Warriors center James Wiseman won’t join the team on its four-game road trip, which begins on Sunday, Anthony Slater of The Athletic tweets. With three home games prior to the trip, the Warriors will be without the second-year big man for at least seven more games. Wiseman has engaged in contact drills in team settings, but still hasn’t fully scrimmaged. He’s recovering from a torn meniscus in his right knee that he suffered in April.
We have more injury news from the Pacific Division:
- There remains no timetable for LeBron James‘ return, according to Lakers coach Frank Vogel, Jovan Buha of The Athletic tweets. James is recovering from an abdominal strain that has already cost him three games.
- The news is better regarding Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker. He’s been cleared for contact and will practice on Tuesday, according to another Buha tweet. However, there is also no timetable for his return. He recently had the stitches removed from his surgically-repaired right thumb.
- Serge Ibaka played just eight minutes on Sunday in his first action since last May. The Clippers’ big man previously said he wished he had undergone back surgery earlier than June. Ibaka offered a vague response on Sunday when asked about the delay, hinting that he got bad advice, according to Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times. “It’s not necessary for me to say now,” Ibaka said. “I don’t want to make some people look bad.”
What a massive gut punch to the West that the only good team this year is the Warriors. LMAO
Yall ready for another 5 GSW Finals? Might even get more if all Poole/Moody/Kuminga/Wiseman are good!!! GSW running it back for 10 years is on the table. Steph is not going to stop shooting, his worst case scenario is he turns into Klay Thompson when he’s 42 hahahahaha ALL you clowns are going to be SO bummed….
Col your jets Marty. Warriors are playing a easy schedule and at home a lot of games. We don’t want to jinx them with a injury. I did notice all those warrior haters are dead silent right now especially tats who has gone MIA. What is nice is how good the bench has been playing this year. Last 2 years the bench has been so weak it was Curry or bust.
No, Im not cooling anything down, I’m letting it hang. I got called every name in the book on here for saying GSW was going to destroy everyone this season, and that’s whats happening and is going to happen. This is a 65-17 minimum team. The only team who can touch GSW is the Heat. Im not cooling anything, YOU need to quit being a captain bringdown bumout and enjoy the perfect basketball this team is playing!
Injuries? We already are 2 guys down!
You are right about the bench, it went from the worst to the deepest in the NBA. GP2 turning into Russell Westbrook is something no one saw happening, funny that Russ is probably best used in the same manner GP2 is being used, in spurts, not seeing more than 20 minutes a game.
Nothing better than Steph trying to draw one jump into player foul in preseason, it wasnt called, he went over the refs and asked them if they were not going to call that anymore and they said no, so he stopped doing it, because never needed to do it in the first place…it was that FRAUD James Harden who started it and STILL KEEPS TRYING TO DO IT! Honest basketball king in Steph vs dishonest 6th man with 20 bonus PPG James Harden perfectly summed up here. We love to see it.
I might not even need to post here anymore, brb gunna watch Steph with MVPs and rings BYE LOSERS!!! (jk i wont quit its too funny watching the level of pain my team brings to all the haters on here haha). I predict mental breakdown after mental breakdown on here, can’t wait!
Chill bro, i really like Steph and the warriors, but its too early to say 65-17 team alredy. And even if that’s the case, regular season success wouldn’t matter if they don’t make at least the WCF.
Im surprised they are playing this well as a team and J.Poole in particular its, to me, a really nice surprise.
Nope, not chillin. Where were you when I was getting called every name in the book for what turned out to be accurately describing what is happening now? Stop defending the haters, and stop bashing me for being right—WTF!!!
Feel free to quote me all year. I respect a lot of East teams, but GSW is clearly head and shoulders above the West based on depth alone. This team is deep and is STILL adding Wiseman and Thompson. 70+ wins is on the table right now, please believe me and stop denying reality!!
I remember you complaining about Steve Kerr and saying he was a problem for the team with his rotations… He is showing why its a great coach.
I agree that they are gonna be a top team, at worst top 3, and the only thing that can change that its if Steph gets hurt, hope his not.
The rest of the west its looking weaker this year IMO, only Utah seems to keep up, and they wouldn’t stand a chance against the Warriors in a 7 game series.
I remember Marty calling for Kerr to be fired on every article too..
