Following a strong start to the season, the Clippers have lost seven of their last 10 games and currently own a 12-12 record. Los Angeles has seen good and bad moments this year, but head coach Tyronn Lue believes the team can still improve its play-making, Mirjam Swanson of the Orange County Register writes.
“We had the plays that were there to be made,” Lue said after the team lost 104-99 to Sacramento on Saturday. “We just didn’t make them.”
Los Angeles, playing without Kawhi Leonard (torn ACL rehab), hoped to address its play-making issues by re-signing Reggie Jackson and acquiring Eric Bledsoe this past summer. Nevertheless, the franchise clearly has some work to do if it hopes to make the playoffs for a fourth straight season.
There’s more from the Pacific Division tonight:
- James Ham of The Kings Beat examines whether the Kings can survive the Buddy Hield experience. Hield, who’s averaging 15.9 points on 39% shooting this season, has played noticeably better during the team’s wins and worse during its losses.
- The Suns‘ packed early-season schedule and injuries prompted head coach Monty Williams to give Ishmail Wainright a little playing time, notes Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic (video link). Williams hadn’t planned on giving players on two-way contracts minutes entering the season.
- The Kings defeated the Clippers in its most recent game behind strong performances from Terence Davis and Marvin Bagley III, Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee writes. Davis finished with 28 points and four rebounds (6-of-11 from deep), while Bagley recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in just under 20 minutes off the bench.
They beat the lakers on Friday..
Hields production is getting lower and lower. He’s even playing less and less mins. So why did you give him 94 mill for 4 yrs.
Buddy Heild and Marvin Bagley for Davis Bertans and KCP?
Heild could be a difference maker off the bench for the Wizards hoping to make a long playoff run.
Add Bagley who is young and could revive his career with the Wizards.
Bertans has stunk this year so far but if he could turn that around it would be huge for the kings. KCP could easily sit on the bench without having his feeling hurt and play a veterans role. Which gives more minutes to Haliburton and Mitchell.
No. Just no
If your going to add something atleast make it have some substance. These sorts of comments are just pointless.
How is this offer even fair..just because Heild and Bags wants out still does mean the Kings get crap in return..
Heild is having a down year shooting less than 40% from the field. A career low in 3P%. Playing less minutes and not even a starter anymore.
Bagley in a similar position. Told they don’t want him anymore and don’t want to play him. On an expiring deal. Having a down year. Career lows in minutes, rebounds, assists and points. Getting less than half as many shot attempts per game than usual.
Bertans is also having a terrible season so far but of the 3 he’s probably most likely to turn it around. Shooting a career high in FT%, think he’s just been battling through injuries but on a fresh team with some time to heal he could be great. If he gets going he will give the kings a true stretch big and open up the floor for Fox to tear up.
KCP replaces Heild in a much smaller role gives more minutes to Mitchell and Haliburton. But he’s been having a great season so far, shooting a better percentage from the field, three point line and free throw line than Heild. He’d be great playing next to Mitchell in the backcourt of the second unit which would be great defensively.
Bagley is the better defense, fast break player and rebounder than Bertans. Bertans = Buddy
Shooting alone is, not enough. KcP and a another small deal for Buddy is amazing.
Pls never Bertans. NEVER!!!!
And Bagley… Mabye he play the next 2,3,4 years for our team. I like this, guy
He’s a wizards fan who wants a fake one sided trade that only helps his team. No one wants Bertans. He sucks.
You obviously must be new.
Bagley ain’t staying the team has already said they don’t want him and don’t want to play him. They didn’t give him a rookie extension.
Come the end of the season I guarantee you he’s gone
Dissagree
Bagley have, a future in our team. Mabye he, is, a trade chip but in the free agency will we are matching the contract.
And my problem is, Bertrans. It’s a downgrade.
Hachimura, Kuzma, KCP are interesting wizards players but she, don’t trade this, guys, for Buddy
This feels like a riddle
….lost 3 of last 10 is bad? I think the contrasting narrative from how LAC started could’ve been stated better
won 3 of their last 10 or lost 7 out of 10. pick one.
Good things seems to happen this year for SAC when MBIII plays… just putting it out there!
