AUGUST 6: The Lakers have officially signed Bazemore, the team announced today in a press release.
AUGUST 2: Kent Bazemore will remain in the Pacific Division but he isn’t re-signing with the Warriors. Bazemore has agreed to a one-year deal with the Lakers, Shams Charania of The Athletic tweets. It’ll be worth the veteran’s minimum, per Broderick Turner of The Los Angeles Times (Twitter link).
Bazemore had a good run this past season in his second stint with Golden State. He appeared in 67 games, including 18 starts, and averaged 7.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 1.6 APG in 19.9 MPG. Bazemore’s 40.8% success rate from 3-point range was a career best.
The Warriors were interested in re-signing Bazemore. In fact, they were willing to give him more money, but he took Los Angeles’ offer because he sees the Lakers as a title contender and was told he’d have a major role, Mark Medina of USA Today tweets.
Instead, Bazemore will join several other free agents — Wayne Ellington, Trevor Ariza and Dwight Howard — who agreed to contracts with the 2019/20 NBA champions. Bazemore previously played 23 games with the Lakers during the 2013/14 season.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAA
Patty Mills would of been better for LA
Patty Mills for GSW please.
Lakeshow will still run circles around the Dubs chump.
Came here looking for this…
If you are 35 or older, you join the Lakers for career success.
He is just too young….
WOW
Please
Let the Warriors do a sign and trade for Oubre
“A good run” is putting it VERY generously. Did you watch the games? He just did not seem to fit in. Bazemore put up his yearly averages last with maybe a fewer percentage points (2-3) higher in his 3 point percentage. Poole made Bazemore irrelevant with his play. They don’t have room for Bazemore unless you are just trying to make Poole work harder.
Warriors have offered $5.9 million to Patty Mills
Oubre has no market?
As I said one month ago, Knicks, Heat and Mavs are not interested in Oubre
Lakers are only signing former Lakers
Good ones too, roster is gonna have nice variety of scores and defenders. I like it
lol ariza, howard are washed and old and bazemore and ellington barely move the needle
Marty is gonna lose his mind, bazemore turned down more money from warriors to go to lakers because they are a championship contender. Funny because he seeing Marty talk you’d think warriors were lol
All these guys they’ve signed are decent players off the bench. Nothing special but they are doing a nice job filling the holes with what they have to offer money wise. Personally not a fan of Bazemore or Ellington but I do get the signings. I do love the Dwight signing though, to me that was the best signing of the day for them, he shouldn’t have ever left but whatever. These moves today aren’t going to make them or break them. They fill roster spots, won’t see a ton of mins but can’t play defense and knock down some shots here and there. Decent from behind the arc. I dont love them, I like them and I get them. Would like to see them bring back THT though, losing Caruso sucks but couldn’t afford what he was asking for and hope for the best the guy but hopefully they can afford bringing back THT. I’m sure Dudley is coming back cheap, that’s another roster spot taken. They still have Gasol on the roster. Not sure who else they can get or afford but I hope they prioritize signing THT, need some young blood on the roster, IMO. I’ve heard Melo might be signing. Wouldn’t mind that either as long as it doesn’t mean they can’t afford THT
Ariza and Howard are decent pick ups. The rest not do much . Lakers need to sign a better Sg . Definitely need to sign THT . They need some youth from the bench
Lakers roster essentially coming together like O was talking about. Still surprised they landed Dwight for such a limited role. Melo, plus another 3 and D wing, plus a depth scoring guard and they’re pretty much set
all of that assuming they retain THT after losing Caruso’s defense at the guard spot obviously….
Assuming Ellington has any semblance of health, he’ll be a legit 3-point threat.
It’s a bit of a surprise that Dwight left the SIXERS, he seemed like a nice fit with them.
The LAKERS missed DH’s interior presence last season – the occasional lobs, putbacks and his goonish ways.
Good moves by LeGM.
