The Raptors have phoned rival teams to gauge what sort of return they could get in exchange for Goran Dragic‘s expiring contract and a first-round pick, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
Toronto is known to be in the market for an upgrade at center, but likely won’t want to part with any of its core players in an in-season deal. That makes Dragic’s expiring deal and a draft pick the most logical package for the Raptors to offer.
That framework of Dragic and draft assets was brought up in negotiations for Pacers center Myles Turner before he sustained a stress fracture in his foot, says Fischer.
Here are a few more trade-related rumors from around the NBA:
- In addition to confirming that Evan Fournier, Kemba Walker, and Alec Burks are available on the trade market, as previously reported, Fischer says the Knicks are also open to moving center Nerlens Noel. Like the other three veterans, Noel is in the first season of a multiyear contract.
- David Aldridge and Josh Robbins of The Athletic add Ivica Zubac and Nicolas Batum to the list of players the Clippers may be willing to move in a deal for a play-making point guard. A previous report stated that Marcus Morris, Serge Ibaka, and Eric Bledsoe are available. Batum has the ability to veto a trade that involves him.
- Nets big man Paul Millsap, who is training in Atlanta while he waits to be traded or released, says his body feels great and he feels like he still has a lot to contribute, as he told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports (video link). According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Bulls – who pursued Millsap in the offseason – are a team worth keeping a close eye on if the 36-year-old is waived.
Knicks are very conservative. They are not trading anyone and anything
Lakers have nothing others want. They are not trading anyone and anything
Say yes to Clippers.
Wouldn’t call Randles extension or Fournier’s contract “conservative”
Millsap would be a good addition for Bulls. Wouldn’t cost much. And this way Williams would be back next yr. They wouldn’t have to trade him. Millsap is a solid vet.
I think Millsap still has 15 min a game to give. That is all they need, someone to play when they cannot play small ball.
I doubt they trade Fournier. He could be moved at end of yr for better value. Plus I think they need his shooting. We need a REAL PG……. That will fix it all.
Fox >>for<< Randle, Mitch, #1 pick. 2nd rd pick…….
Moved for better value? I’d take a bag of rocks from anyone willing to take him and that contract. More likely we’d need to attach assets…for the same bag of rocks.
That 2nd unit is trash tonite why not play Cam now ?
As a Sacramento fan…. I take that trade in an instant. I think you’re seriously over hyping Fox. Sure he’s the main guy in Sac but… who else wpuld be? Randle is miles ahead of Fox like it or not
Today biggest story
Simmons prefers to play for Warriors and Mavs
Mavs need Raptors and Knicks help to make 4 team deal
Mavs offer Hardaway, Brunson and DFS
Highly unlikely to happen
Nurkic and Tony snell for Dragic 1st round pick. Portland may lose Nurkic for nothing and they don’t have a draft pick unless they tank (1-10); Dragic gives them a point guard which they need. But still to what end. The Blazers are not in good shape. Nurkic could be the center the Raps need, but he’s a FA after this and a risk to go elsewhere.
The Raptors can try and bring back JV, but I’m not sure what use NO has for Dragic or the pick. They are better off keeping JV.
If Sac is desperate to clear salary they could send Richaun Holmes and Moe Harkless for Goran and a second round pick. They’ll want the first rounder but the Raptors would be eating salaries so they have some leverage. If not, then give them the first rounder. Raps need a center. Holmes is under contract and in his prime, exactly what the Raptors need.
I’d hate to see Holmes go, but would welcome that trade for the 1st round pick. He just hasn’t been the same this year.
We need as many assets as we can acquire (and proper tank / rebuild), but as long as Vivek is running the show (and McNair fighting for his job), this most likely will never happen.
Gotta love being a King’s fan!
I do believe that the #1 of Portland is top 14 protected. Right now they have this draft pick and they way they are going, they will have it at the end of the year
I don’t think Nurkics a FRP on an expiring contract. If Turner was thier target, they have their sights a lil higher.
Just some ideas …
Nurkic for Dragic and a first..
Wood and Gordon for Dargic, Boucher, a first and a 2 seconds…
Horford for Dragic and Boucher
Duncan Robinson for Dragic and a first
Bertans and Gafford for Dragic
No x 5
Make a suggestion then
Hate comments like these.
Use some brains cells and explain why you think so or why a certain team wouldn’t be interested.
Or suggest your own idea or something just saying no is pointless
NYK have 5 wing players who warrant minutes (Barrett, Grimes, Reddick, Fournier and Burks), before even getting to Quickley (who still plays most of his minutes off the ball). Too many. Even if they can’t find a trad e they really like, they might move one. Burks has played great for them over 1.5 years, but he’s a guy who can help any contender, and has a team friendly contract.
