Kyle Lowry‘s future is the focus around the NBA right now, Shams Charania said on Stadium’s live trade deadline show on Twitter.
According to Charania, the Raptors remain seriously engaged with the Heat and Lakers, having been offered packages headed by Duncan Robinson (Miami) or Dennis Schröder and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (L.A.). Toronto is pushing for the inclusion of Tyler Herro or Talen Horton-Tucker in any deal with the Heat or Lakers, says Charania.
Charania adds that the Heat are believed to be Lowry’s preferred destination.
Here’s more from around the league:
- The Knicks have remained engaged with the Pelicans today about a possible Lonzo Ball trade, per Ian Begley of SNY.tv. New York is also receiving inquiries on center Mitchell Robinson, according to Begley, though it’s not clear if the team is open at all to moving Robinson.
- As of earlier this afternoon, the Suns weren’t close to making any deals, and all signs pointed to them standing pat at the deadline, tweets John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7.
- The Nuggets are likely done dealing after agreeing to trades for Aaron Gordon and JaVale McGee, tweets Mike Singer of The Denver Post.
Heat, Lakers, Raps
I’m not trading Robinson for Ball. Is Obi expendable with the play of Randle? Frank, Obi, and two number ones for Ball.
Two number one’s? That’s a lot to offer up.
I’ll have what you’re smoking.
Damn that’s a lot to give up for a rental that’s currently injured with his hip flexor.
So tell me what’s it going to take to get Ball. Ball could be great in NY
Knox, Frank, 1st round pick.
Why give up a 1 when Ball is a FA this summer?
Hopefully he resigns in NY if they get him. Frank and Knox not enough they need to include draft pick
i would say a 1st + frank and salary filler would be fair,
idk if new orleans is even looking to resign him so if they get a decent pick that should be enough
Frank, Obi, and two 1s would be a fireable offense. That is a shockingly bad deal for the Knicks. Even if it were for multiple years of Ball, that would be an awful deal, but Ball is a free agent at the end of the season.
I don’t know what it would take to get a deal done, but that is a crazy overpay you’ve proposed. Essentially three number 1s plus Frank for an expiring contract. Madness.
Dude stick to the Yankees please …….
By the way their spending ways have also changed. Ball is a FA. Mitch is from NO. They would have to give up Ball and a #1 pick. Knicks are not giving up picks unless it’s for Beal ….
But it is true with Randle emergence. Obi1 could be used in a trade. Ball is not resigning with NO. We don’t have to trade for him. We are not doing the Mello thing all over again. It’s a new day in MSG. Dolan has been sitting quietly, don’t wake him up. PLEASE
Toppin has far more market value than Ball alone. It’s the contracts that are being traded (RSC-yr 1 vs expiring, with RFA rights). Any team that would have drafted him in the top 10 or so would certainly send at least a top 15-20 pick to the Knicks for him (that’s still a 50% decrease in value from where he was selected). If Ball had that value, he’d be gone. Pels can’t get a 1st for him, only other expiring RSC’s.
i think there are a lot of conflicting opinions on both obi and ball
obi has not looked great so far and hes old for a rookie. but if youre gonna give a rookie a pass it should be this season w/ covid + his injury + randle emerging
with ball …. i mean idk. hes not a star. im not even sure hes a starting pg. i think he has the making of 3&D guy with some playmaking ability thrown in for good measure. but im not sure id want nyk to sign him long term for 20m+
The best deal the Knicks can make is no deal at all.
