With Jamal Murray sidelined, Michael Porter Jr. will be the No. 2 option for the Nuggets in the playoffs alongside likely Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic. Porter is looking forward to showcasing the growth of his game on the big stage, according to Mike Singer of the Denver Post.
“I’m welcoming it, I’m embracing it,” Porter said. “It’s where I wanted to be. Progressing, taking a jump. I want to take a jump every year, I’m never going to be content. … I’m excited to see what teams throw at me, and how I’m going to overcome those situations.”
Porter is eligible for a rookie scale extension prior to next season.
We have more from the Northwest Division:
- Thunder GM Sam Presti was impressed by the performance of first-year coach Mark Daigneault during a rebuilding season, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman tweets. “I think he did an excellent job … There was a significant amount of adjustments he had to make,” Presti said.
- Rudy Gobert only missed one game this season and his impact on the Jazz is undeniable, according to Sarah Todd of the Deseret News. Gobert led the league in total plus-minus at plus-728 and ranked first in the NBA in defensive rating (100.6), defensive win shares (5.2) and total blocks (190). “When you look at other players in the league, his impact is at the highest level,” coach Quin Snyder said.
- The Timberwolves have a solid starting five, regardless of how the draft lottery shakes out, Jim Souhan of the Minnesota Star Tribune writes. They also have some good young pieces on the bench and therefore they don’t need saviors, just more experience and growth, Souhan adds.
Ahahahahhahahaha warriors lost
Steve Kerr should be fired, right Marty?
Not sure about that, but the GM has his work cut out for him retooling the roster and building a contender. And boy did Wiggins disappear or what tonight? Horrible. Played so well against the Lakers and flop like this in a huge game. Wow.
Many people in Minnesota considered him to be a bust, and even though he has been better with Golden State thus far, it’s still more than fair to call Wiggins a major disappointment considering he was the #1 overall pick in 2014. Big fan of his dad, but not him.
22 points and 10 rebounds
10/22 shooting and his defense was ok (two blocks, and good one one)
Green with 5 Tournovers, Bazemore was terrible in the second half
And Wiggs was the problem?
The last five minutes of the game and overtime Wiggins was a major problem. 30 million dollars you figure you could go to your big money guy for a basket or two don’t you think?
Okay so according to you kingsforever2, Kyle Anderson 2-7, 9 pts had a crummy game? How about Dillon Brooks? 7-22 and 14 points? Horrible game right?
My goodness do these people pay attention when they watch games or they just look at the box scores? Oh sorry I guess I’m the one not paying attention. A king’s fan logically will be tearing into a warrior fan after a VERY DISAPPOINTING LOSS. Understood.
By the way, you bring up green, and he didn’t get it done either. He and Curry couldn’t get them over the hump and had terrible turnovers in the last five minutes and overtime. I’m just saying it would have been nice if their 30 million dollar starting small forward could have done a little better than 1-8 in the last five minutes and overtime. He probably wasn’t 1-8 but it sure seemed like it !!
Relaxed guys. Wigg’s contract is too high. No question. And? Was that why the defense was bad? Are 22 points bad? He did not hit 2 throws in the overtime and played through in the 4th quarter. Memphis has better support cast. Who Said Brooks Was Bad or Anderson?
But Wiggs scoring, defense, and hustle was okey. Mabye, ist 15 – 18 Mio fair, but that’s not Wiggs problem
Wiggs is not a star but a strong role player. The Wolves gave him the contract. I would have taken the money too
Did you not watch the end of the 4th quarter and overtime?
Yeah pretty bummed out the Warriors lost. But it was an entertaining game and I was on my toes the whole time. I guess that’s all you can ask for.
Curry shoulda split that stagger and got the wide open shot himself instead of passing it to Draymond. And, since he did pass it, Draymond gotta shoot the wide open 15, 14, 13, 12-footer instead of goin in looking to pass and ultimately shoot a half-hearted flip-shot. Searching for too many options instead of taking the one given to you on a platter.
I know Curry wishes he had that one back. Imo, that decision was as bad as some of his turnovers. Was such an easy play for a player of his caliber. Was it unselfishness? Making “the right play”. Or fatigue (mental/physical) ? Or all 3…
Yea Sure, Pass me some more of that Kool-Aid !!
With a record this past season of :
A WHOPPING total of 23 wins,
And ONLY 49 losses.
ANYONE can plainly see that the Timberpuppies DO NOT NEED ANY PLAYERS out of the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft. Their roster, as it stands right now, is stacked for the 2022 NBA Championship.
Good thing the team went 5-5 over the last ten games, otherwise they would have been in contention for the FIRST PICK in the draft and been faced with the possibility of having to disrupt the make-up of their roster to accommodate the addition of a TOP THREE PLAYER. Fortunately, thanks to superb asset management, the team does not even have to worry about EVEN PARTICIPATING in the 2021 draft.
WATCH OUT FOR THE 2022 TIMBERPUPPIES !!
I hear you, the Warriors are not much better shape. There’s still a chance the wolves keep the pic this year.., they could land the top three. Add a stud and the wolves are much improved. At least their core is Young and you can build upon that a little easier than a core of early 30’s guys. Ping pong ball bounces the right way and the wolves are in business.
I remember a few months ago Marty said “Wiggins is like MJ except without the clutch trait”. Boy Marty nailed THAT prediction,
didn’t he?
Grizzlies coach got away with a bonehead move by not challenging that foul near the end of regulation on that three pointer. Poole clearly kicked his leg out to draw a foul. Absurd that they didn’t challenge.
Probably worried the refs might call a shooting foul. I think they’re supposed to, not that I agree.
Memphis has someone to blanket Curry. Denver wishes they had similar to blanket Lilliard.
At the end of their games, Dray was a joke left wide open top of the lane, while Morant scored about ten there.
Wiggins was a bum in MN….. took his money and gave zero effort on D and never got a ounce better from the day he got his max contract.
