’t really use? Probably the best big out there is Dedmon. There is a reason why teams don’t keep him around.
Because depth is everything if you wanna make it deep in the playoffs
But they’re not going deep in the playoffs, even if they get there.
Imagine being a Rockets fan saying this about the Warriors, the team that relentlessly beat them for 5 years. Jealousy is for the weak. GSW is going deep this year and its so funny how yall think 24 games in when they’ve been playing a 9 man roster is how they are going to be an entire season.
You just aren’t that bright, are you? Steph could win this thing by himself if Oubre wasn’t there making bonehead play after bonehead play.
Second half Warriors are about to make you ALL silent…just kidding you will never EVER stop posting in GSW threads to bring them down, will you? Steph broke your brains so hard its hilarious.
GSW and Curry live in your minds RENT FREE, forever!
Dedmon lasted all of 4 games when he was with the Warriors. He really doesn’t add much depth.
You play 8 man rotations in the playoffs, have you ever watched any??
Your rotation depends on what kind of talent the teams have.
8 men rotations in playoffs, sure, but currently having 9 healthy active players in a covid-era game is a vastly different thing.
An article on here said they sent Poole, Smallagic, and Mannion to the G-League a coupe of weeks ago, so doesn’t that free up roster spots? Or, do they have to still count them on the roster? Seems like they could sign a big man on it temporary contract.
They still count toward the roster. Sad thing is the last 3 loses should have been wins if Wiseman was healthy.
GSW would be in first place if Kelly Oubre was never on the team.
Marty McCray to start the year “warriors are gonna end lebron in 2021”
Arc89 “warriors are a top 3 seed”
Warriors currently sit in 8th seed tied with kings. Barely in playoffs as I predicted.
You predicted the standings 24 games in, yay for you!
You are still posting in GSW-only threads, because you are legitimately shook about them, as you should be. Imagining winning a title and not even caring about your team, lol nope here you are, once again, along with your gang of toxic hater trolls (5 upvotes and I can probably name them – yall are so corny)
They’ve played the last 4 games with no one over 6’7″. They’re messing around and hands are tied at the moment.
Curry is winning MVP this year whether you like it or not though. Like I’ve said all season they need to use that TPE and then they will end LeBron.
Can’t wait :)
What is there to say about the Lakers? They’re rolling. Pulling out OT victories while Draymond taking shots from the logo with the game on the line lol. You better hope Steph can carry the whole team, looks like he’ll have to.
i wouldn’t brag about barely beating a losing team that is rebuilding in OT. Just like I said before 1 injury and the lakers are a .500 team. Which is what they looked like last night.
They don’t award a championship based on what you “look” like. It’s about Winning. Ugly or not. Good teams get it done no matter what. Bad teams lose games they should win.
Lakers need to make a trade they have a lot of weaknesses. Same as warriors exposed for not having enough centers. Utah right now is the best in the west by far.
I never said warriors was a top 3 seed. Once again you are posting complete lies here. You said Lakers would dominate and will easily win another championship.
You are just angry that the warriors beat the lakers after saying the lakers would win by 20 points or more.
Uh-oh spoke to soon, now your not in the playoff picture with draymond taking 3s to end the game like he is steph curry. Ahahahahaha trash can coach Kerr looks like he is in way over his head and validating what we all knew was true “the team that mark Jackson built” The teams were so loaded that luke walton could be viewed as a great coach until he got his own team without 4 all stars.
@tatsumaki i exposed you as a liar and troll. You claimed Warriors will not make the playoffs. You also claimed the Lakers would win another championship easily. My bet is you will fade away like the lakers when they don’t win a championship.
You can sign a big then cut him. The point is obvious you lose two you should add one. What s the reason, just don’t understand that. Like poster said, they must be ok giving up 134 pts. I see Wiggins I see talent. Especially offensively. I’ve watched him since he came in. He came in entitled and just go’s for 20. You can teach a killer instinct. But You can’t make them Kobe. But you can make them responsible to their talent. To me his regression is due to coaching and confidence. I still see talent just not enough desire. It’s sad to me cause he’s still so young. If he can’t find that on the Warriors. He’s never going to find it. His D was so soft against Luka in last 3 mins. He gave up too much space. He let him get ball whenever he wanted. If you pick him up 3/4. If you chest him when you know they are trying to give him the ball. Make him work for it. Kill clock. He stood at least 3-4 feet away. And this is last mins of game back and forth. Bro he just wanted no part of it. Why was he even on Luka. Hate to say it. Jimmy Butler was right
Hey, it actually doesn’t matter if you give up 134 points and still win. 4th qtr garbage time is a real thing that exists, but you are saying it doesn’t. Just making up any reason out of thin air, devoid of facts and knowledge – it’s just anything to disparage GSW at this point, huh? Go back to twitter.
Exactly. If you WIN it doesn’t matter how many points you score. However if you lose to San Antonio by 3, you can’t storm the NBA offices and demand a recount. You have to live with the results even if you and all your friends are convinced the contest was “rigged”. Just something to keep in mind.
Who said the game was rigged? Warriors lost because they had to many TO. Refs did do a bad job but Spurs fans would say the same thing so that evens out.
You really think any of those FA bigs are better than Wiggins? They Dedmon once. He didn’t workout. He lasted 4 games.
Looks like the NBA is trying to justify their All-Star game by making even less sense with corona mitigation? A positive test 90 days ago means less time watching them for symptoms? Huh? This does not compute.
The NBA can goon it up, but players fall on the sword? Must be nice having expendables for these occasions.
I know this may sound silly but here me out:
Wiggins and that Twolves pick for DeRozan.
We (except delusional GSW fans who think that Wolves pick is heading west to the Bay). Wolves currently 2nd worst teams in the league, I don’t see that pick coming to GSW. They get rid of themselves a TERRIBLE contract in Wiggins, and get an actual semi playoff caliber experienced player in Derozan who can get buckets by himself which is crucial when teams will double Steph.
Spurs get that “pick” and a guy who they can build and accelerate the timeline to contend again. Free agents will never come to San Antonio, not with Houston and Dallas in the same state.
With a healthy and productive DeRozan, GSW make get to the WCF. Without him and keeping Wiggins they will be a 1st round exit team. Cap wise it makes sense too, I don’t care about luxury tax. I care about the actual cap to sign an actual bench. Some of these players on their bench should play overseas, that’s why they’re struggling against below average teams.
Oh and before Marty says “stick to your team you hater”. I have seen him post on Lavine topics too. It goes both ways. I don’t have a horse in this race but I see this trade making sense for both teams.
