Free agent swingman Danny Green has been in contact with the Sixers multiple times over the past two days, according to Harrison Sanford, co-host of Green’s The Green Room podcast (Twitter link).
Sandford said that as of this afternoon, the two sides were nowhere close to a deal, and that the Bucks, Celtics, Bulls and Pelicans have all reached out as well. He adds in a separate tweet that Green has pre-existing relationships with both Ime Udoka of the Celtics and Mike Budenholzer of the Bucks from his time with the Spurs.
We have more free agency rumors:
- The Cavaliers have had some discussions about the possibility of a sign-and-trade for Pelicans restricted free agent forward Josh Hart, sources tell Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com (Twitter link). Without a sign-and-trade agreement, Cleveland would be limited to offering Hart the full mid-level exception, which New Orleans would presumably match.
- Alex Caruso agreed to sign with the Bulls for four years, $37MM, and according to Zach Lowe of ESPN (hat tip to RealGM), the Lakers‘ offer to keep him was nowhere close to what was offered by Chicago. Ramona Shelburne added that – before Caruso agreed to his deal with the Bulls – the Timberwolves inquired about acquiring him in a sign-and-trade that would have included Marc Gasol, but didn’t have any luck.
- According to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago (Twitter link), Bulls general manager Marc Eversley was crucial in securing a commitment from DeMar DeRozan, as the two had a long-standing relationship from when Eversley was the assistant general manager for the Raptors. The Bulls’ GM flew to Los Angeles to meet with DeRozan in person and had a “fruitful” two-hour meeting, per Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated (Twitter link).
Alex Caruso has positive trade value
Lakers can deal him for another asset at the trade deadline
Lakers need 5 young players
Isn’t Caruso supposed to be signing with the Bulls?
And he’s way too young for the Lakers. They’re chasing cougars now.
Talking to yourself again …. Silly
Do t you read the story that’s printed ????
Just in a hurry to talk to yourself. Like setting up a joke.???? No talent lol

Monk, Nunn, THT, Bazemore, Ellington, yup
VeryOld.
According to my count, the Lakers have 12-13 players signed, and at least 8 of them are 32 years old or older. They’re pretty old.
I’d say for NBA over 35 is old. And he said signed.
And it’s not age, it’s who’s age. I’m not a Laker fan. A team is 15 deep. They only need their core to be ready for playoffs. I think we probably should wait for opening day rosters.
Just signed Monk (23) & Nunn (26) THT (21?) there’s a lame narrative out there, but it comes from hatred & lack of rings.
The bulls have a ton of Gs on the roster. LaVine, Crauso, Ball, White and DeRozan. I think DeRozan is more of a SG over a SF
DeRozan is 6-6, 220 so he’s plenty big enough to play SF. And he’s not a very good 3-point shooter either so he’s not really a SG in that regard.
They do have a lot at guard, which is one reason why DDR will continue at the 3 if not 4. Popovich could figure it out. Derozan avgd 1 3pt & 14 2pt shots a game, and likes quick offense in the paint.
Forward is much less crowded on the Bulls, assuming Markkanon & Aminu are out. Young may be too, though he would be missed. Pat Williams, a keeper, should be a 3. DDR is a point forward, if Donovan can handle that.
I was planning on dismissing the Bulls and have, but now they look strong.
I like Patrick Williams at 3. However, he is certainly big enough to guard 4s. He is really what we should see as ‘unicorn’, a muscular physical big who is also quick enough to guard anyone on the court. Williams has a true shot as well, just a routine, mechanical assurity from mid-range and a reasonable prayer from farther.
He reminds me of young Barkley but probably with more basketball smarts. 8)) Also way quieter and humbler as his idol is Kawhi.
Interesting on Minny/Caruso – Wonder if Malik was a name talked …
Either way looks like Genie isn’t spending another dime more than the vet min so a Dennis S&T would only be for a TPE
Not just Jeannie Buss anymore, Lakers have new minority owners, same dudes that bought into the Dodgers and they’re mega rich….probably why they weren’t concerned this year with luxury tax
If they’re not concerned about money, then why don’t they sign Schroder? They have his Bird rights. He’s more talented than a lot of the minimum salary guys they just signed.
Nunn is easier to control than Schroder… Almost anyone is. Schroder is best when he takes off to the rim unpredictably, which can make teammates mad over time, and one is LJ.
If Nunn misses games like he did in Miami, there will be more questions asked in LA. But I think it was Spoelstra’s call and Nunn went with it.
I agree Jeff, money is a concern, there could be another 12 mil player rostered (or Caruso) if it wasn’t –
I can’t blame them tho if they are getting Monk on a min.
This is a 2 yr playbook now; then 23′ we will have a ton of cash. I have to say I’m happy with how yr 1 went where we sit today.
I really dont understand the fit of DeRozan in the Bulls. Danny Green would make a lot of sense for both the Bulls and New Orleans, although the DeRozan thing makes that a little weirder in terms of rotation spots. New Orleans cant lise Josh Hart, in my opinion, but Cleveland would be a really good fit, if they could somehow get him, among a bunch of others
I am now wondering about how much Danny Green might get paid now, in terms of options that have cap space, and wonder if my initial thoughts about his market are just wrong, and if that Heat rumor has actual credibility now. If so, that would be amazing
Congrats to Bulls & Caruso getting 4/$37m when the Lakers seem to prioritize others, or a different philosophy. More minutes on the Bulls even with Lonzo.
Get one more Ball and the backcourt would be Bull’s Balls.
Derozan & Lonzo signed for the same 4/$85, which should help unity.
Derozan got 3/85 not 4
I think bringing Danny Green back would be a good fit for the Cavs. A veteran 3pt shooter who can guard tall guards and small small forwards. He would probably be a good mentor. Problem is he’s been a starter most of his career and we have Okoro who needs to develop at the 3. I doubt Danny wants to come off the bench quite yet although he might be pressed to getting a starting job with a contender at this point.
Caruso getting 9.25 mill a yr. Is a hefty price for Lakers to pay. With their Bird rights could of done it. I wonder if he would of taken 8 mill to stay. He’s a guy they will miss.
T Pups suck. No player movement. Hello. We need fro t Court help badly
