Hawks star Trae Young has been ruled out for Game Four, report ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews.
According to Andrews and Wojnarowski, Young made every effort to be ready to play, but was hampered by a severe lack of mobility and amount of pain. The star point guard suffered a bone bruise and tweaked ankle in Game Three loss to the Bucks when he stepped on the foot of a referee while trying to get back on defense.
Young had previously gone through shoot-around, and had “looked good,” according to teammate Onyeka Okongwu. With the Hawks down two games to one in the series against the Bucks, this news comes as a devastating blow. Young’s availability for future games remains in question. He will continue to rehab and hopes to be ready for Game Five, tweets Wojnarowski.
Bogdan Bogdanovic, who has been hampered with right knee soreness, is available to play.
Bucks vs Suns nba Finals
It could be the Revenge of the Coin Flip Finals.
For those that don’t know, the pick used to select Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) was awarded to the Bucks who won a coin flip with the Suns for the #1 pick. This was pre-lottery, so the worst team got #1 and those two teams were tied. The Bucks got Alcindor and the Suns selected Neal Walk with the #2 pick. Needless to say it was probably the worst coin flip loss in sports history.
But the Bucks only got one chip out of Kareem before trading him to the Lakers, who completely owned the 80’s winning five rings.
Still it was one more than the Suns got with Walk. And since when is it referred to as “only one” championship? “only one” championship still means that every player on that Bucks team is an NBA champion for life.
Not yet Silli
The games was tied 2-2 sillyman
And if Giannis misses time the Bucks aren’t winning without him.
Thoughts and prayers.
…for a bone bruise…in his foot…
I think he’ll be alright.
all these bum injuries!! Bucks might still lose
They might still win too.
Hawks keep fighter, never die
fighter will be in their will.
The last pp especially falling after the ad is so sad lol. Go Hawks tho
I know pp but daddy is waiting for the ads. Don’t be sad, Go Hawks.
Oh no! We suck again! Seriously, it’s the story of the Hawks season. Luckily they’re deep enough to compete. They did beat Milwaukee earlier this year without Trae.
No team in the playoffs depend more than the hawks depend on Young. If they pull off the upset tonight you got to give their coach the award for coach of the year.
I guess you can get that award ready for him.
giannis went down in the third so that even things out. Hawks did out coach the Bucks. Hawks defense shut down the Bucks. Not sure why Bucks ran the same offensive plays when they were not working at all.
The others will rally to be the Young.
Good bye ATL
That post didn’t age well
I think this might be the first time I have read about Onyeka Okongwu since the draft. Good to see he is adapting from big time prospect to message boy.
message boy?
Sorry, messenger boy.
That also makes no sense
Let me see if I can make it simple enough for you. Okongwu is mentioned in the story only as giving information about Trae Young. He is not mentioned as a big time prospect or a first round pick, he is just quoted as saying Young “looked good.” Either you get it or you don’t, let’s move on.
Welp. The Hawks are proving tonight that their success is the result of a lot more than just Trae Young. They are a very good team. I couldn’t have asked for a better Eastern Conference Finals. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for both teams. I would be happy with either team getting to the finals.
I wouldn’t. Bucks are flat out unlikable.
Unless you are the Grinch and predisposed to liking the color green and have a tiny hart you’re cheering on the Hawks.
Are they? I don’t really follow NBA well enough to know too many details. They always seemed like underdogs, which is what my dumbass has always been drawn to in sports. But I could be wrong.
They were until they got out-underdogged by this ATL team. Trae walked in with so many doubters and has lit it up. John Collins post game personality is A+.
PJ Tucker was a fun ahole against KD, but against the Hawks it isn’t as cute. Meanwhile 2x MVP Giannis should be murdering, but instead he disappears and expects his team to do the work for him.
Just my opinion, and I hate the Hawks, but I’ll root for them over this MIL team 8 days a week.
Giannis is proving his two MVP’s aren’t as well-deserved at people thought. And they absolutely hate Harden, so they couldn’t give him another MVP in 2019 despite his historic season averaging 36 PPG.
So they go ahead and give it to Giannis instead. Then his team has the best record in the NBA in 2020, so they give him another MVP after his team lost in 5 games to Miami in the 2nd round.
This year with Giannis Fever starting to fade away, he finished in a distant 4th place in the MVP vote as people begin to realize he’s not as great as they once thought. And now he’s hurt, too bad.
Yes ^^^
What’s brutal is coach Bud will get the axe as the scapegoat, and sure he’s not totally blameless, but people act like replacing him is the key to Bucks winning a trophy.
Mike Dantoni winning a title in Milwaukee in 2022?
Oh sorry, that’s your cue to laugh.
Yeah, the Hawks definitely are a bigger underdog. But when you watch them play, you realize this team is just really, really good. They could be a force for the next few years. If the Hawks win, I’ll be glad. Hawks/Suns or Hawks/Clippers would be a very cool and unexpected finals in the era of super teams. Young’s a superstar, no doubt.
Side note: What team do you like best? Just wondering. I’m a lifelong Trailblazers fan and I absolutely hate what is happening to that team right now. Haha.
Definitely a big Tropics guy, all about the throwback. Jackie Moon ability on the floor very underrated IMO.
Gonna get an extension cord and hang myself sexy.
