The 2022/23 NBA regular season will tip off next month, so we’re getting serious about predictions for the upcoming campaign and continuing an annual Hoops Rumors tradition.
With the help of the lines from a handful of sports betting sites – including Bovada, BetOnline, and Betway – we’re running through the predicted win totals for each of the NBA’s 30 teams, by division. In a series of team-by-team polls, you’ll get the chance to weigh in on whether you think those forecasts are too optimistic or too pessimistic.
In 2021/22, our voters went 16-14 on their over/under picks. Can you top that in ’22/23?
We’ll wrap up our series today with the Northwest division…

I’d say thunder would be over but i’m 95% sure shai is gonna request a trade
Wrong again lol
Your opinion then – neither of us are right yet though as we don’t know for sure if he will or not. But Shai imo is gonna grow to be an MVP calliber player and I just have a feeling he’s not gonna want to stay for this rebuild.
Thunder made it very clear after they lost to Houston in the playoffs 2yrs ago that they were headed for a rebuild. If he was gonna ask for a trade he woulda done it then. Not after going thru 2+ yrs of the rebuild & right as they’re primed to become competitive again. Shai signed a huge deal to stay in OKC. He’s gonna be there for the foreseeable future.
Which of these NW Div trios would you rather build your team around, Ricky Rubio/Corey Brewer/Kevin Love (Min 2014), M. Abdul-Rauf/Reggie Williams/Dikembe Mutombo (Den 1994), Josh Giddey/Ousmane Dieng/Darius Bazley (OKC 2023), Deron Williams/Ronnie Brewer/Mehmet Okur (Utah 2008) or Damon Stoudamire/JR Rider/Arvydas Sabonis (Por 1999)?… Rank a top3 if possible
por, min, den, okc, utah.
Who predicted this?
The scariest thing is that Lakers are 13 wins better than last season
Nuggets are only 4 wins better
Lakers are in the toughest division with Suns, Clippers and Warriors
NORTHWEST DIVISION ????
Neither
DENVER
MINNESOTA
UTAH
OKLAHOMA CITY
are physically located in the NORTHWEST !!
Just like, GEOGRAPHICALLY:
CLEVELAND IS NOT CENTRAL
WASHINGTON DC IS NOT SOUTHEAST
PHOENIX IS NOT PACIFIC
MEMPHIS IS NOT SOUTHWEST
chill
You love pointing things out that they’re not. We should change every team name to the Jazz. Lol
Just teasing. The divisions had to change more than once because of expansion and teams relocating. They may have made more sense years ago. =)
Denver and Minnesota, if healthy, are probably over. Utah, unless Sexton becomes Allen Iverson, are almost definitely under.
Toughest ones are PDX and OKC. OKC just bc 22.5 is SO low – they’ll really need to be extremely competent and being incompetent.
Portland is an interesting one – I’m not a huge fan of their “instant rebuild” but if Dame comes back 100% and Simons continues to develop they could be a mid-40s win team easily.
