Come on Nets take that #23 pick already.
For tax saving purpose or trade, Lakers need to acquire Warriors 3 picks
14-man rotation
I like the thought and reason behind it, but good luck getting that late 1st. The Lakers assets don’t really match up well. Lakers could swap 1sts with stipulations, but Lakers would most likely use their 1st in a trade for veterans vs rookies. But if they strike out there, that could be an alternative
No Laker picks. LOVE IT.
Who cares about those I’ve paid losing Lakers?
Over paid losing Lakers.
Sankara 2022 mock draft, lottery edition: Orl-Paolo Banchero Duke.. 2OKC-Jabari Smith Jr Auburn.. 3Hou-Bennedict Mathurin Arizona.. 4Sac-Chet Holmgren Gonzaga.. 5Det-Keegan Murray Iowa.. 6Ind-Jaden Ivey Purdue.. 7Por-Jalen Duren Memphis.. 8NOP-Johnny Davis Wisconsin.. 9SAS-Orlando Robinson Fresno St.. 10Was-Jaden Hardy GLELite.. 11NYK-TyTy Washington UK.. 12OKC-Mark Williams Duke.. 13Cha-Shaedon Sharpe UK.. 14Cle-AJ Griffin Duke.. 15Cha-Nikola Jovic Serbia.. 16Atl-MarJon Beauchamp GLElite.. 17Hou-Jeremy Sochan Baylor.. 18Chi-Ochai Agbaji KU.. 19Min-Dyson Daniels GLElite.. 20SAS-Kendall Brown Baylor.. 21Den-Malaki Branham OSU.. 22Mem-Kennedy Chandler Tennessee.. 23Phi-Ousmane Dieng NZ Breakers.. 24Mil-Blake Wesley Notre Dame.. 25SAS-Pat Baldwin Jr UW-Mil.. 26Dal-Jean Montero OTE.. 27Mia-Leonard Miller Canada.. 28GSW-Wendell Moore Duke.. 29Mem-Ismael Kamagate Paris.. 30OKC-Josh Minott Memphis
Sankara> bulls dont needagbaji.dyson daniels will be top 15,maybe top 10.so does with malaki.where are kessler, diabete, liddel, buttler? They will be there as 1st rounder, and bulls need one of them
Bulls could def use a guy like Agbaji. He’s a bigger, probably better version of Ayo & could be the Bulls starting 2guard for a long time if Zach leaves. Pretty much every team could use an efficient, athletic, strong 2way guard like Agbaji, especially the Bulls.. what makes you think Daniels or Malaki can’t drop into the lower teens?.. those guys you named are in the 2nd round headed toward a 2way deal. Clearly none of them are as good as Agbaji, esp as NBA players but even as college players. I’m not even sure what Buttler you’re referring to tbh
John buttler of florida state. 7″1′ big who can shot 3s.he is thin player, but if he bulk up,he can be very good big in nba
Butler most likely comin back. He could possibly be a lottery pick next yr tho.
And if zach leave, ddr will be bulls sg,pat will at sf,and bulls need pf.a defensive pf.
Pat & Demar are the starting forwards for the foreseeable future in Chi, no doubt. Pat is their defensive 4. If Sochan from Baylor was available at 18 then he’d be a possible pick for Chi but Agbaji is a better fit compared to him too tbh
Too low- Roddy, Sharpe, Branham, Holmgren
Too high- Mathurin, TyTy
Please no- Griffin to CLE
May imitate- Williams to OKC
Did ElDon get to you- Jovic #15
Respect for the rigorous listing
Any reason why u feel Mathurin & TyTy shouldn’t go #3 & #11?.. any reasons why those other guys should get picked earlier? Why shouldn’t Cle take AJ?
Griffin cannot defend guards, cannot use his great shooting ability coming hard around screens, has a solo nature and does not seem engaged. Saw him a number of times.
Mathurin, no major flaws, just not developed like the competition that high. That could change, and his size is desired, so he is a good bet, but I suspect Sharpe will go first for 6’6″.
TyTy I just never notice, and PG is a valued position. Nowadays a star would want it. You want more for #11. Most years with better PGs, he would drop.
