The Lakers were interested earlier in the summer in big man Damian Jones before the Kings chose to guarantee his salary, according to Marc Stein of Substack. Jones had his $1.98MM salary guaranteed last month despite a glut of centers on Sacramento’s roster. Jones played eight games for the Lakers last season. Los Angeles is expected to sign DeAndre Jordan once he’s bought out by the Pistons and clears waivers.
We have more from the Western Conference:
- Danuel House is likely to be dealt during the upcoming season, Rahat Huq of the Houston Chronicle opines. House has an expiring $3.98MM contract and doesn’t have a future on the rebuilding Rockets. He appeared in just 36 games last season but might bring back a late first-rounder from a contender seeking depth at the wing, Huq adds.
- Moses Brown is working closely with longtime NBA center Tyson Chandler to improve his game, Dwain Price of Mavs.com writes. Brown was traded twice this offseason and was forwarded by Boston to the Mavericks in the Josh Richardson deal. “He’s been helping Moses a little bit in the gym just to kind of help him get a feel for things,” Al Whitley, GM of the G League Texas Legends, said of Chandler. “So to have a guy like Tyson Chandler as a mentor – someone who is a championship player, who brings what Tyson brought to the court, his intensity, toughness, all those types of things – that’s now being shared with Moses.”
- Free agents Lance Stephenson and Isaiah Thomas left positive impressions during the workouts with the Mavericks, Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated tweets. Dallas is seeking more backcourt depth and both veterans guards are looking to revive their NBA careers.
House expiring contract is not worth a future First but a early Second
Suns don’t even offer a future First to Spurs for Thad Young
Josh Richardson is overrated, I do not see he is that much better than House
Turns out House has been slipping. I doubt he draws in the high second either, given he was a local reclamation.
Yeah, Every other Team in the League is making Trades and Bettering their Rosters, all the While, we Sit here and do Nothing !! Time for New Leadership, starting w/ the Owner, GM and Head Coach !! Then, just maybe we might see some action that means something and will produce something other than another Lottery Pick !!
Who are “we”?
His explanation could be at least 10ish teams….
Keep up dude… KHE is a SAC fan, I know right, we gotta be gentle with him, sooo rough been a fan for them, right?
Today’s news
Oladipo is looking for a girl friend
Dennis Rodman does not want to see Curry and Lillard shooting from 50 feet
House ain’t worth a first rounder I don’t think. Lots of guys like that around the league. Seems more like a fit for a mid-season trade into a TPE, for a protected second rounder.
Might bring
Lakers should’ve kept Jones last season, he was balling, young and cheap.
Yes, but Jordan seems more appropriate age-wise. Right, Sillivan?
What are the Kings gonna do with 4 centers? Seems odd…
SAC must have thought tbey were going to lose Holmes when they gave up Delon Wright for Tristan Thompson. Bright side, they kept Holmes! They have PGs to spare but they could have gotten more for Wright.
Four centers plus Bagley & Metu. They might be thinking three guards, but they haves Barnes too. Team has another trade to make… there should be another target besides Simmons.
Poor Tristan, guy is buried now, and still a ways from LA. The Celtics are a good franchise, but the wheels were coming off last year. At least he redeemed a bit in the playoffs, looking useful.
Pels probably still want a guard and have talented young forwards to trade: Murphy UVA & Herb Jones UGA rookies, and Naji Marshall Xavier. Scandalized center Jaxson Hayes & 2G NAWalker would help at wing too.
I would trade Fox & TristanT for Murphy, Marshall, Hayes & an unprotected first. Jones is 6-6 in wiki, 22yo w/injuries.
