The Kings haven’t talked to the Sixers about a possible deal for Ben Simmons for several weeks, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.
During their initial conversation, Sacramento made it clear that De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton wouldn’t be made available, which has also been reported by other outlets. A source tells Amick that the Kings will stick to that position and consider their roster virtually set heading into training camp.
There are no ongoing trade talks involving the two teams, Amick adds, and Sacramento shouldn’t be considered a realistic possibility for Simmons unless Philadelphia president of basketball operations Daryl Morey lowers his asking price.
If a deal is eventually reached with the Kings, it’s more likely to involve Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley, according to Amick.
Trade rumors involving Simmons have heated up again after a report on Tuesday that he plans to hold out of training camp if the Sixers don’t ship him elsewhere. The Kings, Timberwolves, Clippers and Warriors have been the most frequently-mentioned possibilities.
The kings are the 4th team in California for a reason , offering the likes of heild and bagley are why. The Sixers will be best served to let Simmons sit and pay until a offer that at minimum is lateral and best case improves the number 1 seed and statistically the top starting 5 in the NBA.
You’re suggesting that in order to be better than the 4th team in California they should willingly include their two best players with the highest potential for Ben Simmons. How ridiculous
Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley are overpaid, negative value for a big city.
I’d attach 2 lottery protected picks
@Sillivan
Well isn’t Simmons overpaid too? Isn’t that kind of the reason he’s being moved? No on me wants to pay 4/$140 for a defense first point guard. At least Hield fills a need as a prolific shooting guard that can bury the 3 at an elite level (+2th highest 3pt % among all active players). And if you compare contracts Hield is owed about 3/$61 mil and Bagley 1/$11 mil compared to the $140 mil owed to Simmons.
If you’re talking about including both Fox and Haliburton then you simply can’t be talked to. Nobody has suggested that.
That isn’t my point, but to exclude both ,end of discussion.
So Kings need to add their top players because they are the 4th team in California is silly.
Kings are not going to bail out Morey on this, they can sit and wait until the demands lower which they will because Morey has no choice.
Kings have nothing to lose but sit and wait for Morey to cave if Simmons is dealt somewhere else then so be it.
Well, by definition he would lose Ben Simmons by not engaging in trade talks…so there is something to lose. And let’s not
Discount the fact that Simmons would arguably be the best player on that team, or at least 1B. You can’t expect to add that type of piece for spare parts in Bagley and Hield
Suggest adding either and we talk . I prefer haliburton.
Lol Simmons is barely better than bagley on offense and an infinitely worse shooter the hield, philly fans are such an unrealistic bunch hahahahaha
As the CHI fans are know to be so realistic, right?
Oh yeah take that baby!
I give the Kings front office credit for standing firm on not including Fox or Haliburton. Those two have the potential to become future all-stars. Also now that Simmons is forcing the 76ers hand it’s hurt their leverage in negotiations. They don’t have the luxury to hold out for the right offer when they are trying to compete now and not in a full rebuild like the Rockets.
They are in win now mode and need to acquire a combination of players who are able to contribute now and future picks which can be used to supplement their roster or trade for players to build up their roster to compete with the Nets, Bucks, Celtics and Heat.
Honestly Hield, Bagley and 2-3 future 1sts with limited or no protection is a fair offer for Simmons.
Too much. Those picks might be valuable.
Hield and Bagley is fair for Simmons. Add in a pick if you need to, but Simmons isn’t worth any more than that. Everyone knows it, including Morey. He’s just asking for the moon to keep up appearances, but in the end something like this is what he’ll get.
So everybody knows that All-NBA players are worth just spare parts, dross, junk, garbage & so on…, right?
Aren’t you smart?
Kings and Wolves called 76ers “crazy demand”
2 Kings are untouchable, not made available
3 Wolves are untouchable, not made available
off topic
Where is the route for Simmons to Lakers and Clippers?
Ben Simmons for Anthony Davis? According to some it works well for LA.
The trade machine on ESPN.com says that Simmons for AD increases the Lakers projected wins by 8 and lowers the Sixers projected wins by 5.
Brick collections?
LeBron is starting to brick

I have a Ben at home, was made of bricks.
Trade him to the Rockets so they can suck for an infinite amount of years.
They already tried that last year, thankfully it didn’t go through.
Not a big fan of Simmons & I agree that the Philly’s asking price has been too high, but trading Simmons for Hield & Bagley isn’t a good move for the Sixers.
W’s will guve up everything to get Simmons if they are convinced Beals wont be available. That’s how highly they think of Simmons. A lot W’s fans are clueless. If Green is not included(since they both have same agent), it will be Wiggins, Wiseman, Moody, Kuminga, etc. Sixers can then utilize the young assets to get an all star mid season. Why give up so much?? Because Simmons is top 15 player AND W’s all star trio want him badly.
Michol, this looks like a post suitable for 2 months ago. Outdated info and incorrect.
• Warriors brass is split on acquiring Simmons.
• Warriors rejected Sixers trade proposal of those four guys plus “etc.”
• it’s debatable Simmons is a top 15 player now. He is slipped ghis off season, though he’s still an All-Star in very good.
• Warriors Trio have lobbied for Bradley Beal not Ben Simmons.
