A player who has a non-guaranteed salary for a given season will, by default, receive his full guarantee if he remains under contract through January 7 of that league year. Because the league-wide salary guarantee date is January 10, a player must clear waivers before that date if a team wants to avoid being on the hook for his full salary.
However, a handful of players who have non-guaranteed or partially guaranteed contracts for 2022/23 have earlier trigger dates. Those players will receive either their full guarantees or an increased partial guarantee on certain dates before January 7, assuming they’re not waived.
These dates are fairly malleable — if a player and team reach an agreement, a salary guarantee deadline can be pushed back.
For example, if a player’s contract calls for him to receive his full guarantee on June 28, his team could ask him to move that date to the first or second week of July to get a better sense of what will happen in free agency before making a final decision. The player doesn’t have to agree, but it could be in his best interest to push back his guarantee date rather than simply being waived.
Those agreements between a player and team aren’t always reported right away, so our list of early salary guarantee dates is a tentative one. When a player’s salary guarantee date passes, our assumption is that he received his guarantee, but it’s possible he and his team negotiated a new guarantee date that simply hasn’t been made public yet. We’ll update the info below as necessary in the coming weeks and months.

I got Indy & Detroit swapping their 5 & 6 picks, with Detroit getting a couple of future 2nds in the deal. Plus i got Detroit trading Jerami Grant to Portland for Bledsoe & the #7 pick. Finally I have Phoenix trading a future 1st to SA for the #25 pick
Your mock really goes for it! I like your swaps and the Cavs getting Branham. O.Robinson going that high and Sharpe that low, your call.
Bulls would find it hard to resist a 4 like Sochan or Eason… but they are not really the GM’s type and Ogbaji is, and is value.
Yea tbh I was basing Chicago’s pick on the assumption that Zach would be elsewhere next season. If they resign him I think they should try to package Vooch, Pat Williams & Coby in a deal for Gobert & Jared Butler. In that scenario they’d definitely take Sochan, Eason, KBrown or some other big, athletic wing to replace Williams… Sharpe has obvious talent but is so unproven compared to guys like Dyson, JDavis, Branham, etc. I could see OKC going for Sharpe at 12 but they already have so many young guards & could def use a talented true 5 like Robinson. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Robinson ends up as the best 5 from this class. That includes Chet, Duren, Mark Williams & anybody else. His potential isn’t as high as Chet or Duren but as far as being an above average starter level 5 for the next 10yrs he seems like the surest bet in the draft. No glaring weaknesses in his game
Rockets are not taking Mathurin that high in a million years
Orlando Robinson isn’t going in the first round much less the lottery
Jaden hardy is gonna fall to late 1st round
Jeremy Sochan isn’t falling that far
Christin koloko isn’t going 1st round
Jovic isn’t falling, spurs will take him 20
Why wouldn’t Houston take Mathurin at 3?.. lol what makes you think Robinson isn’t a 1st rider? Feel free to give reasons for any of your declarations if possible..
i dont think houston could possibly pass on Chet and I also don’t think Orlando doesn’t have as high of a ceiling as the other players in the draft
Houston already has a guy very similar to Chet in Christian Wood. Wood is currently the best player on the team, chose to be there, is in his prime for the next 5+ yrs & has made it clear that he still wants to be there. His backup (Sengun) is 1 of the most promising young bigs in the game who they gave up significant assets up for so they could draft him 1st rd last season. The 1 thing they need down low is toughness/rebounding/strength/a vet. They’re not really hurting for talent down low. Where they could use an infusion of young talent, especially a scorer, is on the wing. They have a bunch of bouncy, nasty, athletic, defensive minded wings but nobody like Mathurin. Mathurin fits extremely well in Houston’s lineup, much better than Chet imo… Orlando Robinson projects to be a perennial all-star to me. He’s a more athletic, better defensively, better shooting version of Vucevic at the same age. He’s much more skilled than any of the other 5s in the draft except Chet. He has great size, good length & he’s more ready to contribute immediately than most other bigs too. SA & NYK should heavily consider grabbing him even before OKC’s pick. But if he’s there at 12 I def grab him if I’m Presti. Adding Jabari & Orlando Robinson to that team would give them a ridiculous amount of young talent comparable to when they had KD/Russ/Harden/Ibaka/JGreen/EMaynor a decade ago
