Warriors center James Wiseman plans to play in the Summer League if he doesn’t suffer any more setbacks in his recovery from a right knee injury, Kerith Burke of NBC Sports Bay Area tweets. Wiseman was ruled out for the season in late March. “I’m never going to give up, no matter how hard it gets,” said Wiseman, the No. 2 pick in the 2020 draft. The big man has been doing stationary work but hasn’t returned to contact, Anthony Slater of The Athletic tweets.
We have more from the Pacific Division:
- The Lakers are bringing in six draft prospects on Tuesday, Jovan Buha of The Athletic tweets. That group will include DeVante’ Jones (Michigan), Jeriah Horne (Tulsa), Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu (UT Arlington), Jamaree Bouyea (San Francisco), Jordan Usher (Georgia Tech) and Grant Golden (Richmond).
- Kings fans will have to wait to hear from their new head coach. A press conference to introduce Mike Brown as Sacramento’s coach, which will also include GM Monte McNair, won’t occur until the Warriors are eliminated from the playoffs or win the championship, Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee tweets.
- Until then, the Kings can take comfort in Steve Kerr‘s endorsement of his associate head coach, Kendra Andrews of ESPN tweets. “He’s an amazing coach and an amazing friend. Sacramento made a great choice,” Kerr said. “It’s a loss for us, but this is how it’s supposed to go.” Brown filled in for Kerr in Game 4 of Golden State’s playoff series against Memphis after Kerr tested positive for COVID.
Wiseman enters in a 2 years team option wish him to stay healthy BC Kuminga is already a solid option to build on
Mike Brown looked last night like the coach I remember from the Cavs and the Lakers; clueless. No answer how to get life back into a flat team. Just kind of standing, staring and hoping. Good luck Kings, doubt he’ll finish his contract there.
I don’t think last night had really much, if anything to do with Brown. Sure he can say what needs to be said. But he wasn’t launching 3’s and missing. He wasn’t turning the ball over. You also have to give Memphis a ton of credit. That lineup is really a good defensive lineup. I also think the warriors thought without Ja, it would be an easy win in the beginning of the game. But at the end, the game was won off of experience in closing the game. I don’t know that Kerr would have done any better in last nights game.
I could be confused. But, I thought the Warriors won. In your world, did the Warriors lose. What was the score in your world? I guess they lost on style points? I guess the NBA has been turned into Figure Skating.
Really ?? What makes you state that ?? He’s had a winning record almost every year. Grant you, he didn’t win a Championship, that said, for this Team, we need to FIRST get to a Playoff, before we have visions of Granduer !!
His Record speaks for itself. I think he is a Great pick. Only Time will Tell !!

Relies on already having a STAR. Mark Jackson built a winning spirit from the dregs of bottom feeders Warriors. Kings need that type of coach more than Brown.
Are you saying Fox & Sabonis are not stars ?? And I was like you, I wanted M. Jackson as Coach, but he isn’t and Brown is. Let’s at least give him a chance !!
The first thing that needs to be done is the Owner needs to stay out of everyday operations of the Team and let the Coach do his job. Second, Stop with the Coaching Carousel. It’s going to take a coach, no matter who it is, more than 2 seasons to turn this thing around.
Sabonis and fox are not stars unless you use that term very loosely.
If you think for 1 sec, that Sac will ever get WHAT you believe is a star, it isn’t going to ever happen, Period !! It’s a small market venue and untill this team can stop hiring / firing Coaches faster than most people change their underwear, then it isn’t happening anytime soon. Sabonis and Fox ARE Stars. You need to stop reaching for the moon and come down to reality.
Mark Jackson didn’t build the Warriors. It was Larry Riley who brought in the right players that made the team. His moves laid the foundation. The winning spirit was there. They just never had the right players.
Every coach needs a star player to be something of good or great. Your Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Gregg Popovich all needed a Star player to be good at what they did. Phil had Pippen/MJ and Kobe/Shaq, Riley had Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing, LJ, Wade, and others. I mean, if Mike Brown is not a great coach because he can’t do without a star player, it’s a poor argument to make. Every great coach needs a star player or two with a solid team around them to win championships. In Cleveland, he only had LJ. LA burned Brown because LJ didn’t want Brown coaching him again. Either way, I think Brown will do well with the Kings. He will get them closer to where they should be at least. If he makes it to the championship game, that’s great for himself and the Kings. It will just take some additional pieces to make that happen. Kings shouldn’t trade off everything they have, but a few moves and signings, would be great for that team. Kings should consider John Wall from Houston as a 6th man. If not him, Wood from Houston would be another option too. Those type of players with experience and can still play at the highest level, will help the Kings be a top 4 team in the Pacific Coast, if not top team. They don’t have to get Wall or Wood, but similar players would give the Kings a huge boost. At this point, Rockets may send Wall with cash to unload him. Kings could use him from the bench as the 6th man to keep scoring against opponents.
@Datashark
Coaches im sure have input but they don’t decide who to draft usually. that’s three final say of the GM. But what coach in the nba DOESN’T depend on already having a star, unless you mean coming to a team that has absolutely no one which is rare. Even then, refer to point #1.
