Nuggets fans have been hoping that Jamal Murray will make a strong comeback this season and lift the team to another deep postseason run.
However, it’s not even certain Murray will play in 2021/22, Mike Singer of the Denver Post reports. Citing two league sources, Singer writes that it’s a 50-50 proposition Murray will take the court this season and that the decision might ultimately be made by the point guard himself.
Murray tore the ACL in his left knee last April and he’s continued to get treatment, test his knee and see how it reacts. The next steps include playing 3-on-3 and 4-on-4, improving his conditioning and getting his heart rate up.
Murray and Michael Porter Jr., who is recovering from another back surgery, could be assigned as soon as this coming week to Denver’s G League affiliate in Grand Rapids, Mich. Porter has been through lengthy rehabs before but this is new territory for Murray and the Nuggets are not sure if he’s mentally ready to play at this juncture, Singer adds.
If Jamal comes back (he will), Denver should be the favorite in the West
Stick to your hawk homerism. Suns will mop the floor with the nuggets
Why so salty?
Nobody is salty you’ve just proven over and over and over and over again that you lack knowledge when it comes to basketball. Hell your latest take here that Murray coming back would make the Nuggets the favorite in the west says it all. Noticed you’ve soured on the hawks lately what happened to all the championship talk??
Boy u saltier than the Dead Sea. If you disagree with what I said about Jamal feel to state your reasoning. Otherwise go kick rocks
Blah blah blah. Notice how everyone here hates you? Hell son maybe you should take a hint but stone cold will put you in your place as many times as you want.
Jamal is a great player but the nuggets have already come out and said if he can’t come back for the regular season they will not play him the playoffs. Funny how once the hawks have a losing record you immediately jump onto another team. Plus even when they had him playing they weren’t the top team in the west, proving once again you know nothing about basketball. Just crawl back into your hole and let the adults discuss basketball son
And that’s the bottom line cause stone cold said so
What makes you so certain he will? And if he does it’ll take him some time to rid the rust. Same with MPJ. Rooting for both of them but I’d rather them be 100% going into next year than force it this year
Because it seems like he’s gonna be ready physically & the only thing that will keep him off the floor in the postseason when his team has a chance to win a title would be if he physically couldn’t go. They’re getting rid of the rust now & in their G-League assignment. There’s gonna be a minutes restriction on them when they come back but other than that these are elite level guys that are gonna be extremely productive as soon as they hit the floor. Look at Kyrie this season he came back beasting after sitting out for months. Look at Dwight Howard’s 1st couple games after his back surgery, he was dominant even playing with Kobe/Pau. When it comes to elite talent, as long as they’re physically healthy they’re most likely gonna be great. Physically both Jamal & MPJ are as close to 100% as they’ll get. If they’re not then they shouldn’t play. But as tough as the mental part of it is, that won’t be enough to keep them from helping arguably the best Denver Nuggets team ever on their title push
The favorite what?
It’s a gambling term, basically the opposite of underdog. Sorta sucks that I have to explain stuff like this. Next time just google it
Wow so sorry not all of us can grow up with a fancy private school education. Read the room…what an elitist
1st off I’m definitely a product of Atlanta Public Schools. 2nd I knew what a favorite/underdog was since probably the age of 6 if not sooner, that’s pretty basic info for any sports fan. 3rd I’ve read this room & y’all actually do make my former APS classmates look like geniuses, but instead of asking me to dumb it down how about y’all become smarter?
You know, gambling addiction is real and I would think someone with your big city Atlanta education would have a little more tact.
Meanwhile to you gambling is just a game. Well for some its life…
At 1st it was a private school education, now it’s a big city education lol next it’ll be a 21st century education I received… Definitely appreciate the tips on how serious gambling addiction is & the hard turn you made to steer the conversation in that direction is also well appreciated. I only gamble on boxing tho. I would ask your advice on this Mick Conlan fight but of course you don’t even understand the difference between a favorite and an underdog so maybe gambling advice ain’t your strong suit lol
First its basketball then boxing then suits? You want fashion advice? Then don’t wear white after labor day. (Burn)
Boxing is all rigged anyway. But that “insider trading” i.e. gambling on the outcome of a fixed match certainly tracks with your elitist mentality.
Have fun with all your school chums working at Goldman saks 5th Avenue where you wear suits and talk down to (and steal from) the real American people who make this country run. Makes me sick…
Dude I think everyone knows the term favorite. No need to explain yourself. Lil D’s dumbass is just trolling. That said, still wouldn’t call Denver the favorite this year but I love how they’ve built that team
I can speak for myself, thanks. And don’t talk about my hindquarters until you’ve seen it yourself, thank you very much!
W’s are still the favorite when Green and Iggy comes back.
No there not
Suns are defending WC champs. They have improved since, and Ayton is max-motivated.
If CPaul cannot go, that could open the door. Yes, I will enjoy Cam Payne vs Monte Moore.
And Frank Kaminsky is back… PER 22… and Mcgee’s PER is highest syill. Kaminski vs Cousins, great second card.
I should root for Denver tho, to see that through.
GSW will end up 0-for-Wiggins.
What is this mentally ready nonsense. MPJ has played playoff basketball. He hasn’t moved teams. His team is essentially the same exact team it was when he went down sans Boogie Cousins. What does it all mean Basil??
Mentally ready to trust a surgically repaired joint in the most competitive league of the most stop/start/jump-up-and-down sport.
Nuggets have surpassed expectations this year and have a nice thing going. Even if he (and MPJ) were coming off the bench in limited minutes it’d be a nice boost. The bench has been playing ok and better recently, but if Bones, Forbes and DMC/JMG were flanked by Murray and Porter Jr that’d be very nice.
Even if both were to return, it would be unfair for expectations to be any higher than just enjoying seeing them work their way back into rhythm. Anything more (post season success) would be a bonus
Mentally unready due to being physical unready…
Mind body connection…insightful. nice.