Griffin isn’t a guard so he’d rarely be asked to defend guards. Lauri can’t defend guards either lol. A solo nature? I mean that’s flat out ridiculous lol. Doesn’t seem engaged? We may be talking about different guys. Sounds like you’re thinking of Chris Griffin from Family Guy. I’m talking about AJ Griffin, the kid that just helped Duke get to the Final4. Cleveland would be fortunate if he dropped to them. He’d be great competition for Okoro’s spot in the rotation.. In what way is Mathurin’s game not developed? You are suggesting Shaedon Sharpe is more developed? Lol how does that make sense? If anything Mathurin is the most developed of the elite prospects in this draft.. take it from someone that did notice TyTy, he’s really good & he’s gonna be even better in the pros where he can actually be his team’s lead guard. He played off the ball a lot in college but was obv still extremely productive. I’d say it’s probable that he becomes the best pg NYK has had in 50yrs if they draft him next month
So I just took a brief glance at the couple of big boards I usually use to start my process, and noticed a lot of 4/3s, 5s, 5/4s, 3/4s, 4/5s, and just overall wing players, which to me makes this a potentially really deep draft with a lot of options, with so many teams obviously needing help at most of those positions…to me, it also means that shooting is a bigger premium than usual in this draft/the teams getting these guys need to already have shooting on their roster, or be angling to add it around a lot of these guys to maximize their fits
1 take away is that this is a draft that has a lot of modern type of players with size across the board that can play/defend multiple positions, with skills as well, leading to the future I’ve talked about where we have length on the floor at all times across the board, that can do everything, like what Toronto is building
I havent found much information on certain guys in that quick glance, which makes sense since I usually dont start doing this until a couple weeks away from the draft. Can you give me any I do you might have on the guy you connected to the Heat, Leonard Miller? I saw a Paul George comp on him somewhere just now. Also I saw a player from Michigan, named Moussa Diabite connected to them. Do you have any knowledge on him? You guys watch college basketball, so you have prior knowledge of these guys games. Usually I might know at least a couple, and sometimes more, or have at least seen some games like last year’s G-league ignite team, before starting to prepare, but this year, I’m literally going in totally blind. Would like to hear some opinions on some of these players, if possible/you’d be willing to
LMiller is a long, athletic lefty forward who to me brings to mind a mix bw James Posey & Josh Smith. Not quite as athletic as Smith, not quite the shooter that Posey was but he has a lot of their best qualities. He’s gonna be great in transition & at disrupting passing lanes. He’s unselfish & has potential to all-star level guy in the right situation with the right coaching. He’s pretty similar to another kid in this class that I have going about 10picks earlier to my Hawks, MarJon Beauchamp. Main difference besides Miller being a southpaw is the fact that Miller would most likely have to develop for another yr or 2 before being expected to break the rotation of a good team. Beauchamp is 2,3yrs older, is ready to contribute asap & is more of a sure thing. Miller is a gamble but Miami can obv afford to take that type gamble on 1 of the youngest kids in the draft bc they have am elite team already… Moussa Diabate is a kid I was very high on coming into the season much his teammate Caleb Houstan. Both guys sorta underwhelmed (which was a big reason UM underwhelmed as a team) as freshman. Diabate was a force on defense at times but didn’t show much of his offensive repertoire which is a big reason a lot of people thought he could be a lotto pick. There’s another big from Paris in this class who I like better, Ismael Kamagate. Kamagate plays much more aggressive & seems stronger & more of a true 5. I truly hope Diabate comes back to Ann Arbor bc UM should be a beast next season with him & he could improve his stock
Thanks for the info. 1 thing I take away for sure is there should be multiple options in the Heat’s range that address needs for them at the 4 or the wing, so it’s possible they’ll keep the pick, instead of using it in a bigger trade
Former, I think your early takes are off… teams are trying for wings but finding wide swings of quality in functional areas. Players beyond 5-10 will take some development in their weak areas. I have a Hollinger review elsewhere.
Obviously, I cant say much b/c I havent really looked at anything besides a quick glance at a couple of big boards, but Hollinger always $#!+$ on the draft
Well they all screw it up in retrospect. I just pick a few favorites, which is a luxury. Maybe this year I will get around to a full list!
