EuroLeague champion Anadolu Efes will be signing former NBA big man Ante Zizic on a two-year deal, with an opt-out clause after the first season, Bugra Uzar of Eurohoops.net reports. Zizic, 25, averaged 12.2 PPG and 5.0 RPG in 21 MPG over 31 games for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season.
A first-round pick in 2016, Zizic spent three seasons in the NBA with the Cavaliers from 2017-20, averaging 6.0 PPG and 3.9 RPG in 113 games (13.4 MPG).
We have more from around the basketball world:
- Lakers star LeBron James has reached a net worth of $1 billion, according to Forbes’ calculations, Chase Peterson-Withorn writes. James made $121.2MM last year, pushing him over the $1 billion mark. He’s the first active NBA player to make the billionaires list. Even Michael Jordan, the only other basketball billionaire, didn’t reach that mark until 2014, well after he retired.
- The NBA’s TV ratings for the postseason have risen significantly. There are number of reasons for the upswing, according to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, including the Warriors’ resurgence, an influx of new stars making their mark and Nielsen’s new method for collecting viewership numbers. Since September 2020, Nielsen has included out-of-home viewers as part of its tallies, including those watching at bars and restaurants.
- While many draft prospects are busy working out for NBA teams, some have dropped out and returned to school to improve their stock for the 2023 draft. Sports Illustrated’s Jeremy Woo takes a look at six players who could make a significant jump in the next year, including Iowa’s Kris Murray and Houston’s Marcus Sasser.
You’d think that unbelievable achievement by Bron would be enough for its own article but apparently not on this site
Lol click the link, no one wants to hear the intricacies of lebrons financials on this site “he made 250 million from Nike who made that money using sweat shops” very divisive and unnecessary on a transaction rumors site
This is exactly why I wanted a full article lol I know this news got yall salty asf
Sankara some of your statements and posts and replies are strange.
Who’s salty? Are you saying we are jealous of LeBron’s accomplishments?
Why would that be? Dude’s extraordinary and iconic and generous and thoughtful of others. He’s amazing, someone to look up to, and a man of Great accomplishments!!
Who’s salty? Just a strange opinion to have here.
He’s extremely sensitive. Go easy.
By the way, not everyone is interested in stuff players do outside of basketball. Let’s talk Hoops not houses, dimes not coin, and strong moves not weak movies.
Why is it unbelievable? He’s never played for the veteran minimum. He’s got a ton of endorsement deals.
@SFGiants
Because the things that push him to a billion aren’t even the salary and endorsements. He should his Spring Hill Entertainment company to an investment group including Nike, Epic Games, e.t.c for $725 mil. He’s likely the only current player to be part owner of several sports teams such as the Liverpool soccer team, Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s remarkable.
@knicks That’s why I am not surprised. He doesn’t spend his money on his ego. He keeps spending it wisely. He also has spent his money on helping others to achieve. The guy is not stupid.
Missed opportunity for the site to mention how much money the Space Jam reboot raked in. Damn. That was $162.8 million at the box office and the movie cost $150 million to make. Now, the original Space Jam movie made $250.2 million at the box office while it only cost $80 million to make. But that was 1996 so we need to adjust for inflation. When adjusted for inflation, the original Space Jam actually raked in almost $461 million at the box office while the cost to make the movie would have been about $147.5 million. That’s all to say that Michael Jordan was the better player historically after all. Makes you think…
People think Lebron is Mike he is not liked as much. Never will be! He will always have money. He was smart with his money. But if you could pick a door to meet Mike or Lebron. Mike would win 3 to 1 if not more.
@Spike
I bet LBJs teammates like him more than MJ. As for fans, I’m sure they each have their own loyal fans. That’s why lbj sells shoes so well. it’s a generational thing.
Agreed. Jordan doesn’t have his own imprint at Nike still. Good point on the shoes.
Honestly, he’d be dumb as hell if he didn’t Tom Brady his next contract/ext
Im guessing he won’t