They all have been negotiating all along…
Wrong on every level. Warriors wouldn’t trade wiggins for simmons straight up. Simmons is damaged goods and far from a top 15 player. Delusional 76ers fans. Youre not getting anything for simmons.
Who is claiming that Michol? In all the warrior’s insiders they moved on from Simmons after being told the price. Who did you hear that rumor from?
It’s open secret. Simmons and his agent mentioned W’s because there is mutual interest, and now they say 3 CA teams. Do you not think W’s are one of them? The W’s all star trio do not want to play with rookies and they are all and have been seeking a major trade.
So you are guessing. I am quoting from warriors own reporters that they are divided on getting Simmons and at this time are not pursuing him. They were only seeking a trade for a plyer that fits their team who can score. There was none available so they went with rookies. The Vets told Meyers they want to play with Kuminga and impressed with him.
If W’s pull it off, it will be a steal. W’s will have 25 yr old superstar…. Dont only think about last yr’s bad postseason.
Only reason he makes sense for the W’s is that the whole team can shoot while baby Benny can’t.
If you want to go by recent reports, why not also include “conditional” interest meaning if Green is included, and that W’s are one of the favorites to land Simmons….. i think Rich Paul is doing all the negotiations with Sixers, and Myers is relaxing at home…
Came out today there has been 0 trade talks between Sixers and Warriors since Morey demanded a kings ransom 2 months ago from warriors. All other
rumors are made up by sport writers trying to make up click bait.
No the Warriors media has said talk among team management is not high on the idea of getting Simmons since they have Green. Kuminga is now on the stay with team list. Warriors do not want them badly but sixers fans want Kuminga badly.
Please understand that it’s the players league and W’s trio do not want to play with all rookies.
Why? Where does Simmons even fit on Warriors? I like Warriors young kids! And his salary? How the hell you match that, 76ers would have to take Wiggins . Don’t see it now, maybe at deadline
Great idea for Sac, stay the course and continue missing the playoffs. I would be embarrassed to be a Kings fan. Wait, do they actually have fans?
Yeah they still have fan, actually Sacramento kings fan are some of the loyalist in all of the league. Are day well come I just hope in my lifetime. Honestly as a die hard fan I’m ok with them trading Fox for Simmons. I do think people here think fox is untradeable, but I remember when kings traded richmond for webber it changed the franchise around the next season. You have to take chances especially since it’s been 15 years since the playoffs, you have to roll the dice.
Good post Kyle !!
to think Simmons is like Cwebb is nonsense. Cwebb has jumpshot. Fox is way better than Richmond. Keep the comments to yourself. We’re not trading Fox, Hali, or Mitchell. But you can have our garbage in Bagley, Hield and three 2nd rd picks. we keeping our 1st rd picks. GM Mcnair is smart man unlike former GM Idiot Vlade.
What posturing going on all over!
Why has McNair drafted PGs #1 in both the last drafts? Because he would like to trade Fox and get something. Indeed, he has hit on both picks. Fox comes from Divac.
Not sure for Simmons though because Ben will have to beat Morey over the head with red flagpoles before he gets the point. But, the Simmons situation is holding everything else up, and maybe that is Morey’s point.
Simmons will require that he play PG and trigger the offense by default, which the young guys will likely approve of, if Simmons takes the 3 defensively. But Simmons may not even accept that.
BTW Mitch Richmond was better than Fox is. No big fan of CWebb either, very iso. Of course Simmons is not being a team guy himself right now.
@Neomatriks… Mitch is a HoFer, perennial All-Star, but Fox who hasn’t ever been even close to an All-Star is better?
Might be one day, but up to now Mitch is light years better than Fox, & I do like Fox myself.
A jumpshot is not what made C-Webb better than Simmons, actually shooting was one of the weakest things in the great repertoire of C-Webb!
BTW who makes you the chief around here telling the real SAC fans to stop commenting here?
Just settle down & learn from the ones who know more than you, it comes with growing up, kido!
How is soph. Haliburton, sharp-shooter Hield, big-man Bagley for Simmons not an at least enticing trade for the Sixers?
Maybe could then include
Maxey (from Sixers) to Warriors
Toscano-Anderson to Sixers
I don’t think the Kings would do Hali for Simmons straight up, even if the salary matching rules allowed. Nor should they. Kid’s that good (and that cheap).

Morey has blown it again. My analytics says he sucks. He will never get value for Ben now. Cause this is just getting worse. Any real sports fan knows Philly is a tough place. They know their sports and they don’t forget. After last yrs playoffs. You just knew this was not going to end well. Sixers should of been on top of this. Taken advantage of the draft. And retooled the team wit a Ben trade. Now it’s getting to point where they will lose plenty. Ben is not playing for Sixers. So who helps Sixers most to get to Finals. It’s got to be Halliburton. He runs the point. Plays both ways. Makes few mistakes and is ready to lead. He is young and Sixers can be contenders for yrs. Maxey and agent mouthing off, Gotta Go. Send him and Ben Kings. Kings been trying to dump Heild and Bagley for yrs. Halliburton, Heild, Bagley and #1 pick. Bagley will be reborn next to Embiid. This trade makes Sixers better and deeper. It will never get better than this.
