Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon may have a new team by draft night, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (video link from The Trade Deadline).
Wojnarowski calls Brogdon “likely” to be traded this week, citing the Knicks and Wizards as teams to watch. New York, which holds the 11th pick, and Washington at No. 10 are both in the market for point guards and are hoping to move up in the draft.
Wojnarowski suggests both teams are making an effort to acquire the No. 4 pick from the Kings to select Jaden Ivey, who is the top-rated guard in the draft. Woj says Brogdon will become an alternative if they’re unsuccessful, adding, “especially Washington as they look to sign Bradley Beal.”
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony also hints at a Brogdon trade in his latest mock draft, stating that “many around the league” expect the Pacers to work out a deal with the Knicks.
A move involving Brogdon has been considered possible since Indiana acquired Tyrese Haliburton from Sacramento in February. Brogdon, 29, has dealt with injuries throughout his career and played just 36 games this season, averaging 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists per night. He has three years and $67.6MM remaining on his contract.
Trading with either the Knicks or Wizards would give the Pacers two lottery picks and may increase speculation that center Myles Turner could be on the move as part of a full-scale rebuild. Wojnarowski doesn’t expect anything to happen right away with Turner, suggesting that trade talks might continue “into the summer.”
I question the health but he be a good player for the lakers
Yeah, why not add another guy who will miss half the season. Definitely the key to a Lakers championship.
I like the idea of Westbrook for Brogdon and Hield deal.
Pacers are seeking for lottery pick for Brogdon.

Yes Silli we read the article.
Use quote marks fibber. You can’t write sentences properly like that.
Sillivan, we talked about this. No more Westbrook trade talk until the trade deadline halfway through next season. It’s not happening until then at the earliest.
The reason of course I say that for others who don’t see it is because the Lakers #1 have vowed to NOT include draft compensation in a deal to dump Westbrook.
Secondly I think at the deadline there could be a team that has a couple of guys on multi-year deals and it’s just not working out, they might flip for Westbrook’s expiring deal. Lakers might go for that if they’re rolling.
But in training camp and the start of the season every team that has an eye on the playoffs is confident of their lineup. They won’t cut bait and bring in Westbrook the dump a couple of guys that aren’t working out as planned.
No more Westbrook trade talk until 30 days before the 2023 trade deadline. That means you Sillivan :)
Lol @ laker fans who think they are getting solid players in return for westbrick
In what world does Brogdon only have 1 year left on his deal? He just signed an extension last year, did he not?
Yeah, try three years.
I wonder if mavs would perfer him over thj
Thj Powell and Josh Green for turner and brogan. Carlise loves Powell and Tim hardaway
Why on Earth would the Pacers entertain that offer?
So many of these comments are delusional lol
No, Brogdon has two years left on his deal after this one because he signed an extension with Indy last fall.
I dont get why Indiana is always trying to trade guys like Turner and Brogdon, who are really good modern NBA players…
I didnt like a lot of what they did with their rotation last year, with certain guys sitting a lot and lineups with not much synergy, after I liked a lot of their offseason moves…
I think they should just add the draft pick and add a couple of pieces and see how that looks before moving players like this, unless you get a really strong deal
Huge mistake for either the Knicks or the Wizards to put any eggs in this particular basket. Yes he’s a tremendous player and when he’s on the court he’s fantastic but wow, he is going to get nicked up and not play. You cannot count on this guy’s health or even to be in the lineup consistently.
Agreed. Few players are as consistently injured as Brogdon. It’s one thing for a contender to roll the dice on the guy, but a rebuilding team, even if it wants a veteran PG, should get someone more durable. All about what they trade of course, but I don’t see IND doing a salary dump.
Would love him on the Knicks, but likely wouldn’t touch him based on the fact that he has played 64 games or less in each season since 2017-18.
Not a fit for the Sixers with Maxey and Harden. Too expensive for a 6th man in a Tobias trade with no SF or PF coming back as well.
Could be a fit for the Wolves for #19, Beasley, and Bolmaro.
Could be a fit for the Wiz for KCP Ish and a future lottery protected 1st.
Spurs could look at a similar trade as the Wiz.
Lakers obviously in a Brick trade.
Rockets could do a trade but they want to tank.
If he’s on the court he’s a solid player. It’s just an IF.
I’d like to see Turner go north to the raptors.. maybe a 3 way trade with Portland? Raps get Turner, Portland gets O.G. and indy gets portlands first round pick…I know more pieces need to be added to make it work but that seems like a pretty good start to me
TOR would need Portlands FRP with Turner to make ot work for them. OGs a beast on a sweetheart deal.
Brogdon to Boston for White, Gary Williams, one 1st and one 2nd.
Seems like a lot. Celtics traded their 1st round pick this year for White. That’s essentially 2 first round picks plus more for Brogdon.
Haliburton and Ivey. What could’ve been in Sacramento
A little taller version of what they have now in Fox and Mitchell? Oh what could’ve been!
What’s this strange attraction people have for Halliburton? He’s a nice player but nothing special.
Malcom Brogdan and the 6th pick for Julius Randle and the 11th pick.
Tyrese Randle Turner and whoever they select in the draft.
Tyrese played with Fox and can share the ball. Randle provides another playmaker for the offence. Having two big men which can shoot the three ball is also a huge threat a lot of other teams don’t have.
Moving down 5 places at the start of the draft takes a hit but it’s the price you have to pay cause of the difference in level between Brogdon and Randle. Plus at 6, you were looking at AJ Griffin, Benedict Mathurin, Shaedon Sharpe, Dyson Daniels, Keegan Murray. Now with Randle on board your probably only looking at wings and you’ll likely have a chance at the likes of Shaedon Sharpe, Aj Griffin, Malakai Branham, Jalen Williams, etc. I don’t think the fall off from 6-11 is that large in terms of wing players. Any of those 4 would be a good selection for the Pacers and make the team better.
Maybe the Pacers would argue they want back a second round pick but if I’m the Knicks I’d happily give that up aswell.
I think Brogdon would be a great addition and getting rid of Randle is a positive too. Then moving up in the draft a huge bonuses aswell.
I rather just sign Oladipo. He’s a FA so we don’t have to give up anything.
No no no to Brogdon trade. Unless it involves Turner…….
They are getting 10 or 11 for Injured PG, Indy may get a pick in the 25-30 range at best.
Brogdon has only played 70 or more games once. 60 or more games twice. Don’t know if he’s really a point or a 2.
