Anthony Davis will miss a minimum of two more weeks as he continues to recover from a right calf strain, Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register relays (Twitter link).
The team said in a statement that Davis has been cleared to enter the “next phase of his return to play process.” However, the Lakers’ superstar big man won’t be re-evaluated again for two weeks.
Beginning with Friday’s contest against Indiana, the Lakers have a very busy schedule for the next couple weeks, as they’re scheduled to play nine games.
Davis was initially ruled out at least two or three weeks when he was first diagnosed with a right calf strain. That timeline was amended to four weeks on February 19, so Davis’ recovery has taken longer than expected.
Davis suffered the injury against the Nuggets on February 14. He was averaging 22.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG and 3.0 APG this season.
Bummer lakers without there mvp for another 2 weeks
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…… fudge cakes
you poor, long-suffering LA fans…
So he won’t be back until some time in April. Since he got hurt the Lakers have gone 4-7 and are now in 3rd place. It seems safe to assume he will miss at least the next 11 games, by that time they could be around 29-20 and possibly 5th or 6th in the West.
Rockets’ losing streak should be at least 25 games by then
For average teams like UTA the #1 seeding is vital to go far in the playoffs… for great teams like the LAL it makes no difference to end the season as #1 or #6 seeding in the WC… so, then, what is your point?
Lakers need to be a top four to have an easier path in the playoffs. It will be extremely hard for them to win it all if they are below that . Images playing the suns , Utah , clippers on the way to the finals ? That would be exhausting for Lebron and Davis . And if they are able to survive then they will have to play Nets or Phili or Bucks . Good luck with that . Home court advantage is key this season since it is a pact short season . It’s not the bubble mode we’re Lakers thrived .
we’re= where
Lakers need Bron and AD healthy for the playoffs.
That’s it.
Nothing else matters to laker fans, we only hang championship banners.
The Clippers, Jazz, and Suns care about regular season.
3/6
4/5
Don’t really matter much as long as they snag a top 6 – The road has shown to be no obstacle in the Lebron Laker years. All the draws are going to be difficult, no need trying to massage the regular season standings
First off they are not 4-7 without just AD, Schroder missed some time due to covid in those games also! Second the Jazz are more than average! Third LAL are not a great team… They are average at best!
Aren’t you the Harden MVP guy? How’s everything going? Just an idea: ever consider PJTuckerForA2ndRoundPick as a handle?
Mr. Fragile out again.
AD is an all-NBA player on the favorite to win the title.
I’m not saying his injury is fake, but being that he has one and the league rule on resting players down the stretch is what it is, they’ll stretch this out as long as they can.
He’ll be back for the last 10 or so tune up games of the regular season. If this were the playoffs, I bet he’d already be back.
Can you please let the rest of us get a post in before you come and summarize the article perfectly, it’s rather annoying !!
Alright, because you asked nicely, I’ll just post the most ignorant homer nonsense I can think of for the next few days, and let rational conversation fall to everyone else…
…Tbh, AD is probably sitting out bc he’s unhappy in LAL, this is all part of him Harden-ing (or AD-ing) his way out.
AD and Kostas to Milwaukee for Brook Lopez, Augustin, Wilson, Forbes, Craig, Merrill, and as many picks/swaps as it takes to seal that up. Git ‘er done!
Yea, I put the O/U at 12 games
I think the mental hurdles might be harder than the physical ones to overcome ultimately for 21
