Lakers superstar LeBron James offered his thoughts about the comments recently made by Celtics big man Enes Kanter, addressing the ongoing feud between the two after Saturday’s game.
Kanter recently called out James on social media, writing, “Money over Morals for the “King.” Sad and disgusting how these athletes pretend they care about social justice. They really do “shut up & dribble” when Big Boss says so. Did you educate yourself about the slave labor that made your shoes or is that not part of your research?”
When asked about the post, James noted that he typically doesn’t bother engaging. But, as mentioned previously, this isn’t the first time the pair has had an issue, which includes a face-to-face altercation during a game back in 2017.
“I think if you know me, you know I don’t give too many people my energy,” James explained, as relayed by Analis Bailey of USA TODAY. “He’s definitely not someone I would give my energy to. He’s trying to use my name to create an opportunity for himself. I definitely won’t comment too much on that.
“He’s always had a word or two to say in my direction, and as a man, if you’ve got an issue with somebody, you really come up to him. He had his opportunity tonight. I seen him in the hallway, and he walked right by me.”
There’s more out of Los Angeles:
- It’s apparent the club can’t win without LeBron, Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register writes. In the seven games that James has played this season, the Lakers are 4-3. Without him, the team is 4-6.
- The team has committed to Anthony Davis at center, but the defensive kinks must be worked out by committee, Goon writes for the Orange County Register. Starting Davis at center allows the Lakers to improve its offensive spacing, but it reduces the team’s size in the frontcourt. The club must now determine its starters alongside Russell Westbrook, James and Davis.
- Backup point guard Kendrick Nunn (right knee bone bruise) isn’t expected to return anytime soon, Goon tweets. Nunn signed a free-agent deal to join the organization back in August. He averaged 14.6 points, 2.6 assists and 29.5 minutes in 56 games with the Heat last season.
didn’t mention kanter’s kicks for that game.
That was a masterful job by LeBron, talking without managing to say anything…
He heard Stewart was buddys with Kanter, so thats what tonight was all about lols.
It’s not a masterful jab. He is ignoring it as some guy clout chasing because he can’t admit Uighur slave labor is a part of the shoe making process in China since it would affect his bottom line.
He also tries to act like Enes Kanter is a guy who can only call him out online and wouldn’t say it to his face. Considering Kanter has had his family arrested and has a warrant out for his arrest in Turkey for comparing Erdogan to Hitler, I think he has stood up to and risked more than anything Lebron has in his life.
We all wear shoes made by slave labor, so I don’t see why that should worry LBJ more than us, unless we are so hypocritical that we expect more from him than ourselves, which is one of the big wrongs of this world… I really can’t see anything wrong in this issue!
We don’t have the power and platform for change that he has. He’s awfully mouthy for easy causes but it’s crickets when it comes to speaking out on the tough stuff. If you paint yourself as this brave activist, you will be expected to make yourself heard
I don’t where anything made in china. Lebron could work behind the scenes to change this.
LBJ. Respond to Kanter
What is your position?
Slave labor to make your shoes?
It is not only Kanter
It is millions of people that you are hiding behind your facade
Step up
Be the man
Answer the question
Not for Kanter but the millions of people who look up to you
Answer the question
Where do you stand on slaves making your shoes.
Do not hide behind a facade
Get over it. They made everyone’s shoes. Take that stuff to Kanye.
LeBron knows what is bad for business, and typically speaks up on most issues he believes strongly in. I might not like LeBron, but I really agree with him here, and give him credit for taking the high road.
Kanter desperately wants to get his current issues publicized and talked about more. That is the only reason he’s going at LeBron about this. Well, I’m sure there is probably some disdain and some jealousy from Kanter towards LeBron as well, but still…
Kanter has a high enough platform, if he put in the effort, hard work, and enough time he’d get his message heard and recognized..This just sounds like a cheap shortcut by someone that’s jealous, spiteful, and lazy..
I admire Kanter. He cannot go home or leave the country because Erdogan will have him arrested and killed fight speaking out against the atrocities committed by Erdogan and his cronies. Kanter speaks out against the same slave labor LeBron knowingly uses to manufacturer his shoes. LeBron won’t take a stand if it means he’ll take a hit in the wallet…..

Kanter is a fraud. When has he ever stepped up and talked about black issues?? Trying to throw LeBrons name in there for attention is pathetic, IMO. I don’t admire the dude at ALL. He’s fake.
Because he probably thinks as a white person and a foreigner he should let the more well known African American players speak on those causes. Bron portrays himself as the big time hero and activist. It’s only natural to expect him to speak out on things but his wallet gets in the way
Lebron such a coward, he’s not even top 10 all-time after what he did tonight, just low rent suckerpunching a guy who is beating you fair and square smh
You forget that you guys have Draymond on your team who punched guys in the nuts on rebounds? LMAO
Along with Andrew Bogut and Zaza Pachulia somewhat recently. Like, come on.. lol
I’m no LeBron fan, everyone here knows this. He lost that privilege with me when he chose to broadcast his “decision” back in 2010.
