DECEMBER 4: Green has tested positive for COVID-19, tweets Tim Bontemps of ESPN. Coach Billy Donovan said Green has returned to Chicago.
DECEMBER 3: Bulls wing Javonte Green has entered the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago (via Twitter). Johnson notes that the Bulls have been testing daily after Coby White tested positive on Wednesday.
It’s unclear at this time whether Green tested positive as well. If he did, he’d be out for at least 10 days or until he returns two negative tests a minimum of 24 hours apart.
The 28-year-old Green has been an important member of the Bulls’ eighth-ranked defense. Through 23 games (12 starts), he holds averages of 5.4 PPG and 4.3 RPG in 20.6 MPG with a .495/.385/.750 shooting line. His counting stats may be modest, but they belie his impact. Green is often tasked with guarding the top scorers on opposing teams, usually at a size disadvantage.
In a separate tweet, Johnson relays that Alex Caruso is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Nets. The Bulls’ depth would be very limited if he’s unable to play, with White and Green already sidelined.
The Bulls currently sit with a 15-8 record on the season.
How are his non-counting stats tho?
They belie his impact
Good story about DeRozan closing out Knicks. Gotta love that high percentage gm. And his FT shooting. As compared to three happy teams. We missed RJs D this gm.

Your right Al, would have been a different game with RJ on the floor and we would not have been up by 21. Anyways, dished out another whoopin’ (that’s what you said about game 1 right?) Just kiddin’ and just happy we are both relevant again. Randle is a beast but to much play is run through him. Obi deserves more time.
still mumbling about the bulls I see, even though your great trades haven’t turned out as good as the “bad” demar trade.
knickerbockian logic
DeRozan was a FA signee. Only done as a sign n trade to move assets to Spurs. I’ve never said anything bad about him. Always liked him. Vucevic and DeRozan are solid vets Bulls have added. Playing well but it’s still early. They will miss Williams and could use bench help. I’ve always said their success depends on how Ball plays the point. He’s played well his 3PT % and D. Very good. Only 20 gms.
I’ve said this for awhile now. We need a PG to run team more. More ast and more run the offense first. I’m tired of seeing Randle iso. And wait for double then try and pass out for a three. He’s a ball stopper. Starting to remind me of Mello. I’ve said Thibs needs to get a grip on this. To me his loyalty to Randle. Is getting in the way of fitting in Kemba. Kemba is a lot like Rose really. His D also was an issue. That’s why he’s best coming off bench. Unfortunately with Mitch not playing like a dominant big on D. It just magnifies this. So why kill a player over this. Is just what uninformed fans do, on this board.
Knicks are still rebuilding. We all knew Kemba might not work. But there are bigger issues. It’s not all about one guy. It’s on Thibs to make this work. Why did you sign him.

The Knicks were rebuilding last year. This year They’re just another middle-of-the-road team.
This ain’t a house. Rebuilding takes YEARS. This is not even worth discussing.
If Caruso, Green and White are out against the Nets gonna be an uphill battle. More Ayo, Brown and Derrick Jones. Maybe even Simonovic gets a look to see what he’s got. Too early for teams to start trading, everyone still thinks they have a shot. Knicks are a mystery to me. Tibbs is a D first guy, but they seem uninterested. Think Al is right about Randle being Being Melo 2.o. The ball definitely stops when it hits his hands.
Caruso is the biggest X factor there. He really makes the defensive intensity hum, and it is contagious. I would rather see Johnson with Ayo and Jones, that is a more defensively sound trio, and the Bulls can score when they need to, it is stops that get hard to come by on occasion.
JR is the only bright light in NYK… as always teams coached by Thibs underperform, hardly a surprise there, right?
He’s definitely NOT the ONLY bright spot; in fact, he’s holding back some of their guys.
While Randle is and can be a beast at times, he too often solely plays isolated ball, and he all too often solely goes to his left cutting off half the floor offensively.
Until either Thibs corrects Randle’s play, or Randle makes some adjustments, they’ll continue to be just a mediocre, borderline playoff/play-in team, unfortunately…
The insight ????
It’s 20 gms into Thibs SECOND year.
— NEW YORK, June 7, 2021 – New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is the recipient of the Red Auerbach Trophy as the 2020-21 NBA Coach of the Year, the NBA announced today. —

Knicks 2019-20 (21 – 45)
Knicks 2020-21 (41 – 31)
Thibs does need to get Randle back to playing like last yr. And does need to fix the offense.
In Thibs we Trust …. no panic yet
Bulls are being forced to start Derrick Jones Jr.
I thought they should have all year since Williams went down
Proabably will find a way around starting him again
He is good in short spurts but a gambling defender which can result in broken defenses. Like him when Caruso is on the floor, not so much when he is not.
Maybe he and Lonzo can work on some alley oops…
Why is this app making me look like Frankie Two Times again?
DeRozan is the vet star they didn’t have. He’s added confidence in closing out gms. He doesn’t panic in close gms. He plays both ways. He gets to the FT line consistently. And is a .90% shooter. This helps everyone. Especially a rising star like LaVine.
You add Vucevic to that mix. And if Lonzo ever fulfills his expectations. You got something there. Still it’s still 20 gms. Williams is a big loss. Bulls could use another 4 like Bagley or Thad. You gotta let this play out. East is deeper and will settle in. Knicks aren’t this bad. Sixers will straighten out Ben situation. Hawks and Bucks will get going. Even Nets can and will get better. When they move Kyrie.
Bulls haven’t done anything yet. So enjoy the ride. They are becoming a good team. A contender, we’ll wait on that. And for all the fools. (No I don’t thin NYK are a contender). The fun and the glory. Is watching it all come together. It’s just the beginning.