Trayce Jackson-Davis, Kenneth Lofton Jr & the aforementioned Caleb Houstan would would all be good options for Miami at the end of the 1st rd. Yea I’d def keep that pick if I’m them
I don’t know enough about these college kids to argue anything, except the Kings pick. Whoever they should take, they won’t. Have them pick someone who shouldn’t go til late first round and the most likely to be a bust. Kings shouldn’t even be allowed in the lottery
If I woulda done this I probably would had them take Shaedon Sharpe. Chet would be a great addition to the Kings tho. The Kings have made plenty of very good draft picks. I think they’ll manage not to mess this 1 up
Magic — #1 Jabari Smith
Thunder – #2 Paolo Banchero
Rockets – #3 Chet Holmgren
Kings — #4 Jaden Ivey
Pistons – #5 Keegan Murray
Pacers — #6 Shaedon Sharpe
Blazers – #7 Bennedict Mathurin
Pelicans – #8 Johnny Davis
Spurs — #9 Jalen Duren
Wizards – #10 TyTy Washington
Knicks — #11 AJ Griiffin
Thunder – #12 Ochai Agbaji
Hornets – #13 Tari Eason
Cavs — #14 Blake Wesley
Spurs are not passing on best D Center in draft. Holmgren has a chance to be better. But Duren is a guarantee to me. Youngest player in draft.
I rather and hope Knicks take Agbaji. But I don’t see their FO passing on Griffin. Cavs can now move Sexton. Wesley is a Jrue type. Big PG .
That’s my lottery ……. There is big upside here. This is a good lottery this yr.
@Knick
Ooohh…..a 6’5 pg who shot 40/30/65. where do I sign up for that? Cavs have a pg already. his name is Garland. Sexton is our starting shooting guard with a career 46/38/83. I’d rather they resign him and look at an athletic combo SG/SF instead.
He’s the backup with still a lot of growing to do. Ah yes why would you know that. Garland is the reason Cavs will move Sexton. Ah yes why would you know that too. Two six foot guards starting in the NBA. Ah yes why would you know that. Cavs already tried both of them starting. Just got them Okoro another lottery pick. Ah yes why would you know that. He will learn from Garland. Cavs traded for LaVert. What position you think he plays. Yeah why would you know that.
Garland n LaVert is nice backcourt. Wesley would be a solid third guard. And Sexton can bring back good value.
LeBron — Sexton, Love, two #1 picks (this yrs plus)
Drivel.
Detroit lost this draft for sure. They need to take a chance on someone like MPJ. High risk high reward. Nuggets won’t publicly say it but pretty sure they want out of his contract.
Detroit gets MPJ, #23
Nuggets get Tobias, Thybulle, Joseph, and Olynyk
Sixers get Monte, Grant, and Barton
And then they take Sharpe at 5 and Jovic or Wendell Moore at 23.
Not bad!
I think Nuggets would want Grant back.
Denver would never do this
Do we know the rookie salary values for these picks yet? Or do we need to wait until next year’s cap number is official?
We need to wait for the cap to be officially set, but RealGM has the numbers based on a $122MM cap projection (the amounts they list are 100% of the rookie scale, not 120%): link to basketball.realgm.com
I wonder how much value certain picks will have on the trade market with certain teams that have multiple picks already being stacked with young players. I could see several teams trying to trade their pick(s) for veterans, so I’m really curious to see how this year plays out. That being said, I havent had a chance to start preparing for this draft, so I’m not aware of how deep it necessarily is, and what positions are generally the main guys
Having thought about those things, I think we are approaching a time window in the next 2-3 years where it might finally be time to start thinking expansion, with 2 new teams. With so much talent that isnt currently in the NBA, so much young talent currently in the NBA, and draft classes obviously continuing to produce rotation players in both rounds, as well as undrafted guys, they can still keep a lot of the parity we’re really getting to, even with those extra teams…it might also mean we are going to have to figure out more of a way to utilize G-league teams with even more players being tied to organizations through some sort of rights, especially now that there are 30 teams there too
