DECEMBER 12: Galloway has reached an agreement to join the G League’s College Park Skyhawks, tweets Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. The Skyhawks are the Hawks‘ G League affiliate.
The Skyhawks announced the deal via their official Twitter account.
DECEMBER 11: Point guard Langston Galloway, who helped the Suns reach the NBA Finals last season, will sign with the G League, tweets Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Like Isaiah Thomas, who is also hoping for an NBA comeback, Galloway will participate in the G League Showcase set for December 19-22 in Las Vegas.
Galloway played a role off the bench for Phoenix last season, averaging 4.8 points in 40 games while shooting 44.9% from the field and 42.4% from three-point range. However, he was unhappy about playing just 11.0 minutes per night and elected to seek a new team in free agency.
He signed a non-guaranteed training camp contract with the Warriors in late September, but was waived before the season started.
Galloway, who turned 30 this week, went undrafted out of St. Joseph’s in 2014, but was able to put together a seven-year career with the Knicks, Pelicans, Kings, Pistons and Suns. He has appeared in 445 NBA games with career averages of 8.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
Guy plays D and can help a playoff team.
How does he feel ’bout his playing time now?
Maybe when you are just about the last body in the bench, you shouldn’t complain & just be happy to be paid for doing nothing… or just go overseas & play more!
Huge win for the Sixers today.
Over the NBAs most in form team.
Without their second best player in Ben Simmons, ofcourse.
Yes our record isn’t the best and yes we don’t get the hype like Chicago or Brooklyn or whoever but we are a serious threat. Sitting 15-12, 5th in the east. However having had Joel out for 9 games, Harris out for 6 of those and Thybulle miss time aswell. Not to mention Ben and that drama.
Imagine what’ll happen once we flip Ben for an all star or atleast someone close to that level.
Still have my hopes set on Jaylen Brown. If not him I honestly wouldn’t mind Grant. Heck I wouldn’t even be mad at Hayward, Washington and a pick or Bogi, Hunter and a pick.
My only real preference right now is a SG/SF please, Maxey is playing great as our point and if not him Curry does a solid job in that role. We need another scorer on the wing and ideally one that can defend too. Just a consistent 18-6-3, 36% from 3 and the occasional 30+ game.
Simmons on the Hornets could be a great long term fit.
Imagine 6’7 Ball with 6’11 Simmons in the backcourt. That’s some serious height and length to overcome.
Balls flair, ability to shoot, create and the sky high potential paired with Simmons who is an elite defender, all nba third team point guard that also has sky high potential if he learns to add a shot to his game.
Add in Bridges, Rozier, Oubre and so on and you have a insanely talented young side.
I’d give up Hayward, Washington, Bouknight and a first for Ben, Springer and Reed
Why are you posting about the Sixers on a thread about Galloway?
Because this is a great website to talk hoops. Easy to access, easy to comment, easy to reply, and lots of good dudes who are fun to go back and forth with- including Simmons>Russ.
Some of us have been here years and years and enjoy the conversation. Can’t wait around for a specific article sometimes and just want to talk some ball.
No one commented or went back and forth though man.
I’m on the East Coast so I didn’t see it till the next morning. I commented on it… it’s right in line below. Good stuff, no big deal.., we don’t do it often.
Because the game just happened and there wasn’t any fresh articles. So I just wrote it on the newest one.
Not like this comment section is 50 deep about Galloway.
Yes big win. Goes to show any team can beat any opponent any given night. There’s NBA players on every team and you can’t take a night off or shoot poorly or you’re going to go down. Sixers did a nice job last night.
A great big gives Warriors problem. In a 7 gm series it could be the difference. That’s why I say Wiseman has to be part of rotation.
Either that or they trade for Turner. He can protect the rim and space the floor
I have the feeling the the Warriors won’t make a trade like that. I say they stand Pat now and look for a buyout candidate later. Maybe the same way Blake Griffin gave the Nets a spark as a big man last season?
Cheers Gary
