With the return of Bam Adebayo (thumb) and Dewayne Dedmon (knee), Heat center Omer Yurtseven has effectively fallen out of the team’s rotation for now, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald writes.
Yurtseven started 10 games as Adebayo and Dedmon dealt with injuries, logging double-digit rebounds in every contest. Miami went 7-3 during that stretch. On the season, the 23-year-old has averaged 6.2 points and 6.2 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game, shooting 52% from the floor.
“It’s hard, obviously, because you catch that rhythm and you have that raging fire to just keep going,” Yurtseven said. “But I trust in the coaches and the Heat culture, and I believe if they want me and need me in the game that they know that I’m ready.”
There’s more from the Southeast Division today:
- The Wizards suspended Isaiah Todd one game for conduct detrimental to the team, the club announced in a press release. Todd, who has been on a G League assignment for most of the month, served his suspension during the Capital City Go-Go’s game against the Ignite on Friday. The 20-year-old was selected No. 31 overall in last year’s draft.
- Magic guard Cole Anthony is committing to the 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest on All-Star Weekend, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link). Anthony has seen his role increase with Orlando this season, averaging 17.9 points on 39% shooting from the floor.
- In a separate article for the Miami Herald, Anthony Chiang examines some takeaways from the Heat‘s Friday night victory over the Clippers. The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler, who finished with a game-high 26 points, as well as Gabe Vincent, who finished with 23 points in the absence of Kyle Lowry (personal). Lowry will also miss Saturday’s contest against Toronto, marking the seventh straight game he’s missed due to personal reasons.
Jalen Green, Cole Anthony, Anthony Edwards & Miles Bridges sounds like a smooth dunk contest to me… I could see Obi or Ja in there somewhere too
Have Miles go last in case he rips the rim apart
That kid plays with a envious violent streak you just can’t teach!- Love what Cha has cook’N
*Cam Reddish should watch MB tape and try to incorp more of that in his own game
It’s a trip how his career has gone in comparison to his boy Josh Jackson. Miles strength advantage & improvements as a shooter plus Josh going to a weird situation in Phoenix as a rookie seem like main reasons those guys have gone in different directions
Opportunity is the only thing Cam is currently lacking. Larry Hughes, Tracy McGrady & Paul George are the type of guys he should be watching
Ironically; early I thought MB Could be what Cam would be
Now its can Cam be MB lite-
I like Cam as well, but the difference to me is between the ears… Bridges TOOK it, Cam wants it delivered to him
Lol I feel like you haven’t followed Cam very closely. He’s continually gotten better & better throughout his careers. To lose faith in him now is a bit ridiculous. And comparing him to Miles is a lil weird from the jump, Cam plays more like a guard & Miles is a forward. The last part about Cam wants it delivered to him is obviously laughable lol don’t know what made you think adding that was a good idea
Not losing faith, said I liked him
Difference – Bridges forced his way near stardom
CR- TBD
I mean your team just literally sold him to move up what 20 spaces in a draft? Seems they are the ones that lost faith at that price huh
Ill root for him but I don’t think he has the Bridge hard- drive downloaded in his system. Some players do, some don’t ……Id wager ATL would know better than anybody tho
Cam moreso lost faith in the Hawks than vice versa. Him getting hurt last season & then Kevin playin well, especially in the playoffs & getting his big extension was basically the end of things for Cam here. He views himself as a starter/star in the league & him & Rich Paul didn’t see that happening here. They asked for a trade right around the time Kev got his extension last summer. Me personally I thought he should been our starting 2guard all season but Kev got the nod. Tbh Kevin Huerter is the guy that you should be comparing Cam to, not Miles Bridges
Would love to see the dunk contest expanded like the three point comp has been.
Why not make it 8 contestants. 3 dunks each, then have the top 4, the have the final.
Would love to see Ant, Bridges, Green, Obi, Hami, Kuminga, DJJ and Simons all in 1 contest this year.
Miles is having a solid yr. This is yr 4 for him and is 23 yrs old. So take a good look at how long it takes to perform in NBA. It’s not just about talent. You gotta want it and sustain it. Don’t know him or watch enough to say he’s for real. But I liked him coming out and he is more a true 3.
Cam is is 22 in yr 5. But has not played the mins Miles has. Hawks have more vet talent and harder for him to get mins. He’ll get his chance in NY. Cause we are starving for future stars or starters. Cam is still growing physically. He’s a true wing can play 2 or 3. Thibs can help his D. I think Knicks will move players to give him PT. Imo Rose likes him so it’s not up to Thibs. He sees big upside still with Cam, so do I.
Cam is in his 3rd yr smh
Obi1 will definitely be in dunk contest. Has to be man.
