The Mavericks plan to retain Frank Ntilikina beyond Monday, fully guaranteeing him the $2MM he’s owed in 2022/23, according to veteran NBA reporter Marc Stein (via Twitter).
Ntilikina, who has a July 4 guarantee date on his contract, appeared in 58 games last season, averaging 4.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.5 steals in 11.8 minutes. Ntilikina continues to intrigue teams because of his defense. Offensively, he hasn’t shot over 40% in any of his five NBA seasons.
Dallas is gearing up for another playoff run next year. The team traded for star big man Christian Wood this offseason, pairing Luka Doncic with a frontcourt presence to compete in the West.
Big man Maxi Kleber will also see his salary for 2022/23 ($9MM) become guaranteed, as Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News tweets. Kleber’s contract included a July 3 salary guarantee date.
So where are all the Frank doesn’t belong in the NBA haters. Failure is a term to describe your thoughts. Anyone who gets to play a kids game. Is nowhere near a failure. Why the hate. It only shows more about you than the player.
Frank still got upside. And can still go for it.
Enjoy it !!!!!!! watching.
Just quit bro. Yall should’ve drafted Mitchell. There’s nothing Knicks fans can say to make up for that stupidity.
Is that what this is. I think you need to catch up.
You know who you are out there. It’s only about a player who is still hanging. Just a reminder. That’s all lols
@Knick
Because they wasted a #8 puck on a guy that didn’t contribute anywhere near the level you would expect. They also passed on 4 other guys that became good contributors to other teams. However, the Knicks weren’t alone. Most mock drafts had him going mid to late lottery. I mean that had Fultz at #1. They all were wrong. Accept it and move on.
Ay aaale go read and catch up.
If I have to explain my post. You probably shouldn’t be responding to it. You got enough medication lol.
We’re all right here, laughing at Dallas for signing Frank. Kevin Knox is abysmal, yet he managed a two year, $6 million deal. Frank gets less than that for one season to fill up the far end of Dallas’s bench and you’re celebrating like he made the All-Star Team. Hilarious.
Frank should be playing in the G League or overseas if he wants to develop, but good for him in securing some money.
Frank is still only 23.
Is he a bust #8 pick. Yes, that’s long been established. I don’t see a need to trash a 20-22 yr old. Cause he didn’t live up our expectations. His D alone will keep him in NBA. Have always said that. But Knick FO did this kid wrong. He was a Phil pick. So they all wanted to kill Frank. Not easy for a young man. Especially one from another nation. He’s not done yet . Is all I’m saying.
I like Andre nikatina
Whew! That was a close one! Dallas almost list 2 guards this off season…

Good informing words from coach JVG. Best players always improve, every yr. Totally
This from a guy still trying to prove picking Nkitina wasn’t a mistake.
Why is it you all need to speak for me.
I’ve explained Frank in detail. You’ve been here long enough to know that. I doubt any of you know his story. But you need to make this about me. IDGAF about Frank. But his case can ge explained. There are posters here who think they know ball.
Think they know BALL m, like you.
That called Frank a total waste. As someone who doesn’t even belong in NBA. All I’ve said was give him till 25-26 before you kick him out the NBA. And he’s still playing. Statement time ……
The title of this article should be “Former Knick great Frank Ntilikina gets veteran minimum guarantee from Mavs”.
The Knicks never really got to run the Knicks. You draft him, bring Jared, Mudiay and Burke. Once Jackson was fired it was over for Frank. Hornechek, Fizdale, Miller, and Tibbs with Miller being the best coach for Frank. Hoping with Kidd and staff Frank gets the time to prove he’s a keeper.
