Warriors guard Stephen Curry is progressing well in his recovery from a left foot sprain and will begin individual on-court activities next week, the team announced today (via Twitter). Curry has spent the last two weeks “performing various rehabilitation exercises in the training and weight rooms under the guidance of the team’s performance staff.”
Prior to the Warriors’ announcement, Adrian Wojnarowski and Kendra Andrews of ESPN (via Twitter) reported that the possibility of Curry playing in a single regular season game hadn’t been ruled out, but the team’s statement said the next update on the former MVP will be issued on April 11, a day after the regular season ends.
In other words, it sounds like the Warriors expect Curry to miss the remainder of the regular season.
The expectation remains that Curry will be ready for the start of the playoffs, according to Wojnarowski and Andrews. For teams not involved in the play-in tournament, the postseason will begin on April 16 or 17, so Curry would have nearly a full week of extra recovery time between the Warriors’ regular season finale and first-round opener.
Golden State is in a battle with the Mavericks for the No. 3 seed in the West — the two teams are currently tied with matching 48-29 records. Barring a major change in the standings during the next 10 days, the Warriors will likely face either Denver or Utah in the first round, as those two clubs are tied for the No. 5 seed at 46-31.
Well we shall see how the fresh legs Theory works out. This is a nice break away from 35 minutes and night at least for three or so weeks. With Klay out for half the season and Draymond Green missing a lot of time as well, it will show if the resting up Theory holds water.
The back of my mind says that this will hurt continuity more than it will help with reduced wear and tear.
I think I saw that Dallas has a little bit easier schedule so the Warriors will probably wind up with the number four seed.
It doesn’t look promising to be on the Suns side of the bracket but the Silver Lining is that the Grizzlies are tough too. Perhaps an even tougher matchup?
I’d rather see them play the Suns vs the Grizz … the increased physicality of the playoffs will def benefit the Grizz more
Suns are 2021 and better… will roll GSW/UTA/DEN.
You watch the game Wednesday? Without Curry they gave the Suns a run for their money.
Have to beat Nuggs or Jazz first
Thumb up and yes true, but those two squads are little light on the Stars.
Sure their big-name guy will get 35 but who else will step up? Decent teams in Utah and Denver but come playoff time the defense intensifies and they don’t have guys who can overcome and get it done besides their two stars.
get well soon king 🤞
Warriors have no chemistry right now. With Curry out they need to find chemistry and learn to win without Curry. Its been much tougher for the older players than the younger players. That is another reason they are struggling I see too many times just throw it to Thompson and hope it goes in. Wiggins needs to step up and go to the basket. Green needs to stop looking for Thompson passing up other players.
There are no warriors without curry lol. It doesn’t work like that. Just relax until playoffs start u r way too strest
Strest
Once everybody is healthy, the biggest question is what the postseason rotation will be. It’s usually 8 players. W’s probably go as deep as 9 players, but WHO will be those 9 and WHO among the reserves get the most playing time. We dont want to panic, but it’s a little mess because we have many players. You cant play them all in the postseason.
If its Chiozza every warrior fan will be saying fire Kerr.
Curry
Wiggins
Thompson
Green
Looney
Poole
Porter
Sprinkle in Kuminga and Iggy depending on matchups.
It’ll be the same rotations except guys coming off the bench will play a lot less. I like what you write here tacocat, plus Payton for a few sprinkled minutes also.
I Suppose a guy like Bjelica only gets some burn if Looney or Green gets in serious foul trouble early.
Marc Gasol?
Can’t guard the pick-and-roll up top nor the stretch four or five. He’s just a big load right now and those guys are done. Especially when their mid-30s they’re even slower. You can see how it affects Al Horford at his age.
Gasol might be okay on offense with passing and passable three-point shooting but in the playoffs it’s all about defense. If the warriors were facing Wilt Chamberlain then Gasol would be great, but they’re facing guys who can shoot it and dribble it and handle it and drive it.
GP2 will play a lot, no doubt.
SF has really s’d the bed since the All Star break
Haven’t the Sacramento Kings soiled the entire bedroom for last 20 years?
And that has nothing to do with what he said. Take your Whataboutism elsewhere.
If a Kings fan can Trash the Warriors then a Warriors fan can Trash the Kings. Get it?
