After being released from his two-way contract with the Sixers earlier this week, young point guard Saben Lee has re-joined the Raptors‘ NBA G League affiliate, the Raptors 905, writes Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link).
Lee initially joined the 905 in October before latching on with Philadelphia in late November on that two-way deal.
The 23-year-old was initially selected with the No. 38 pick out of Vanderbilt in the 2020 draft. He spent his first two NBA seasons with the Pistons, averaging 5.6 PPG across 85 games. This season, he has appeared in 15 NBAGL games between the Sixers’ G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, and the Raptors 905, averaging 23.3 PPG, 6.4 APG and 4.7 RPG.
There’s more out of the Atlantic Division:
- With Lakers forward LeBron James recently voicing his concerns about being able to compete with his current team during the twilight of his career, Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice wonders if the Sixers could work as a potential trade landing spot for the 18-time All-Star this summer. James, who just inked an extension prior to the start of this season, cannot be moved until the start of the 2023 offseason. Next summer, Neubeck notes, the Sixers could potentially trade the expiring contract of starting small forward Tobias Harris along with explosive young guard Tyrese Maxey, plus some future draft compensation, to L.A. in exchange for James.
- Maxey, who has been sidelined with a fractured foot since November 18, practiced with the Sixers on Thursday, according to Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer, a positive sign that he’ll be back in action this weekend. The possibility of a potential Friday return against the Pelicans in New Orleans was recently floated, and he has been officially listed as probable to suit up for that game, Mizell reports (Twitter link).
- Young Knicks guard Quentin Grimes continues to develop as a potent 3-and-D option for New York, writes Fred Katz of The Athletic. Grimes has been performing well since been promoted to a starting role for his team last month. “It’s not an easy chore to take the best perimeter player every game,” head coach Tom Thibodeau said of Grimes. “Sometimes, you can do it great, and they still can score. But he’s got the right mindset for it.”
Lebron’s head wouldn’t fit in the arena at Philly. Can’t believe the ego on that team fits now.
It’d be a horrible financial decision to trade Lebron. Lakers may not be in the playoffs but they are probably worth 6/7 billion with him there if the suns just sold for 4. If not closer to 10..
Bron on the Sixers hahaha
Milton Harden Bron Tucker Embiid
Shake Thybulle House Niang Howard
Bring back Dwight!!!
I mean I wouldn’t hate it but the following offseason both Bron and Harden would be off contract which would be a worry. Means if they don’t return we could have 80mil or so to throw around which both could be a good thing or bad thing.
Idk i think the lakers won’t make a huge Russ trade and if they do something it’ll be using Pat Bev and Kendrick Nunn. That way Bron can use Russ’s money to bring in guys in FA. Draymond Green will likely opt out and be available. There’s also Kyrie, KLove, Dlo and Myles Turner to name a few.
Think it’s more likely they ship AD to Chicago, get DD and Pat Will. Great deal for the Bulls. Then use the Russ money to get Kyrie and Green. Green will take less having won rings already he will want to play with Bron and be in LA. Kyrie will be the harder player to convince and if it not him Dlo could return, Schroder could return, potentially even Russ return,
Line up something like, Kyrie DD Bron Green and a vet min centre like Tristan Thompson.
Bench Christie Melo Pat Will and a couple other guys that Bron wants.
Few years too late tbh. LeBron is great, do I want to give up Maxey for him? Not sure. Father time never loses, and hes catching up w LBJ in the injury column.
Would be intriguing tho.
Why would Philly want Bron. And why would he want to go there. It’s nonsense.
Grimes had a bad gm tonight. In a loss to Spurs. Back to .500 for Knicks.
Randle had 41 pts. Trade him now
Was at the game. Randle scored but continues to make poor decisions while on the court, not to mention his over complaining. Loving Grimes’ game – the kid is a keeper, and McBride is fun to watch.
The loss tonight can blamed on Thibs. He didn’t rotate players well enough and left them out there when their tank was empty, plus keeping them on the bench for too long of a period when they could’ve come back on and stopped the bleeding. It’s time the Knicks fire him and let someone else take a crack at it for the rest of this year.
Reddish, Fournier and Rose for Westbrook, then buy him out and send him on his way. Move Randle to a team that can use a big, and someone like Miami may just be the place where he’s sandwiched in between solid defensive players. Charlotte or Portland could be landing spots if the deal is just right.
It won’t be easy to move Randle. Frankly I’m not sure FO would move him now. But we don’t need Westbrook. Thibs is fine. His young guys are learning to win gms, close out. Just some growing pains.
Definitely don’t need Westbrook, thus the buyout. But it does get Fournier off the books.
Free Thibs
You need 22 Mavs 1st to move Randle …
Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey & future draft compensation? For James? Why? I’m not gonna say the 76’ers are smarter than this, but aren’t they? Tobias Harris is 2x better than James on defense. That alone is compensation.
