Lakers superstar Anthony Davis has been cleared to advance his on-court activities after undergoing an evaluation on Friday, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. Davis hasn’t played in nearly six weeks due to a calf strain and tendinosis in his right leg.
“I mean, the truth is he gets evaluated every day,” head coach Frank Vogel said of Davis, as relayed by McMenamin. “You know what I mean? He does work, they treat him, they evaluate him. We’re in the middle of a ramp-up. But he’s still a ways away, so nothing concrete from a days [until return] standpoint right now.”
The advancements for Davis include “increased volume and intensity in shooting, dribbling, and position-specific drills,” a team spokesperson said. On the season, he’s averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 32.8 minutes per game, shooting 53% from the floor and 29% from three-point range.
The Lakers are also dealing with the loss of LeBron James, who’s expected to miss another three-to-five weeks due to a high ankle sprain. The team is 5-5 in its last 10 games and currently holds the fourth-best record in the Western Conference at 29-17.
So who makes it back first, Anthony Davis or LeBron James?
Lebron guaranteed.. they showed video of AD shooting and he had zero lift in his jump shot
That’s what I figured, so they could both be out until May. That means at least 10 more games without AD or LBJ, maybe even 20.
AD
Lakers are 29 – 17 today ….. as the 4th seed
They are only 1 1/2 gms in front of Nuggets and Blazers. Two teams who made significant upgrades to their teams at TD. Lakers can easily fall back to 6th seed. Then they would lose Hm court and play 3rd seed. Probably will be (Clippers, Suns, Nuggets).
Either one capable of ending their season. Especially if they don’t pickup a Big. Oh this will be fun playoffs this yr.
Id be happy w 6 seed….I think it gets worse 7 or 8 tho tbh
8 outta their 9 games in May games are involved with a back to back scenario so cant expect either player to play all those really
I don’t view homecourt as a big deal w this team tho, Ad’s ability to mentally climb close to 100% tho is a Huge concern I have…. I don’t know if he’s got that dog in him to push it outta his brain , not saying he doesn’t, but there’s probably more evidence he doesn’t than does if I take fanhood outta the equation.
lol where do you ppl pull this BS from? He’s either healthy or he’s not. It has nothing do with him having enough “dog” in him.
Nuggets and Blazers much better now. Also healthier. And Hm court by playoffs could be at 50%. I like Nuggets chances in west this yr.
I like Denver as well but I literally think anyone of 7 teams can win the West and it wouldn’t shock me in the slightest
Denver Utah Phx Clippers Blazers Lakers Mavs
I don’t think there’s an easy route for anyone and I don’t think homecourt plays much into who will come out.
This is great for the NBA imo, looking forward to this playoffs more than any other one this century
Home court is meaningless in the NBA, especially this year. LeBrons last year in CLE they got the 4 seed. When the time came they took game 7 on the road easily.
lol this is not the east..any west team can upset eachother
By the same token, even with Davis and James out, they are only 2 games behind the 2nd place Suns and 1 behind the 3rd place Clippers. They will be fine and both Davis and James will likely be 100% when it matters.
You think it’s fine to fall to sixth seed. Not saying they are in trouble or they will lose. But it gets harder to win from 6th or 7th seed. And this is a real scenario. Not made up by manipulating numbers. What does it matter what they are to Suns and Clippers. If they are missing their best two players for significant time. They have to look at whos in their rear view mirror. The two players the team was built around. You getting it now. You do understand Blazers and Nuggets made big moves. While as you pointed out (no Drummond yet) Lakers didn’t do anything. So as far as the season and the seeding goes. It looks like Lakers could fall and get themselves in a harder bracket. You getting it now. Or do I need to explain it again.
Man if he come back they gone be dope
No Injuries and long rest were the Keys to Lakers success to their astérisque title ***
They are both b-made
