Stephen Curry‘s return could be imminent. Curry participated in Monday’s practice and scrimmages, according to ESPN’s Kendra Andrews, and he’s listed as questionable to play against Phoenix on Tuesday. Curry hasn’t played since Dec. 14 due to a shoulder injury.
Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins were also full participants while Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and JaMychal Green sat out.
Kevon Looney, Draymond Green, Donte DiVincenzo and Jordan Poole did not participate in the scrimmages because they’ve played heavy minutes in recent games (Twitter links here).
We have more on the Warriors:
- Wiggins missed 15 games due to an adductor strain and illness. In his return against Orlando on Saturday, he scored 12 points in 19 minutes but shot just 4-for-12 from the field. He told The Athletic’s Anthony Slater that he’ll need some time to regain his best form. “It just felt a little rusty out there just trying to get my feet right, get back in rhythm,” Wiggins said. “But I know it’s going to take a little time.”
- Andre Iguodala made his season debut in the same game and also needs to scrape off some rust. He wasn’t much of a factor in 12 minutes. However, Iguodala isn’t a crucial rotation piece like Wiggins, Slater notes in the same piece.
- The trade deadline is a month away, followed by the buyout market. The Warriors, who have an open roster spot, need to add another piece, Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic opines. What do they need the most? In Thompson’s estimation, an athletic big would be ideal. They could also pursue a wing capable of stressing defenses off the dribble.
Iguodola is still playing???
Barely. They wanted him for one more veteran run this year.
He can coach/teach the kids and then provide a veteran at defensive wing for spot duty in the playoffs when necessary.
Plus a little loyalty for everything he’s provided to the team the last half decade.
Iggy the master of the 1-1-1-1-1 line
In 12 mins… check who he is defending stats for the 12. That’s why he is their. Also mentoring
the haters dont understand the strategy involved regarding iggy, giant. save your breath….dubs are becoming whole again. bench is defined
Iggy is about one bunion away from being Udonis Haslem.
Their luck and run is over. Weak overall NBA last year. Their recent drafting is just lol. They are still riding the cap spike and good fortune of Durant being a little baby and squading up with them.
Enjoy the return to irrelevance and paying Poole and Wiggins lol. When your HOF defender can just nut kick guys and outside of a now toast Klay and soon to be toast Curry all they can do is just spend spend spend to stay afloat.
Oh lookie here, a troll. Are you enjoying being hateful? Of course you are. You have nothing better to do.
free rent‼️. they can sink into oblivion forever……but they still have the jewelry! no further questions, your honor!
NullArmstrong, any team can spend. Good luck having the know how to navigate the cap and acquire Talent like Bob myers.
That’s besides having an owner willing to invest in the team. Most owners use team Revenue to live on and support their lifestyle. Joe Lacob has other businesses for that and pours into the Warriors the money generated by The Warriors.
As far as your other comments like weak NBA last year, well then anyone could have won the championship. Warriors happened to win and of course it’s another ring added to the collection.
The cap spike? Yes it netted Durant but he could have went anywhere. He was a free agent was he not? Not every team is a destination though.
And if not for Bob Myers the Warriors would still have D’Angelo Russell lol. Well that and the poor decision making by the Timberwolves which continues to this day lol.
Yes sure they’re getting older but these last 8 years have been amazing. I’ll take it after 30 years of crap. It’s up to Meyers to work his magic and put together a roster in the next five that can compete again.
Will it happen, who knows? I don’t understand the hate for accomplishment though. Should be applauded shouldn’t it?
Remember when the idea was thrown out…Kuminga, Moody and Wiseman for Kevin Durant and everyone was like “no way! I’d never give those three and their futures up for him.”
Are you saying if you were the Warriors you would make that trade?
Even seeing that these guys need development I don’t think I would do it. Seriously how many guys come out of the NBA draft and are studs their first or second year? A couple? Seems like their fifth year there are Bonafide studs if they ever will be.
The Warriors can win as constructed now and these three young guys are NBA starters potentially and will definitely get better than what you see today that’s for sure.
