The Kings are still shopping a package including Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III in hopes of getting a quality player but are not actively pursuing Pacers’ big men Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner, Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee reports.
The Kings have not engaged the Pacers in talks for Sabonis or Turner since last week, when a report surfaced that Indiana was open to dealing its top big men, as well as guard Caris LeVert. Sacramento had displayed interest in Sabonis in the past.
It’s somewhat curious that Sacramento wouldn’t target those big men for its guard-heavy roster. Sabonis is a two-time All-Star and the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week, though, as Anderson notes, he’s a 31% 3-point shooter and is not considered a strong defender. Turner is the league’s top shot-blocker and would help space the floor with his 3-point shooting.
Kings GM Monte McNair is looking to make a big move and the Sixers’ Ben Simmons could still be a target. The Kings were one of several teams named as having continued interest in the disgruntled Philadelphia star, who has not played this season.
Hield is averaging 15.7 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 2.1 APG. Bagley, who will be a free agent (restricted or unrestricted) next summer, was benched earlier in the season but was moved into the rotation last month. The No. 2 pick of the 2018 draft is averaging 7.8 PPG and 6.3 RPG.
Thought Kings had interest in Sabonis?
Not according to Jason Anderson of the Sacramento bee
because God forbid, the Kings be interested in acquiring a top defensive big man.
It’s the Kings.
Turner is a center. We have 4 centers and with Holmes good fit for this team.our defense was in the last three games terrible, but that’s was without holmes
Probably looking for about 3 more guards.
To me Haliburton is perfect for Sixers. They could contend for years.
The sizers aren’t going to get a much better offer than Hield, Bagley and a first in my opinion if that’s an option for Simmons. Seems like it would be a fit for both squads. I’m happy Bagley is starting to perform now that he’s getting some run
Your opinion is wrong then cause they have already been offered Borgdan and LeVert at the start of the season and just a wee bit back apparently got offered Grant Hayes and a first
We don’t need Heild we have Curry. Bagley is on a 1 year deal and then hits FA so he’s almost worthless.
Big pass on that
Yes I guess everyone is saying the kings are probably the destination but doesn’t look likely with the parts Sacramento is willing to give up ?
Yeah as a Sixers fan I’d want Fox otherwise it’s tough to say yes
Fox or Haliburton. If the 6ers could get a package headlined with Haliburton,I think they’d have to consider it.
Consider but pass happily
Halliburton is nice but not at that top level like Fox. We already have Maxey so Haliburton doesn’t do it for me.
Haliburton: 12-4-5.5 shooting 45-41-76
Maxey: 16-4-4.5 shooting 47-37-87
I know it’s dumb but have to remember Simmons is a 3 time all star, 2 time all defensive first team and was all nba third team above the likes of Booker, Beal, Mitchell, Young, Fox, Murray, Ja, McCollum, etc etc
He’s a darn good basketball player who is just missing a shot and we aren’t giving him up for Halliburton who is barely even a starter.
He’s also shown himself to be a diva who may have a depression issue and a strong desire to play in L.A. soon as his contract is up. His value is a fraction of what it was when the Sixers should have traded him. This is all on them.
No they weren’t. That rumor was refuted many times over. That’s what they asked for from the Pacers, who said no.
Where did you hear that the Pacers offered Brogdon and LeVert? If I remember correctly they offered Brogdon and a 1st?
I’d rather hold Simmons til offseason if that kings offer is what’s on the table. That is how you get a first round exit instead of a second round exit taking a deal like that.
76ers are not going to trade Simmons for a deal headlined by Hield. 76ers ownership and management especially Doc Rivers, Elton Brand, & Daryl Morey are so infuriated by Simmons/Rich Paul’s behavior throughout this process that they have collectively become content with letting Simmons never play again, if they do not get what they feel is a deal that makes enough of a difference to help the team win now. They will not trade him at any point this year for a Hield/Bagley/&1st, and NO WAY IN HELL are they taking Russell Westbrook, turnover/bricked J machine and his enormous contract! The best thing the 76ers can do right now, is to trade Simmons & Tobias Harris in a multi-team deal where they get a legit 4 who can rebound/defend,and or shoot the 3 at a good pct. and a 1/2/3 who can be the 2nd (maybe even the 1st, Dame) scoring option.
As a 76ers fan, I want the team to improve asap, but I’m not trading Simmons for .50 on the dollar. Embiid is entering g his prime, and it is time to win now
The Kings have 3 guards on the roster (Fox, Haliburton, Mitchell), numerous centers they don’t need, and are guard heavy?
(Hield and Davis play SF next to two guards)
Guard heavy cause Heild and Davis are playing SF but are typically SG’s. Plus have three point guards in Fox, Mitchell and Haliburton.
They just need another couple forward imo
SAC’s GM is just another trade averse stooge. His goals don’t seem to extend beyond keeping his job. JJ (PHX) and AK-55 (CHI) show that there are (at least a few) real basketball guys out there who can put together a roster, not just manage the one they inherit, regardless of its ability to contend. It’s not about how long it may take, it’s about how long does it take to get started.
Bring back Vlade! 76ers could trade Simmons,Isaiah Joe, Charles Bassey and Tobias Harris to Sacramento for D.Fox, B.Hield, M.Bagley,R. Holmes,2 1sts ’22,’24,& 2 1st rd swap options ’23 & ’25.
Then 76ers trade D.Fox, B.Hield, M.Bagley, & a ’24 Sac 1st rd, ’22 76ers 1st rd pick.
To Portland for D. Lillard, R. Covington,Larry Nance, and Ben Mclemore.
