Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who injured his left foot in Wednesday’s Game 3 loss to the Celtics, went through shootaround on Friday and is feeling good, head coach Steve Kerr told reporters, including ESPN’s Kendra Andrews (Twitter link).
Curry, who had been listed as probable on the injury report for Game 4, will play on Friday and won’t be under any kind of minutes restriction, according to Andrews.
Curry came up limping with about four minutes left in the fourth quarter of Game 3 after Al Horford rolled onto his left leg while the two players battled for a loose ball. The two-time MVP was walking with a limp after the game and compared the injury to the left foot strain that cost him the final 12 games of the regular season, but said it was “not as bad” this time around.
With 31.3 points per game on .485/.486/.833 shooting through the first three games of the NBA Finals, Curry will have to play a key role if the Warriors hope to erase their 2-1 deficit and win their fourth championship in the last eight years.
Andre Iguodala (right knee inflammation) and Otto Porter Jr. (left foot soreness) are listed as questionable to play in Friday’s contest.
Team USA gets Team Mexico later today in the FIBA Americas U18 quarterfinals. This is an electric team full of future nba all-stars, you should def check em out if u claim to fw basketball. Cam Whitmore (incoming Villanova frosh) & Ty Rodgers (incoming Illinois frosh) got real froggy on Team PR in their last gm.. link to m.youtube.com
Philosophizing. It’s not a biggie, but we are not reverting back to ten-year-olds wrestling our brother on a carpet, trying WWE moves to score oomph points and make Timmy say “uncle”.. Or are we?— I think BB is a vertical sport, wrestling not.
Judgements have to be made when refs get called to the replay monitors. Thresholds get more formalized and cleaner then. Should refs adjust their whistling to match those replay standards?— that’s the way things work out in time… judges do not like being reversed.
Hopefully he will be at 100%. So disrespectful of Al clapping and smiling while hearing Curry scream out in pain to hug Smart. Video shows him doing that so don’t pretend like he cared. if you hear somebody scream out in pain that you caused you would go and see if the person is OK.
Shake it off drama queen Curry. Him and Klay have been such babies this series, just play basketball please.
Curry has been the best player on court first 3 games, not even close.
This means Celtics have been a much better team, not even close.
means Celtics getting more out of their players. Fixed it for you.
Was that supposed to be insulting? I agree with you.
I wasn’t even trolling the first dude. I totally agree. Curry IS the best player. Hasn’t mattered much.
The series comes down to adjustments. Kerr made a mistake by not playing Looney enough last game. Warriors need Looney on the floor for offensive rebounds where Celtics killed the Warriors on the boards. Kerr is too much in love with Poole. His defense is a negative and should only be used when they need a offense push.
Kevin ‘moving screen’ Looney
Seems wrong.
This aged well, eh?
How has Curry’s defense been?
Oh yeah, basketball is played on both ends.
Jaylen Brown has been the best player so far. He actually guards people.
Brown needs to be called for fouls when he holds onto players. He is always using his free hand on a player shoulder. They need to call that. Curry defense has not been bad but Pooles defense is so bad that Celtics do what they should do and attack him when he is on the floor.
Brown makes turnovers; is third-best at best for Celtics.
Curry’s defense has been excellent, a the announcers have pointed out multiple times. And he’s way better than Brown so far in this series.
He’s the only superstar in the Finals … If Dubs win the Finals i won’t be mad if Curry does the show
You can be a baby and the best player on the court at the same time.
Sure like celtic fans are great fans instead of many trolls. Tatum arm was pulled down by Green was a Celtic claim. You dont even hide you Celtic bias.
What’s your thoughts on punching another player in the nuts Arc ?
Green should have been suspended immediately for that. Should have been a flagrant 2. First time he could have claimed a accident but second time flagrant 2.
Wow you are silent when I showed you I am not bias. i guess you thought I was going to defend Green but he was wrong and should have been kicked out and suspended.