But he’s always going to be one of the top 10 players in NBA history, that will never change (at least not anytime in the near future).
I’m sure Marty believes that Curry will be remembered as one of top 2 or 3 players in NBA history, ahead of LeBron. But anyone with even the least bit of objectivity knows that simply isn’t true.
Dray was talking to CP and he told Dray to “nutmeg” people. Is it Draymonds fault that he thought “nutmegging” meant something totally different.
Kkkkkkkk
Kanter isn’t wrong.
He sure isn’t.
He sure is. When has Enes ever stood up for black issues?? He’s a hypocrite.
Kanter took a knee during the bubble games. He has also long been a vocal critic of the oppression and dictatorship in his native country. He now shows his opposition against China, who most of the world consider as the big bad wolf.
Lebron only knows self-promotion, with some BLM thrown on the side. He’s the big hypocrite.
You missed the point. He is saying Lebron is a hypocrite. Essentially saying he is upset black people used to be enslaved but yet he supports slavery in other countries through allowing his shoes to be made by them. Kanter is essentially not happy Bron is doing the exact thing Kanter has been advocating against (and low key bron has been advocating against). Americans (which I am one too) seems to have a narcissistic viewpoint on the world that they are the only people alive, and it doesn’t matter what happens in other countries. Even if it is something I am doing (like bron). When in reality it does matter what is happening in other countries especially if you could help it.
That’s why so many people all over the world hate Americans.
As a nation we do have a narcissistic viewpoint of the world, or more accurately an Americentric viewpoint. Much like the so-called “war on terrorism” that’s actually a result of American and European imperialism to control oil rich nations before they asserted their own sovereignty against the world’s military/industrial powers.
LBJ doesn’t use slave labor for his sneakers, he only wears them, just like you & I & everybody’s granny as well, so what is the point?
Good on Kanter for supporting such causes. He should have plenty on his plate once he retires.
Good for Lebron for (finally) not talking too much – Lebron isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s a fugazi champion of social issues.
He and his handlers know nothing except self-promotion. Anything outside of BLM is a blank with them.
I can’t believe so many people still think that LeBron is better than Jordan.
I know LeKaren is definitely not better than Jordan
Has Bron ever got past the first page on all those books he reads in the locker room?
Big Lebron and Laker fan but Kanter has a point.
He has not!!!
Lebron is a clown. How can he support BLM and endorse shoes made by children/slave labor? It doesnt matter how good of a career hes had, when hes done hes going to look like nothing more than a joke to a lot of people. If he really wants to prove hes a social justice warrior it’s time for him to denounce Nike and China.
So you never wear sneakers, right?
The gall of you, dude!
So China is the only country that makes sneakers huh

LeBron is not focused on BB enough that year … Lakers FO have to turn things upside down quickly otherwise the King era will be already down …
Kanter is 100% right. F LeBron
I don’t see the Lakers making the finals Utah Phx and the Warriors are all better. The Warriors are adding Wiseman and Thompson. Curry if healthy is MVP at this time and he amazes us all. Poole’s play has took them back to contenders as well as deep bench.
Lebron has not brought fans to the game like MJ did. He is also a bigot!
I’m on Lebron’s side in this one (and I agree that Kanter is just calling LBJ out to gain publicity), but you’d “gladly” help a dictator kill a political dissident? No I don’t think you would, unless you are really really messed up in the head
So youre saying everyone who says theyd go back in time to kill Hitler wouldnt do it?
At the end of the day his job is to play basketball. LBJ does a lot and is involved in a lot, he is vocal and has put money into communities. But dude it’s gotta be exhausting if you think he can be the face of every single issue. Shoes from China and Nike and other brands have been around for years. LBJ boycotting would be significant from a PR standpoint, but the only people that can actually make change are the elected officials BC they dictate trade agreements. You can blast him, but him coming out against China won’t do anything but hurt the rest of the league and their players bottom line. Hence Morey being booted from Houston. That was the iceberg. Not CP3 or Westbrick.
His job is to play basketball, but when he has one of the largest shoe deals ever that pays him hundreds of millions of dollars and that profit is off of slave labor produced by a targeted minority, he has responsibility for that.
His job is to play basketball, his job is also to be a sponsored employee of said shoe company. Slave labors not right, we should fix that. Let’s not attack someone for not bashing the people signing checks.
And you probably have owned Nikes. Idk anyone that hasn’t had at least one pair of Nikes. So… you’re enabling.
If I had the pull Lebron did with the types of deals he has made and had the public platform he did I would say that in any shoe deal I sign the company cannot have the shoes made in China. You act as if this is something new. Michael Jordan split off from Nike and has his own shoe company now. There is zero argument that the paychecks Lebron gets from Nike are off the work of religiously and ethnically targeted slave labor in a country where the government is committing crimes against humanity against them.
Geez Karen, you OK, breath
Kanter forcing me to Ergodan’s side. Shut up already.
LeBron be rekt
