The clock is ticking on the trade deadline, with less than 90 minutes to go. Here are a few tidbits about possible last-minute deals:
- ESPN is reporting that the Sixers have dropped their pursuit of Kyle Lowry after trading for George Hill, but the Heat are still trying to acquire the Raptors‘ point guard, tweets Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. A source tells Jackson the Lakers and Clippers have also contacted Toronto about Lowry.
- The Clippers have asked the Hawks about point guard Rajon Rondo, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN (Twitter link from Mirjam Swanson of The Southern California News Group). L.A. was interested in signing Rondo in free agency, but he opted for a two-year, $15MM deal with Atlanta.
- After acquiring All-Star center Nikola Vucevic from the Magic, the Bulls are trying to shake up their roster ever further, tweets K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports. Chicago is still talking to the Pelicans about Lonzo Ball, but New Orleans wants more than Lauri Markkanen in return. The Bulls used a lot of their draft capital in the Vucevic deal.
- Offers for Thaddeus Young haven’t improved enough for the Bulls to consider moving him, tweets Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times.
- The Warriors could be a possible destination for Sixers guard Danny Green, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times (Twitter link).

Why can’t Green find a team and stay? I think he’s a very solid 3andD player. He must be horrible in the clubhouse. The guy always makes HUGE shots in the playoffs.
He had a pretty solid run with the Spurs. But guys like him are good enough to stay in the league but not so good that they are hard to replace.
Lol Danny Green is not “horrible in the clubhouse” he’s just kinda old and not that good. I remember him missing a game winning shot in the playoffs during the raptors run actually lol… TOR still wanted to keep him but it appears he wanted to “ring chase” at this stage of his career, which is fine
I don’t think it has anything to do with his attitude or the sort, doesn’t seem to be a locker room issue. The Lakers moved him because he didn’t play like he did in Toronto. A quick look at his numbers in San Antonio show that he basically played at the same level. At the end of the day, he’s a solid 3-and-D guy but not necessarily an elite defender. He can be an elite shooter as well but is prone to being wildly inconsistent. The issue with Green (at least right now) is that he isn’t worth his price and he’s a niche player to a degree. A solid rotation player but not a “piece of the puzzle” type of player.
He was with the Spurs for 9 years, so I don’t quite understand what makes you think he can’t stick with a team. He’s essentially only been traded twice in a 13 year career.
Danny Green and Korkmaz or Joe for Oubre, yes please.
1. Simmons. Hill. Milton
2. Curry. Maxey
3. Oubre. Thybulle
4. Harris. Scott. Reed
5. Embiid. Howard
Sixers have a very solid team, great versatility, loads of shooters, some great defenders, great depth, good mix of experience and youth and it seems everyone is locked in and focused. I think we have a really good shot at possibly making out the east and winning it this year
Not if they get up 3-1.
Doc, Simmons, and Embiid will win games but a poor mix to win a championship.
Not happening.
Bulls need a PG that’s all that’s missing! I wonder if they wait for FA to get their guy. Time will tell.
NO sure thinks Lonzo is gonna pull a haul. Markannen straight up seems fair, but maybe they should try Markannen and Satoransky for Brogdon instead.
The Pacers definitely don’t need another big, especially one that might require a decent salary.
Bulls could pass on Ball, and instead offer Young for Bledsloe and Hart.
Bledsloe LaVine Williams Markeneen Vucevic
White Hart Brown Aminu Wagner
Satoransky
Young will not haul both Bledsoe and Hart.
I actually think that would be a steal for NO. Bledsoe has basically negative value and Hart is a solid wing off the bench.
I wonder if the Sixers really have given up their pursuit for Lowry. They traded none of the assets that have been mentioned in Lowry deals in the Hill deal, Hill has experience starting and coming off the bench, and the Sixers didn’t have a true backup PG to start off with. Moving Ben to the PF spot where he can pass out of the low block, adding Lowry and moving Hill to the bench would leave a crazy lineup of (assuming they give up Green, Scott, one of Maxey or Thybulle from the roster):
PG – Lowry, Hill
SG – Curry, Shake, Maxey/Thybulle
SF – Harris, Korkmaz
PF – Simmons,
C – Embiid, Howard
Pick up another PF in the buyout market, or have Harris split time at the 3 and 4 with Thybulle or a buyout SF moving up and you have a really dangerous looking team.
What makes Hill so special he seems to always be on the move every year. Does anyone remember it was Hill that missed a FT to make JR Smith have one of the biggest mistakes in playoff history.
Maxey, Thybulle, and two firsts is crazy for a rental? nah, not interested. sorry Kyle.
Coby White/Denzel Valentine for Ball makes too much sense for both sides. NO doesn’t wanna pay Ball this summer, Coby White has shown glimpses that get you excited but he’s not a NBA PG and Donovan has soured on him. The salaries match up, the Pels can make a low risk gamble to catch lightning in the bottle, the Bulls audition Ball for a couple months and sees if he is a good blend with Lavine and Vucevic before having to decide whether or not to pay him 18 mil + a year.
If your Chicago don’t you trade first round picks for Ball instead of Vucevic. Don’t think Vucevic is worth 2 draft picks. Am I wrong?
Vucevic is worth a lot more!!!
That was a steal!!!
