The 2022/23 NBA regular season will tip off next month, so it’s time to start getting serious about predictions for the upcoming campaign and to continue an annual Hoops Rumors tradition.
With the help of the lines from a handful of sports betting sites – including Bovada, BetOnline, and Betway – we’re running through the predicted win totals for each of the NBA’s 30 teams, by division. In a series of team-by-team polls, you’ll get the chance to weigh in on whether you think those forecasts are too optimistic or too pessimistic.
In 2021/22, our voters went 16-14 on their over/under picks. Can you top that in ’22/23?
We’ll keep our series going today with the Atlantic division…

Which of these Atlantic Div trios would you choose as the core of your team for the next 5yrs, Michael Ray Richardson/Otis Birdsong/Buck Williams (1984 Nets), DeMar Derozan/Norman Powell/Jonas Valanciunas (2017 Raps), Kenny Anderson/Paul Pierce/Antoine Walker (2002 Cs), Jrue Holiday/Evan Turner/Thad Young (2013 76ers) or Wilson Chandler/Danilo Gallinari/David Lee (2010 Knicks)?.. Rank a top3 if possible..
waiting for @Shai For MVP to reply
here’s some attention bro
Luke: Didn’t the Knicks also ‘lose’ Luke Samanic? Or is he still a cap hold?
He was waived in March, so he wasn’t an offseason loss (I’ve also only been including players on standard contracts in these posts, not two-ways).
Ok got it!
Sank: I tell ya those are some ‘good options’. I think the Kenny Anderson/Paul Pierce/Antoine Walker (2002 Cs) combo is pretty good. They have passing, dribbke penetration, rebounding, basketball iq, last-3min-of-the-game scoring. Plus great free throw shooters,
Big facts. They were the engine behind the best Cs team bw the Bird era & the Big3 era. Kidd sliced em up but everything u said is extremely true. Paul Pierce’s performance in this 2nd rd series vs Detroit is a huge reason they drafted Tayshaun a couple months later… link to m.youtube.com
The ray Richardson/combo not too shabby either
Not at all. All 3 of those guys are HOF caliber guys. This is them eliminating the defending champs on their home floor… link to m.youtube.com
Nice! Good work Sank!
I have
Nets 58 wins
Celtics 56
76ers 56
Raptors 50
Knicks 35
That Sixers line seems like a bet the over all day long.
Not a Sixer fan but they def deserve more respect than they’re getting.
Always, they get no respect. Embid plays with his face broken and thumb hanging off but hes soft. Stars want to play for doc but he’s over rated. Simmons quits on his team but its the teams fault. This Sixers team is deep and talented and experienced.
I expect the Knicks to make another move or two. So they are definitely playing over .500 ball. This is too easy.
Celtics can win the East over 55.
Sixers have added depth. Harden is in a must show yr. They could still move Tobias over 51.
Nets the dysfunctional team of the NBA. I doubt they win 50. They could implode and trade their stars. Under 50.
Raptors a year older. Should be a healthy year. This is a hard one. They will be right around 45-47 gms.
Knicks will make another trade. Brunson and RJ is a solid backcourt. Only question is Randle. I don’t see them letting him ruin this yr. Easy a .500 team.
Interesting there is such wide gaps. I actually think the Celtics can handle the Gallo loss and 55+ is doable. Also i am not confident on the 76ers being a 50 win team. Last year it was Dame and Russ showing their age. Embiid gets hurt often and Harden and Tucker are pushin the wrong side of 40. Also I don’t think the Knicks made any serious moves and am not sure they are in the playoffs but they turned Burks/Walker and Noel into Brunson and Hartenstein. Idk how that doesn’t add 4 wins and be in the playin convo
