The Bucks will be without forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo for at least the next two weeks due to a right leg injury he suffered during the regular season finale on Sunday, the club announced today in a press release.
After undergoing an MRI on Monday to assess the injury, Antetokounmpo was diagnosed with an avulsion fracture to the right patella tendon, the Bucks said in their statement. He’ll be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Antetokounmpo, the older brother of Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, wasn’t expected to play a major role for Milwaukee in the playoffs, so the injury shouldn’t have a real impact on the club’s rotation. Still, the 28-year-old did play a minor role for the Bucks this season, averaging 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in 57 contests (9.7 MPG).
*Henceforth the immortal Giannis responded with a vengeance, scorching the Heat in the tournament opener…*
Isn’t it interesting that one sibling becomes a superstar while the other just isn’t at that level? They’re both in the NBA, which is amazing in itself, but it’s gotta be kind of tough on the older brother that he can’t figure out the game to the same level.
Then there’s Kostas too
Well there might be 4 in the league in a few years. Would be funny if all 4 were on one team
At least for one season
Thatd be kind of freaky no pun intended
I don’t think you know what a pun is.
liangelo ball wants another beer.
Isn’t it interesting that one gets an NBA job because his brother is an All Star MVP should be the question. Is he even on a team without his last name?
Possibly not, but does it matter? He’s contributed at times this year. It’s not like he’s the last man off the bench. Playing in 57 games is not something a guy that wasn’t capable of playing would be allowed to do at the NBA level.
Yeah, it’s one thing to take a flyer on a guy because of family upside, but giving up a roster spot based only on a last name? Too much money on the line to mess around like that. The guy earned it. Up to him whether he keeps it.
I think it was one of those moves the Bucks felt they had to make in the run up to getting Giannis extended on that super max deal. Otherwise yeah, I don’t think he probably makes the cut on a Bucks team. But it seems as though he’s done enough to stick around, so good on him.
Alex is just about to graduate high school, too, right?
he’s already playing in spain right now.
