The Thunder have signed center Moses Brown to a multi-year contract, converting his deal from a two-way contract, the team announced in a press release.
Brown, 21, most recently tallied 21 points and 23 rebounds in the team’s loss to Boston on Saturday, displaying serious flashes of potential. The 7’2″ big man went undrafted in 2019 and has spent most of the 2020/21 season in the G League.
Brown, who received All-NBA G League First Team honors, averaged 18.5 points, 13.9 rebounds and 26.4 minutes in 14 games with the OKC Blue. He’s appeared in 16 games with the Thunder this season and has emerged as a valuable young prospect for the club as it shifts its attention toward the future.
In addition to Brown, Oklahoma City owns an abundance of draft assets and contains a young core of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort and others.
This guy is huge. A real nose for the ball and some nice skills too. A bright spot for OKC’s future.
Archbishop Molloy, Awesome news, NY Kid.
He was a great find. OKC has a bright future!
No more wandering the desert; he’s found a home
I watched the OKC – Celtics game last night… How was Moses undrafted? Seems like a big mistake by every team.
at ucla he was slow and flat footed seemingly. he’s grown a little bit more, moving more fluid, and is more agile now. he may of just finally caught up with his body. just a completely different player coming out high school and college.
Thanks.
He has a bright future in the NBA
I was just looking at him yesterday after all the Drummond news. Wowsers …. definitely put up some nice stats in G-league. And is a true center, NYer all right. Molloy HS is my old neighborhood. Was thinking if Knicks could sign him. If he wasn’t an OKC player under their control. Can’t believe it, wonder why sign him now. We could definitely use him now. Good for him he’s getting his shot, represent.
I watched him in high school at Molloy. Good to see him get a chance. He does need lots of work. His primary offensive “weapon” is the dunk. That’s great but he will need to develop more game facing the basket. His post up/back to the basket skills are limited. OKC seems to be working with him. Developing guys at the NBA level is a challenge. Then again you can’t teach someone to be 7 foot.
Dort, SGA, and Moses Brown will definitely be the league’s next Big 3.
Still better than anythin’ HOU can put together, right?
Blazers had him and couldn’t find a way to keep him, even at the end of the bench? Wow. He’s already better than Zach Collins.
