The Warriors and sharpshooter Klay Thompson are circling January home games for an ideal return date, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Woj specifically mentions two dates as possibilities: Jan. 9 against Cleveland and Jan. 18 versus Detroit. He says a third date, Jan. 3 against Miami, is unlikely, but possible.
This aligns with a report yesterday that stated Thompson would return after Christmas. Thompson is currently in the process of ramping up his conditioning, so his return timeline remains somewhat in flux.
After missing the past two-plus seasons, Warriors don’t want to put any pressure on Thompson to return before he’s 100% ready, and there’s certainly no rush to get him back in the lineup — the Dubs have an NBA-best 23-5 record and can afford to be patient.
Thompson’s last official contest was Game 6 of the NBA Finals on June 13, 2019. He was in the midst of an outstanding game, scoring 30 points in 31 minutes on just 12 field goal attempts, but suffered a torn ACL late in the third quarter, which caused him to miss the entire 2019/20 season. After recovering from the ACL injury, he tore his Achilles tendon in the 2020 offseason, which sidelined him all of last season and has pushed back his debut this season.
In 615 career games (33.1 MPG), the five-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion holds averages of 19.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 2.3 APG on a stellar .459/.419/.848 shooting line.
Wiggins on fire tonight !!!
Let’s go Warriors..
Oh my gawd. You wanted to get rid of Wiggins. You said he was horrible. You said the Warriors can’t win with him in the lineup. Now you like Wiggins. I really don’t get it. Steve Kerr has 8 rings, he knows what he is doing. Why do you doubt that?
Wiggy is a modern day Hot Rod Williams
So the stupidity begins. How are John Williams and Andrew Wiggins the same player? Williams played in Cleveland in the early 70’s. Do you really believe the Warriors are that bad? How did they win 3 rings if you believe they are that bad of a team? How do the Warriors have the record they have now if they are bad as those early 70’s Cleveland teams?
Yes, the stupidity begins. Jess did not say they were the same player and nobody would assume that meaning. They had similarities… I presume, that HTW could win a game for the successful Cavs team of that era, then disappear in the next game… perhaps like Wiggins.
And Gary did not say he liked Wiggins… just that he was surprised Wiggins did well. Kind of the opposite.
The ’74 Giants went 72-90. This is your level.
Who is HTW? So, Wiggins is not a modern day ‘Hot Rod’ Williams? I’m confused. Why compare the players? Those Cavs teams were not very good. Gary has consistently said the Warriors are not a very good team. They have to get rid of Wiggins if they want to win a Championship. Gary knows more about winning a NBA Championship than Steve Kerr does. How did they get to 24-5 if they are not a good team? That part confuses me. 74 is the year my 1st favorite player tore up his shoulder. I know the Giants sucked through out the 70s. They got rid of all there best players. I keep reading that you guys want to fix what ain’t broke. Why?
Giants74, it’s really uncalled for a to use the words you do here. Why would you respond to us with stuff like “stupidity” or misrepresent what several of us have written? That’s not cool because YOU make mistakes as well.
Hot rod Williams played in the 80s, not the 70s. I don’t even have to look that up. Maybe even the late 80s with Brad Daugherty and Mark Price? Definitely not the 70s.
I would go through all of your statements where you’re incorrect on what I’ve written in the past, but it will not be worth it. I see by your content hear that you don’t pay attention anyway.
But it’s all good, you’re a Warriors fan and so am I. Can we celebrate that Wiggins had a great game and perhaps he’s becoming better? Not sure if I trust him with the ball in his hands in the last 2 minutes of the fourth quarter of a playoff game.., but wow he’s showing a lot this season!! I mean last night he was amazing shooting the ball and providing extra creativity and ball-handling when Curry’s out and Green needs help. With Poole out too he carried a little extra load. Nice job !!
Steve Kerr has enough confidence in Wiggins to put him out there in the last 2 minutes of a game. And, it is pretty clear Kerr knows what he is doing. Why doubt that? Doubt makes it hard to enjoy.
Gary, please ignore that guy. So Gary, lately Green is a great playmaker but has been careless on passes. Curry is in a HUGE funk (I’m sure we all saw that layup he missed ) and has also been careless. If Looney doesn’t dunk, scoring is difficult. Poole VERY inconsistent. There CURRENTLY is one player that I’m trusting to not be careless…Wiggins. There’s just something, like an assurance, I feel that he’s gonna at least get a decent shot. I’m sure you like seeing him play well. But last night, I was frustrated that in the 2nd half he didn’t get many opportunities so I ask you Gary, is that what bothers you? Did he kinda disappear 2nd half? Was that his doing ie is that what bugs you? Disappearing?
I don’t think Wiggins disappears on purpose. Especially as the second half gets a little more intense and meaningful Curry will take more opportunities himself and green will handle the ball quite a bit Etc.
I don’t know maybe it’s Wiggins body language or the fact he doesn’t get too excited. And that’s on me, that has nothing to do with his Effectiveness on the floor. I do love how he’s improved since coming to the Warriors and then looked amazing this year.
Mostly I guess that I would like to improve at the position of small forward. I’m probably spoiled by Kevin Durant so sliding down to a player like Wiggins is settling for less than the best. That’s probably wrong because there’s only one Kevin Durant in the whole world.
I’ll try to change my tone on Wiggins. Appreciate your help Claude.
Gary, if you just responded its off my screen. Anyway you can repeat it at the end of all the posts?
Giants74, Meant to say HRW not HTW… r,t, one of those qwerty letters up there on the left.
No, both players, Wiggins & HRWilliams, seem like off and on types to me, so are similar that way… also, they play with an oblivious style (like partly asleep), and do it on a winning team. It is a decent comparison and I am sure you get it.
People were saying Wiggins got better when I saw little change on infrequent views. Maybe he really is improved now, but I give him no free pass. Wiggins has NOT been associated with wins apart from Curry, while Hot Rod more or less opened and closed the best years of non-Bron Cavs history, though not always as a starter. Optimally, not.
Interesting about the 1974 story. Well that got answered.

#you are not a real person. Why do you guys bother to post?

I get you as far as Wiggins seems too nonchalant, or un-animated. But that could be good. Livingston was laid back, so I think of players like that when Wiggins is the same way. I gotta remember, Wiggins was getting ridiculed earlier this season cuz he was NOT playing then like he’s playing now. I just hope he stays this good
He is benefiting from the Warrior’s way of doing things. In fact he even said himself his plus minus is so good because he’s on the floor with Steph Curry. So he’s humble too and that’s big in my book.
As I said I love to see that he’s become a good player this year and is stepping up even over last year which was greatly improved also. Good stuff. Fingers crossed it continues and I’m sure it will. Good stuff Claude.
