Suns forward Abdel Nader is expected to be available for Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Clippers on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic tweets.
Nader underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in late April. Nader was also sidelined for several games early in the regular season due to a concussion.
Nader appeared in 24 games this season, averaging 6.7 PPG while making a career-best 41.9% of his 3-point attempts. He hasn’t seen any action since March 21.
It’s unlikely that coach Monty Williams will play Nader at this stage of the postseason, but it does give him another wing option at his disposal. Nader will be an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the season.
Yessir that’s my guy! Also my favorite player in the western conference
He is more skilled than given credit for.
He can hit 3’s, coming in cold. Anyone who can do that is useful. Nadler, Craig, Moore, Kaminsky, Carter – just low paid guys on the border of the rotation. But PHX has more useful guys there than most teams, who just stockpile young guys there who can only really play during garbage time.
Nader can defend, put the ball on the floor, make plays, gets to loose balls, and knock down shots from the 3/2 spots
Javon Carter is a very good-elite level defender, has a good basketball IQ, can make plays for his teammates, and knock down shots
Craig also does a lot of what Nader does, but some things better, and some things maybe slightly not as well, but he is more of a straight up wing piece, although he can defend up or down a position, depending on the lineups and who they’re playing
Kaminsky plays hard, has a high basketball IQ, can defend pretty well, can put the ball on the floor, knock down shots, pass put of multiple areas of the floor as a big. Kind of similar to Kelly Olynyk, maybe slightly better in certain areas, and slightly worse in others
Moore can score at the 2/3 spots, and also give you minutes at PG. He can shoot the 3, and ismt too much of a ball stopper. Adequate-decent defender, sometimes worse, sometimes better, depending on who else in on the floor woth him/his matchup
That’s not even mentioning Langston Galloway, who can play both guard spots, defend adequately-well, slightly worse sometimes against certain guards with size, is a really good catch and shoot shooter, makes plays…
Depth matters, especially depth that allows you to win different ways, and matchup against different types of teams
Thoughts and prayers. He will be missed. RIP
?????
Pretty bad knee.
