The Bulls have strong interest in young Sixers forward Matisse Thybulle, sources told Heavy.com’s Sean Deveney.
Bulls GM Marc Eversley, a former Philadelphia executive, was instrumental in pushing the Sixers to acquire him in the 2019 draft, Deveney notes.
While Thybulle’s vaccination status stirred some angst within the Sixers organization during the postseason, it was his spotty 3-point shooting that rendered him a non-factor, despite his defensive reputation.
The Sixers could try to create some wiggle room under the luxury tax but that type of trade would likely require a third team.
Here’s more from Deveney:
- The Lakers tried to package Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn in trades this past season but didn’t get an enticing offer. They could revisit that scenario, even though they’re reluctant to attach their next available first-rounder in 2027. One league exec tossed out the names of Duncan Robinson, Malik Beasley and Christian Wood as the type of player they could get in return.
- The Magic won’t trade the top pick unless they get the No. 2 or 3 pick as part of the package, but the Thunder and Rockets are open for business regarding the other top three selections.
Moving Thybulle makes sense at this point. His offensive game is unplayable. Green injury could effect the decision
Internet trade idea
Lakers trade Westbrook to get Huge TPE
Then trade Horton Tucker and Nunn ……
Lakers end up with Zach LaVine and Ayton
Lol.That happens, give me your Venmo. Lakers will most likely play Westbrook for half the season and trade him as buyout. No way they’ll land Ayton or Lavine unless they trade AD. Put THT and Nunn for Duncan Robinson or Joe Harris which could be had and that works. Heat or Nets add a 3rd team and flip the new guys which makes sense.
Maybe Heat add size, trade THT and Nunn to Kings, go for Rishaun Holmes. Maybe Heat culture does wonders for Holmes. Play Holmes with Bam and use Bam as stretch.
Bam is going no where. The Lakers are not going to get anything of value for THT Nunn or Westbrick. The the three will have to show they have something and the Lakers will make a move at the deadline. Maybe Houston will bite and trade wall for Westbrick and either Nunn or THT.
Lakers get Zach lavine and deandre ayton for THT Nunn and Westbrook is the fairest offer ever put on this site lol, teams weren’t giving up bottom of roster guys for THT and Nunn, lakers fandom demands constant delusions
Thybulle is worth more than a salary dump. I would swap Thybulle and 23 for Coby White and 18, if the Nets defer the pick.
What’s in it for Chicago? They send out both the better player and better pick
There isn’t much difference between White and Shake. I wouldn’t trade Thybulle for White. Only difference is that White’s played more than Shake. Per 100, Per 36 they’re the same player, and White is worse defensively.
If I could turn Thybulle, Furkan and #23 into Royce O’neale and #18 and the Jazz take White – I’d do that. At 18 you might land Ochai Agbaji, Kendall Brown, Tari Eason, or TyTy Washington.
Then you decide if you can get someone on the MLE at 10.3 and the BAE at 4M.
Embiid – Tobias – O’Neale – Harden – Maxey
BBall, Niang, Springer, Joe, Shake, Ochai?
Bench still sucks, but the starting 5 is solid and they need to strike gold with the MLE/BAE and a vet min or 2. Oladipo, TJ Warren (IF healthy), Otto Porter, Morris, etc…
So Utah should trade their best perimeter defender in Royce O’neale (which is their biggest weakness) for Coby White whose game is very similar to that of Jordan Clarkson’s?
I mean yeah it makes total sense to me.
I also do not understand this, while making trades you should remember that if your team gets all the best players and picks in the trade it is likely wildly unrealistic
The trade is pretty equal value. If the Bulls want Thybulle, they have to give something the Sixers want.
Clarkson and Conley are both rumored to be on the trade block so, it would make sense if the Jazz retooled at PG/6th man at a cheaper clip.
Not really an outlandish trade. You type as though I said they got Donovan Mitchell. Oneale is a role player.
Thybulle is really solid and improved his offence with Harden. But ultimately he’s probably never going to effective from three.
Like a modern day Tony Allen.
As for moving him to the bulls.
Can’t see it happening.
Only thing that I could see as a possibility would be Thybulle and Green for Patrick Williams.
Which I can’t see the bulls thrilled to do
Lol bulls wouldn’t trade an injured pat Williams for jerami grant, Thybulle and Danny green is not worth jerami grant
As I said can’t see the bulls doing it
I love Thybulle, but I am open to seeing what he can net us in return. He is a solid locker room guy, hard worker, good teammate and stud defender….but come playoffs he is a liability. He can help a team to a few more wins, and that will be attractive to some teams….but not a difference maker in the playoffs unless his 3 gets a magical improvement
He is not a liability in the postseason. Look at Tucker or Draymond or even GP2. He is a valuable asset for any legit contender.
Ticket can shoot the 3 ball, Draymond creates most the offence and GP2 offers something on offence too. Thybulle really doesn’t do anything at that end of the court
Danny Green is gone for the next season and Sixers have the option – he is gone.
Russ and Nunn to Philly for Harris and Thybulle??
I don’t think the Sixers would want to repair Russ and harden after the Houston debacle
Didn’t they post well together in Houston? Plus, they get out of Harris’s contract and can resign Harden.
Thybulle will be part of a package to obtain a big piece, not a bench warmer.
Would Denver have anything Philly wants in return for Thybulle?
Thybulle has 1 year left on his rookie deal so unless you’re trading for 1 year of service you will have to pay him as well.