Yes, and I was proven right: Kerr is running the same plays with this years all-high IQ brigade as he did with low IQ morons last year like Oubre/Bazemore/Wanamaker, which is absolutely terrible coaching.
Kerr was trolling GSW fans all year and the team was stupidly constructed all year long. Kerr’s strength is coaching all high-IQ guys, which he now has, and now everything is back to normal. He took a knee last year and wasn’t serious at any point, even with an MVP and DPOY on his roster. Still gross, but whatever, will trade last years unpleasantness for a ring this year.
Please. A tough Miami team will play them tough defensively in a finals. They don’t have the front court to play the tougher east coast teams.
There are a few more teams than just the heat that can play well. Bucks, Jazz, Nuggets, 76ers are all good teams. The season is long and we are only 1/8 through the season. Yes it is fun watching those warrior haters that said GSW were not a playoff team eating crow. It is still hard to believe that some people do not think Curry is one of the top shooters of all time. Those KD fans that claimed KD was the reason they won. KD one just one piece of the team during the championship run.
You forget it was the Warriors that pursued KD.
KD was magical in postseason for W’s. Still upset that he got hurt in that last postseason with W’s. That being said, Curry is getting better with age!
KD 2x finals mvp and my second favourite player I’ve ever seen behind Iverson
He should have been 3x finals mvp, but it was with W’s that KD matured and learned to win much like Lebron in Miami.
You should watch Steph Curry sometime, he’s way more entertaining and incredible to watch than KD and AI combined!
Nuggets about to lose Joker for 10 games – that will take them out of top 2 finish and seal the deal for GSW.
I feel pretty much the same about Harden… great to see so much joy on and off the court
Wiseman is a bust. Kominga too raw yet to know. Maybe Moody hits.
All I know is without Dray in a few years the defense will suffer significantly. They better turn in to runnin rebels and hope they can outscore the opposition.
Let’s hope Wiseman comes back with the same intensity and hunger as GP2. W’s dont need his offense, they need his athleticism to rebound, block, and play defense. He is the ONLY one of Kumnga, Moody, and Wiseman to potentially be a difference maker this season.
It went from “it’s just preseason” to “it’s just opening night” to “look at their schedule” to “hawks are struggling”
Y’all really can’t cope with the fact that the warriors are back and due to this roster construction, are going to dominate even longer than the first 5 year dynasty! hahahaha god its good being a Warriors fan, best longterm fan payoff in all pro sports! No one deserves this more!
Ok Marty. I’m almost with you. But what part of the roster is different than 2020-2021? Kelly left and Porter was added. Is that the difference?
Or do you have a healthy Curry?
I’m thinking more along the lines of 56 – 58. But not 65.
But I’m with you on GS coming out of the west.
“But what part of the roster is different than 2020-2021?”
In: Bjelica, Porter, Igoudala, Poole (new and improved), GP2 (new and improved), Moody, Kuminga, Klay Thompson – all high IQ guys
Out: Oubre, Wanamaker, Bazemore, Mannion, Smilegiec, Bell, Chriss, Mulder, Paschall – all low IQ guys
Massive turnover. How can you even ask this question? Its been the story of the offseason if you were paying attention.
Thanks for the enlightenment. As a full time (and more) employee, I can’t follow every team like I want…. That’s why I ask people’s like yourself.
But I checked the numbers and you’re close. Bazemore, Oubre, and Mulder are the ones who played more than half the 2020-2021 season. The rest you mentioned that left didn’t play/ contribute much. (According to the stats)
The additions are averaging less than 10 points a game. But like the other posters are saying – it’s early….!
So. I’ll trust your IQ assessment.
BTW- I’m hoping for a GS & Brooklyn Finals. But one can only dream.
Lakers could have had Lowery except they wanted to keep THTucker. They also possibly let Caruso go to keep THT in free agency. I think KCP can be added to that. He had better be worth it! I liked him as a ballhandler.
Its too early to say warriors being the favorite to win it all.
You should trust GSW fans, who literally just lived through 5 straight years of dominance when they say this team, from 1-15, is better than any of those teams.
I can sense your excitement about your team. But the NBA is a marathon not a sprint!
There’s maybe a 5% chance the GSW are winning the west.
There’s a 100% chance of dumb haters being wrong by betting against GSW.
We just had 5 years of this, you need to prepare for another 5 or else you are going to lose your mind.
