Pacers swingman Caris LeVert is attracting plenty of interest around the league, Jordan Schultz of Schultz Report tweets. His play-making and scoring abilities make him highly coveted, according to multiple sources who spoke with Schultz.
A report last week indicated the Pacers were looking at a roster shakeup, with LeVert among the players they’d be willing to move at the right price. He’s averaging 15.5 PPG and 3.1 APG in 28.1 MPG this season for Indiana, which has a 12-16 record. He has one more year left on his three-year, $52.5MM contract.
We have more from the Central Division:
- Pacers president Kevin Pritchard has apologized for his recent comment to The Athletic that the franchise is still trying to “manufacture that real star,” according to James Boyd of the Indianapolis Star. Pritchard took heat on social media for the comment, considering the team has a two-time All-Star in Domantas Sabonis. Pritchard wrote in part on Twitter, “First of all, I believe in all our players and hold them to the highest order. In all honesty, I believe we have multiple ‘stars’ on our team but we all know we need more. We have challenged our players to be better. … Could have used a better word than ‘stars’ probably.”
- Bucks guard George Hill will not play on consecutive days in the near future, Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel tweets. Hill is returning from a hyperextended right knee and sat out the team’s game against Boston on Monday. Hill played the front end of the back-to-back on Sunday, going scoreless in 14 minutes against the Knicks.
- The Pistons have lost 12 straight and their game at Chicago, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues among the Bulls. Detroit won’t play again until Thursday against Indiana and that’s just fine with coach Dwane Casey, Rod Beard of the Detroit News tweets. “It gives us a couple of days of practice, which is very, very important,” Casey said.
LeVert and Warren for Sexton and Love
For the Cavs it gets them out of Loves big contract and means they don’t have to make a deal with Sexton in FA.
Instead they get back LeVert who they need to fill in at SG. LeVert can play as a scorer, shooter or creator. Warren if he can get fit and stay healthy also helps them at SF another position they have had issues filling permanently.
Pacers get back Sexton who is young and they believe in. Great way to start a rebuild. They do have to take Loves deal but it expires end of next season and will give them 30m to spend up.
Let’s say then then make a Tuner to GSW trade.
Turner and a pick swap this year for Wiseman and Kuminga.
Pacers then have young core of Sexton, Wiseman, Duarte and Kuminga. Plus Bitadze, Jackson and Brissett. They still keep Brogdan and Sabonis and also add KLove as a veteran floor spacing big man.
With the pick swap Pacers currently sit likely to land the 9th pick while GSW currently sits with the 29th pick.
Pacers atleast get a late first this year and GSW is happy with a pick just inside the top 10.
Love is better for Cavs than inefficient volume shooters, especially with Cavs as potential contender, he will play seriously and get in shape.
Personal opinion I guess.
Cavs fans bagged KLove for the last three season but now he’s playing good off the bench y’all love it again.
Warren when fit and healthy is actually really good. LeVert if he can settle in and stay healthy too he would be good.
No. Why does Golden State need to trade for Turner? They are the best team in the league.
Kuminga averages 7.1 minutes a game, well Wiseman hasn’t even played this season.
This trade only makes them better. Taking away two players getting next to no minutes and adding in an elite rim protector and floor spacing centre.
Tomorrow is the 15th we shall see. Indy hopefully is not stupid enough to trade Sabonis.
Pritchard is correct though. There is no player who would carry a team through a series yet. The pacers are a very sound team though.
