Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks has been fined $35K by the NBA, the league announced today in a press release (Twitter link).
According to the NBA’s release, the fine was a result of the “unsportsmanlike act of shoving a camera person on the sideline after pursuing a loose ball.”
The incident in question occurred with 2:40 left in the second quarter of the Grizzlies’ loss in Miami on Wednesday. Brooks was attempting to get to the ball before it bounced out of bounds near midcourt and fell into a camera person. In the process, he appeared to extend his left arm and push the camera person to the ground (video link).
This isn’t the first time Brooks has heard from the NBA this season. He was suspended for one game in February following an on-court altercation with Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell. Brooks was also the first player to accumulate 16 technical fouls, resulting in a one-game suspension earlier this month.
Brooks is earning $11.4MM in the final year of his current contract, so the $35K fine represents about 0.3% of his salary.
This guys a certified loser
I can’t remember another player as obnoxious as Dillon Brooks. Its really too easy root against him… a true clown
One guy in California with multiple rings?
Not according to the league standings :shrugs:
Last thing I’d do if I made the league is be a little b***h. Guy has zero game or fans.
At least he has heart unlike your favorite player Ben Simons
Cameraman lol. Memphis wondering why they’re no media darlings.
The league is singling out Memphis for some reason. Meanwhile Draymond does what he pleases. Smdh…
Green and Curry owns you.
Daaamn Draymond living rent free in your head hahaha 4 time
I would live in his head but there is no room because it’s filed with rocks!
I get what you’re saying and I agree Draymond is a nuisance. But he and Brooks aren’t the same, green causes issues on the court and with the exception of the Poole drama(right or wrong we don’t know) and some trash talk on his pod now and again he’s is generally a good nba rep off the court.
Brooks is an issue on and off the court, they’re not singling out Memphis. Brooks is bringing it all on himself with the way he acts on and off court, especially bringing issues from outside the court during games.
And the Ja situation is just a silly kid that needs to grow up a bit. Same as Kevin Porter Jr getting caught with a gun in his car and the drama up in Cleveland locker room. It wasn’t singling out Cavs it was a player being dumb and caught out. Griz and Ja are doing the right think keep him out the light it’ll die down then he’ll be back. Just needs to act the part as an NBA rep going forward.
Burn!
Nah buddy you’re living on the Internet with the rest of us and Draymond out here living a dream with multi millions… 4 time
Don’t you dare clap back at me like that I’m a top 3 commenter on this site. Is draymond? Didn’t think so. You better respect me.
How about…
No…
Don’t you dare
I dare you….. lol
What part of top commenter don’t you understand, peabrain? You will show me respect! Now!
Respect my authoritah!!!!
Do not test my patience! That’s an order!
Dray n Dillon for co players union head
I’d take Brooks on the Nets. Every team needs a guy like Brooks. Other than Claxton, no one on the Nets ever stick up for themsevles when an altercation happens
Brooks makes Pat Bev seem calm and collected at all times… Hell even Draymond hasn’t sunk to that level…
Kid should be suspended for putting his hands on a camera operator…
Memphis got off lightly again…
This is another case where people don’t actually focus with their own eyes and form a proper opinion. He doesn’t even notice that the cameraman fell. He pushes off to get himself up and doesn’t look back far enough to see the guy fall. Watch the video closer.