Only thing worrying about Warriors is Draymond. He has had subpar postseason so far for some reason. He’s not getting his normal assists, rebounds, or game impact he usually makes. And, he’s gettng fouled out way too often. Worstly, he still spends too much energy taunting the other team instead of focusing on his game. I fear he is a time bomb who can get ejected at any time. Very disappointing who simply craves attention…. IF Draymond is able to focus and bring his A game, Warriors will win tonight and win in 7 games.
He should stop with the pod cast. Just hope he doesn’t do the opposite and play over aggressive and get kicked out. He should know he has a target on his back. Williams tried last game to get a T on him and will try again.
Lol this gotta be the same guy on different accounts
Gotta hope so.
Note when is flopping he’s trying to tackle opponents legs/ankles everytime… Bad Bad Draymond
Dray does not get enough help and is frustrated.
Past GSW versions may have been known for the splash brothers but they had inside guys who played. They could out-physical the Cavs in the finals… Maybe not that a huge challenge, but Cavs would have expected more success on that front.
Teams have been trying to play 3s at the 4 because it makes a team faster and wins the matchups. But Wiggins is not big or tough enough for that against size like Boston’s.
Mavs or Grizz or much of the WC, okay.
Curry does not get help, Dray is just a podcast bafoon … Kerr already tried to cool him down by getting Bjelica some of his minutes, maybe Kuminga can help on D more but is not reliable on the off side …
Dray’s the same, the podcasting has not changed him… Just giving some posters some grist.
I don’t want to hear a single thing about the referees. That pick foul on Looney against Jaylen Brown was the worst. Looney was still. Bad call Jaylen Brown flop.
Then everyone saying only Green is dirty? Tatum just drove to the hole throwing his elbow into the face of Andrew Wiggins.
I don’t want to hear anything about the Warriors are, or Green is, dirty and the Celtics are clean. Enough talk like that.
Don’t give me a single word about the referees either. Enough.
PS, don’t you love my intensity? If the Warriors lose tonight it’s all over. Must win !!
tatum should have been on the bench with 5 fouls. He had so many fouls not called on him was a joke.
You know what, watching the game objectively I thought the refs did a decent job. A couple of those Klay Thompson bump fouls and other Derrick White Stuff were good calls.
The entire game really was decent and fair both ways. Sure some calls were head-scratchers but I think both teams were hit with those.
But the flopping is something else. Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum flop quite a bit.., it really is noticeable. And I think I’m objective in saying that. A Celtic fan might not agree and that’s okay.
Can’t wait for game 5 in San Francisco Monday. Let’s go !!!!
Maybe it is a good thing Tatum was not called for those 2 obvious fouls early in 4th quarter. If he was called for those fouls they would have benched him and a player that could have made some clutch shots comes in. maybe we can call that karma for him not being called for thos efouls.
And the refs didn’t review the elbow to the face. But they call a foul on every single Celtics flop.
Is it too much to ask for Andrew Wiggins to show up tonight and earn his 30 million dollars? Seriously the defense is nice and kind of holding Tatum to 20-plus points is just terrific.
But how about a 35-point game himself once in a while? Let’s go young fella.. make it happen tonight. Your team needs you.
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been talking about for three years with Andrew Wiggins.
It’s a must-win playoff game in the finals for the NBA championship and he dribbles against his man and falls down and dribbles it off his foot. 30 million bucks for that? My goodness.
This is exactly what I was saying for three years. I’ve held my tongue this year and he’s been an All-Star and been a nice 4th option but in the playoffs for 30 million dollars I need a better player than this.
He’s still playing much much better than Klay or Green today! Frankly, Kerr should have had guts to start Poole ahead of Klay in 2nd half.
That man is worth every dime of his 50 million dollars. Warriors in 6 ish
7 games and only because Warriors have Curry and Celtics dont. It does help to play at Chase and Warriors have Championships resilience too!
This headline is somewhat funny in retrospect. He did play ‘without restrictions’, especially any caused by the Celtics.
