6:08pm: It’s believed the Bucks would give Antetokounmpo the green light to play in Game 7 if he sits out on Saturday and the Hawks win, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports tweets.
4:33pm: Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is once again listed as doubtful to play as the team attempts to clinch the Eastern Conference Finals in Atlanta on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic tweets.
Hawks star guard Trae Young is listed as questionable to play in Game 6 by his team with the season on the line, Marc Stein of the New York Times tweets.
With both of the teams’ top players sitting out, Milwaukee took a 3-2 lead in the series with a 123-112 win on Thursday. Antetokounmpo suffered a hyperextension of his left knee in Game 4, while Young sustained a right foot bone bruise in Game 3.
Hawks wing Bogdan Bogdanovic, who scored a team-high 28 points in Game 5, is listed as probable despite right knee soreness.
What’s the difference between doubtful and questionable? Seriously, can’t we just use “maybe” for both players?
I mean grab a dictionary and you’ll see they have two different meanings. Not everything in the world needs to be simplified
Words are hard
Doubtful means not likely. Questionable means somewhat. Probable means very likely. Same reason they have 3 All NBA teams — Jokic isn’t the same as Gobert
“Probable” means 75% chance of playing, “questionable” 50% and “doubtful” 25%. So basically, someone listed as probable is expected to play, someone listed as doubtful is expected not to play, and with questionable is a coin toss
Search “NBA injury reports” or “NBA injury designations” or “NBA participation status”. NBA rules require an injury designation for each player that is part of an injury report, and defines them. Basically, GA isn’t playing, and TY might or might not.
Makes sense for Milwaukee. Either give Giannis time til the Finals or at least give him a better chance of playing G7.
I wonder if Atlanta let’s Trae suit up then keeps on the bench to start – see if the home crowd can give them a boost to start.
There’s a lot of calculus for both sides — the path to a ring will probably never be this easy again, but at the same time it’s your franchise guy that’s at risk.
I feel bad for the Suns franchise.. they will earn their title.. but it will have a *** in history as the playoffs where everyone fell down in front of them. Unfair.. but sadly true
They will for this summer but people tend to forget. In 5-10-20 years only the true die hards will remember.
Even look at 19 – does Kawhi get a ring if Klay and KD don’t suffer severe injuries? Yet we all worship Kawhi as the guy who won in SA and Toronto
The 2021 Suns probably aren’t as good as the 2019 Raptors were. It’s all about luck.
Agreed I’d take the 19 Raptors over these Suns too.
Which the Rockets don’t have.
Yes. Suns would not have won if AD did not get injured. But its all part of the game.
No asterisks. Players got hurt even with significant rest. Injuries happen. It is what it is.
If you feel bad for a team that made it to the NBA finals who do you feel good for?
So Jere, you’ve already crowned the Suns as champs?
A lot of people similarly declared that the Nets were a sure thing.
There’s a lot of basketball yet to be played.
So you all noticed how well the Buck offense flowed without Giannis. The game. Lopez looked smooth in the post.
Lopez is a hulking beast that few can match up with in size. Additionally, he has played 1 on 1 against his equally sized brother his whole life so Capela and Ayton (if they make the Finals) have it tough.
Are you under the impression that Capela and Ayton are comparable in size?
