Veteran center and unrestricted free agent JaVale McGee said he’s interested in re-signing with the Suns this offseason, according to Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com.
“Definitely consider it, definitely consider an opportunity,” McGee said. “At this point in my career, I’m definitely focused on myself and what’s best for me and my situation and my family. I know what I bring to a team if it’s any organization that I go to. For me, that’s what it’s all about. Make sure I’m valuing myself as much as the team (is) valuing me.”
We have more from the Western Conference:
- Luka Doncic will be informed of potential roster moves via frequent contact with head coach Jason Kidd, owner Mark Cuban, GM Nico Harrison and assistant GM Michael Finley, Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News reports. Doncic will not be taking it easy this summer. He’ll start practicing with the Slovenian National Team on June 15 ahead of World Cup qualifying matches against Croatia (June 30) and Sweden (July 3). He’ll re-join the national team in August to prepare for EuroBasket, which begins Sept. 1 in Cologne, Germany.
- Doncic wants free agent Jalen Brunson to remain his backcourt partner, Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News writes. “The step – the huge leap – he took this year was unbelievable,” Doncic said. “And he’s going to deserve all the money he gets.” The Mavericks have made their desire to retain Brunson known but they also want to acquire a quality big man — a rebounder and rim-protector. “That’s no secret. We know we got beat up on the boards,” Harrison said after the conference finals.
- Zion Williamson no longer has any restrictions from his foot injury. So how will he fit in with a Pelicans team that showed vast improvement in the second half of the season? Will Guillory of The Athletic takes a closer look at that topic.
McGee is worth 1 year 10 million
Mavs can sign him $6.4 million
Suns and Mavs should pursue Capela
Hadnt even thought of Capela. I’ve been focused on Mitchell Robinson and Holmes. Capela would be a nice fit next to Luka.
Resign McGee as back up. Bring in Brooke Lopez as starter, Plays inside – outside game, Would pair well with McGee. Trade Ayton in S&T, multiple team trade. Booker needs help, needs 6th man combo guard who can create for himself and team. Help Booker, CP3 if needed, injuries, Back up Guard, Cam Payne, can be moved… Suns can even resign BISMARK B( BB) if money is available…Shandry Could be shopped, if any takers….
Mavs don’t have anything the Hawks would want
I really think Mavs are better off going after Bamba. Will come cheaper. Only 24 but still a project that can grow with Luka. Just need to move someone like Powell or Bertans to create enough space;
Brunson/Doncic/Hardaway/Finney-Smith/Bamba
w/ a bench of Dinwiddie/Bullock/Kleber/Powell would be pretty slick
Need a 2nd star for playoffs when they double Luka. Ceiling only so high with Brunson. Just lost to DUBs 4 -1. LaVine & Bamba…..Sign & trade Brunson plus, mult team trade….
Dallas can’t create space . They are projected to be at 175 mill w a Brunson resign
S&T only option for Dal
WHAT DO YOU THINK?….S&T Brunson & Bullock, kleeber to Knicks for Randle & Robinson, Walker. Picks may have to be thrown in to balance trade, Knicks may have to throw in Kid guard to balance things out. Knicks, love Brunson, need a point guard, Thibs loves Bullocks’s D, wanted him resigned, Randle lives in TX… Possibly Fournier goes to Dallas, surrounding Luka with shooting and other tweaks are made. There is a basis for trade…
Buhwahhhhh!
Luka will be informed of roster moves? Im so sick of players acting like they’re gms.
U rather they shut up & dribble huh? Them days are over, go cry about it lol
This isn’t a “shut up and dribble” situation. GM’s have to navigate a thing called the salary cap, and deal with current roster construction. It’s real easy for players to say I want this guy, I want that guy, etc. There’s a reason why more often than not pandering to your star player in this manner blows up in the team’s face, and it’s unfortunate teams feel the need to continue doing this.
Go cry about it? Grow up.
Luka is far better than Booker
Suns have Bridges and Ayton
Both are better than Brunson, Mavs 2nd best player
Uncle Paul need load management in playoffs
Luka is literal trash, only taking one against the warriors? Weak AF.
“Top 5 player is literal trash.”
Tell me you’re trolling without actually telling me
His name is “snowflake alert” you know he’s a troll
McGhee will not get more than vet Minimum. That’s what he has been paid for the past few yrs and it will not change. He’s just hoping it will be for more than 1 yr guarantee.
…but he hasn’t signed for the vet minimum since 2017…
The most LaVine can sign with the Bulls is a five-year, $212.3 million contract. The most he can sign with another team is a four-year, $157.4 million contract.
6 teams interested in Zach LaVine
Mavs, Lakers, Knicks
Hawks, Trail Blazers, Spurs
Mavs, Hawks, Knicks, make sense. Knicks need point guard as priority… who takes Fournier, walker contracts. Mavs make sense, because they have Brunson in S&T…
If Lavine gets those figures look for that team to exit every year first round.
One of these trash teams should trade as many players as they can to the lakers to get Russ for 1 year and clear out their cap. Most of them Not going anywhere anyways
Blazers plan to clear up cap space to sign one of the following players
LaVine
Ayton
Blazers would offer max to one of them.
Ayton 131 million
LaVine 157 fmillion
McGee is a guy I would want for the Bulls. He’s still athletic and a shot blocker who can rebound well. He makes the boneheaded plays but since he played with GSW, his basketball IQ is getting much better. I wouldn’t mind him.
