Grizzlies star Ja Morant will likely miss Game 4 against the Warriors on Monday, head coach Taylor Jenkins said, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic (Twitter link). Morant suffered a knee injury in Game 3 and will continue receiving treatment.
Morant finished with a game-high 34 points, seven assists and three steals in the contest, shooting 13-of-21 from the floor in 36 minutes. He appeared to injure himself on a play involving Warriors guard Jordan Poole, who grabbed Morant’s knee as he was swiping for the ball.
“It looks like Jordan Poole grabbed (Morant’s) knee and pulled it,” Jenkins said postgame, per Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian (via Twitter).
It’s unclear if Poole will face any discipline for the play. The Grizzlies played without Dillon Brooks (suspension) in Game 3, as Brooks committed a hard foul on Gary Payton II in the previous game. If the Grizzlies lose on Monday, they’ll go home with a chance to force a Game 6 at Golden State.
Memphis went 20-5 without Morant this season. It has the backcourt depth to remain competitive, and De’Anthony Melton or Tyus Jones will likely start at point guard if Morant can’t play.

No way that .5 second grab would have hurt his knee that badly. He hurt it on the awkward landing jumping at Thompson.
Again deflecting the facts. No reason to grab his knee. Not when you are up 20. Not to steal ball. Which obviously he couldn’t get. His intent was to grab the Knee. Lol You are JayZ ….. I got 100 reasons but the Truth ain’t one.
HomerVision is detrimental to your knowledge of the game.
So now your obsession with me is to follow me from article to article. You are not mentally stable. find somebody else that wants you attention.
My intent is to show your ignorance. Just keep showing it. And I will point it out.

NBA just ruled that Poole is innocent so even the experts proved you are a liar. So Karen isn’t their a BBQ or a suspicious looking fed ex guy you can call the police on?
The league huh. Like I need them to tell me what is or not a basketball play.
Yanking is the new sport for the Warrior Homers. Let the Yanking begin …..
Warrior homers never saw a Yanker they didn’t like. It’s too funny.
Dirty Dra and PollutedPoole …….
Yanking it hard in an arena near you
Did you even watch the replay of him going at Thompson 10:44 mark of the third period and how he landed on that same knee awkwardly and then was limping? No you didn’t
The only ignorance you are showing is your own ignorance. And your thirst for drama.
Morant will miss one game?
0.7 game?
I bet he plays Jenkins is probably doing this to get Poole suspended by playing the victim card.
Well, if didn’t work. Now what? I think Morant is more hurt than they’re leading us to believe.
I think Jenkins is backing up his player in the same way that Kerr was of his player. Just simple team first before all attitude.
We will see the depth of how much is the league invested in GSW!
You see, there is no way they will suspend Poole as it should!
Wow, I’ve seen harder fouls from kindergarten kids.
His knee was going one way. And he was trying to plant his foot. That’s where leverage and strength comes from. For all you who can’t understand this. Poole grabbed him when he was not planted. And pulled the other way. Dirty play ….. why are you doing this. His 47 on you really hurt you. It was most EVER by 21 and under player. And he was going for another 40. Morant is going for historical games. And Poole is going for his knee. It don’t matter if he hurt it or not. Just like Dra was lucky Clarke didn’t break his neck. It’s not outcome it’s intent. Who grabs a knee when going for ball. A SUCIO….
Ja is 22 expert

No way Al. I’m a warrior fan but I try to be as diplomatic as possible. I’m a basketball fan first and a warrior freak second. And watching the play there’s no way that Poole grabbed his knee and injured it. His knee did not displace in any way. There was no awkward in any sense of the word.
If Morant’s knee is hurt, I believe sincerely that it was hurt on a different play on a different occasion. That’s my objective observation. I’ve written on the Green and GP2 incidents previously.
So you can look at a replay and not see Morant’s foot pulled off the floor. Or his knee bend sideways. Or the difference between a basketball and a knee. I guess Poole can’t either.
I will say Gary that you are probably the best GSW fan on here. Ja very well may have injured the knee earlier in the game, but Poole definitely grabbed & pulled it and most likely exacerbated the injury even further. I don’t think he meant to do it, but he undoubtedly grabbed and pulled the knee, and when the whistle blows he’s like what’d I do??? lol
Side note – The NBA is not going to suspend a GSW player, because it is against their best interest. They would much rather have a Cali team (and all the revenue they generate) advance more than one from Tenn.
Another side note – PLEASE take Mark Jackson off the broadcast for any GSW games. He’s a bigger homer than most the GSW fans on here. You’d think the way they replaced him with Kerr then they went on to appear in 5 straight finals winning 3 of them he’d have a little more animosity. NOPE he’s still a homer.
Man being a Knicks fan really messed up your mind huh? I don’t blame you.
But if you really think that gentle love tap by Poole damaged Morants knee, you’re not that smart or must have the worlds weakest knees just like Ja Morant.
He’s just not that smart!
I don’t believe it. This is all a show by the grizzlies. An act to take the conversation off the flagrant on GP2. Come tomorrow they’ll announce Jaw is ready for game 4. He’ll come out and say how much pain he in but he’s pushing thru cuz he’s a competitor. Dude is a joke.
Say what you want to say about the call but Morant is definitely a competitor. The works he’s done to get better in such a short time in the league is a testament to that.
If Bane can play through his back problems, the Grizzlies can win without Ja. It will be interesting to see how Bane and Brooks perform without Ja hogging the possessions.
PO games are not the proper time to make player adjustments even if the Grizz played good without Ja… Jenkins cannot switch the Ja on/off that easily… By the i said it before but Grizz have lost some team playing cohesion since the beginning of the PO, cause of the Ja come back after a month of indisponibility.
