AUGUST 6: Hood, who was cut by the Raptors on Tuesday and cleared waivers on Thursday, has officially signed with the Bucks, according to the team (Twitter link).
AUGUST 3: Rodney Hood will sign a one-year deal with the Bucks, tweets ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hood is still on the Raptors‘ roster after agreeing last week to delay his salary guarantee date until today. Toronto plans to release Hood, who will sign with Milwaukee after clearing waivers, Woj adds (Twitter link).
The 28-year-old swingman started last season with the Trail Blazers before being shipped to Toronto at the trade deadline. He saw his playing time cut to a career-low 12.7 minutes per game with the Raptors and averaged 3.9 PPG and 1.8 RPG.
In Milwaukee, Hood will help make up for the loss of P.J. Tucker, who is headed to Miami in free agency. Hood’s contract is likely for the veterans minimum, considering the Bucks’ salary situation.
Wow this is a solid pickup. They need a D stud to guard big 3s. Need to replace Tucker. Adding Rodney is a solid choice. Nice move
I dunno, he was healthy in Toronto and didn’t look great.
I like it. Low risk with decent upside. Two good minimum finds in two days. Who is going to be the MLE?
This is a really good move for the Bucks.
Warriors offer T MLE to Patty Mills
Lakers also make offer to him
Why not spend MLE on Drummond or Hood
Drummond will not fit well in the bucks with the Greek freak . In Phili he can have more playing time and start when embid rest or injured. Laker also tried him and he did not fit. I believe they are going to play AD more at center. Toronto or Miami should of tried to sign him even nets should of.
Damn, I was hoping the Celtics would grab him to replace Semi.
I like it. A recently underperforming guy entering his prime who may find reinvigoration and a ring like Portis.
Raptors fan here.
I was excited for the Hood pick up when we first got him to.
I guess I just remembered how good he was in Utah. He must have had a few knee injuries along the way because he was not the same player when he came here.
Hopefully he can recover and become a healthier player for you guys, because those knees looked shot.
I figure it’s a min salary deal so there isn’t much to lose by signing him.
